For the larger, more expensive rockets, I put parachutes in the lower stages so that I can get more of my money back from debris recovery.

At around 5:AM GMT, Reactor core 3 exploded, thus making the space station rapidly decelerate and de orbit, we will now play a live description from a survivor.
“Something exploded, we all didn’t know what it was, but we saw fire from reactor core 3, then atmospheric plasma. And more explosions.”
Transcription of event:
Wing panel A exploded at 5:03PM GMT, and fell apart
5:13 AM: CLASS B Escape pods ejected, Class A shuttle ejected.
5:19 AM: Warning! Reactor core 2 has been @(/*#! Evacuate immediately!
5:23 AM:Reactor core one detaches from the main station, and the class a shuttle is headed for landing,
5:34 AM: Reactor core 4 detaches and explodes, sending 2 beams of light bursting from the reactor core.
We will also play a description from a survivor how that looked like.
“The room was getting brighter, i heard a noise so i looked outside, i saw reactor core 4 detach and melt down and send 2 blinding beams away from itself, one was kind of yellowish-white, another was red. then it exploded.”
The escape pods are in danger from debri, Kerbal Space Centre has just received communication from Class A escape shuttle.

Back at the Space Station/Nerve Centre:
5:47 AM GMT: [SYSTEM] NERVE CENTRE PRESSURE HAS BEEN COMPROMISED, REACTOR CORE 1 EXPLOSION IN 10 SECONDS, EJECTING NERVE CENTER!
Astronaut 1: “Oh my god! That was close!”
Astronaut 2: “We need to get ready for impact, we were lucky, yes. But we need to get ready for whats coming, after we can talk”
Astronaut 1: “Yeah! Alright, prime communications..”
Meanwhile, a unfortunate chap had been taken from nerve centre and ejected by the explosion, he did not survive, S&R are still looking for his body.
We also forget to mention that there were a backup reactor core in nerve centre, but more on that later.
Major explosions across the space ship, pressure of the space ship comprised. Many kerbals did not survive the explosions, fire and rapid depressurisation.
The escape pods were 75% their way to the main atmosphere. Some are already cooked alive, but around 60% survived.
Meanwhile nerve centre had only a couple hundred meters left to fall, here if a audio transcription of what the disk played before it broke:
Astronaut 3: “BRACE FOR IMPACT!”
System: “10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1-“
Astronaut 4: “HELP US GOD!”
The main explosion ignited the backup core, and this core didn’t explode, it only set on fire, saving the survivors of nerve centre.
In the end, nobody caught in the falling debris from the station got out breathing, but the escape pods, nerve centre and space shuttle did.
S&R located all the survivors within 52 hours, they were quickly rushed to the hospital and they all fortunately survived.
R&D and multiple kerbal governments along with nuclear reactor researchers have been working on multiple reactor cores that can withstand at least 1 hour of the pressures experienced during descent. We shall be thankful for the kerbals that lost their lives trying to stabilise the station, and those who didn’t make it during re-entry.
Salute, my comrade, they had families too.

The following is a reconstructed log of the KSS crash from a mix of recovered black-box data, transmissions and grounded observation.
0200: Transmission from KSC received. Transmission requesting that the KSS prepare to shorten orbit length.
0230: Pilots arrive in nerve centre from habitation rings and begin to plug in coordinates.
0300: Primary engine aligned to begin burn.
0302: Primary engine begins maneuverer.
0303: Electrical fault causes the burn to last ~6 seconds longer than intended. KSS is now orbiting much lower than intended.
0310: KSS begins to reorient for an adjustment. Engineers are dispatched to fix electrical fault.
0315: electrical power to the KSS nav systems is cut. Engineers reportedly unaware of pilots request to get it back on as-is.
0320: KSS begins to drift out of alignment. Comms finally reach engineers.
0322: Power rushed back to nav systems.
0330: KSS begins to reorient for a recovery burn. Outside readings report a rapid increase in temperature.
0334: Overheat warnings begin to sound off in nerve centre. Pilots are unable to reorient KSS quick enough due to heat-damaged reaction wheel systems. KSC unable to dispatch rescue vessels.
0340: Plasma flares on most limbs of the KSS are visible from the habitation rings and the nerve centre. Science and observation unit unable to close window-shields to protect the glass from heat damage.
0345: Solar array begins to bend backwards as atmospheric compression damages the support beams.
0350: Solar array disintegrates from damage. KSC gives evacuation order
0400: Escape capsules jettisoned. Docked SSTO decouples. Pilots report difficulty stabilising the vessel, but hill damage is minimal. KSS undergoes massive structural warping. 86% of crew evacuated. Remainders are those currently in the science bay and the pilots attempting to redirect the crash to the ocean.
0402: Major detonation detected. Primary engine completely fails, several supporting systems on that branch detonate. Fuel containment begins to fall apart.
0403: Habitation rings begin to snap at joints. Solar panel supports detach from KSS.
0405: Habitation rings detach entirely. Plasma flares prevent visibility of the segment. Projected landing some ways back from the KSS, presumably over the mountains.
0410: Primary engine detached. SSTO reports control returned. Science bay has reached internal temperatures far above standard limits. Scientists inside remain alive, however.
0411: Pilots capsule jettisons.
0412: KSS wreckage reportedly visible from ground. Science bay detaches. Temperatures cool significantly.
0420: KSS breaches lower atmosphere. Landing sight somewhere over Kerbins lowlands.
0422: Science bay impacts the ground. Completely destroyed. All crew assumed K.I.A
0423: Most major segments of KSS impact ground over Kerbins lowlands. Debris reported as far as just off the coast of the KSC. Escape pods deploy chutes. All are accounted for. SSTO lands at KSC, but overshoots the runway. Stops about fourty meters off the tarmac. Minor structural damage, but no major losses.
Conclusion: 6 Kerbals KIA (occupants of science and observation bay). Total losses equate to ~105b USD (Kerbals suffer from very little inflation, and therefore have a much lower cost overall.)
The orbital debri field of this space station was so masive dude!!
