It happened to Tiangong 1
Around 70% died, many kerbals which left in escape pods roasted alive cuz they were at the wrong angle, everyone in the ring died, 3 out of 6 kerbals within the nerve centre died, kerbals constricting a rocket died, shuttle kerbals lived, the habitation module is missing. other kerbals survived with 1st degree burns and 3 kerbals died from inertia. 1 kerbal died of a fire after landing of nerve centre. Only 1 escape pod survived
but it clearly shows more than 1 escape pod surviving

MonstahManGaming if anything tungsten wouldn't help if anything it would make it worse because heavy object going fast + comparatively lighter human going fast (or Kerman for this instance) = almost certain death also about the rubber bit try going about 150 - 300 m/s into the ground and the only thing to protect you is a 1 1/2 inch suit of rubber protecting you

Yes, thats the reason. Had to quickload for multiple shots. And the game never crashed.

I think this is a really good premise for a movie, Kinda like Gravity, but a hyperrealistic interpretation of what would happen if the ISS fell out of orbit
And made in Ksp.
You're right, it would be a really cool thing if it were hyperrealistic and had the ISS falling, but that would be a boring movie. It would take 2 1/2 years to deorbit the ISS, meaning no daring last minute escapes.

I add decuplers onto the cockpits and parechute
For the larger, more expensive rockets, I put parachutes in the lower stages so that I can get more of my money back from debris recovery.

The way that SSTO and Capsule recovered was just amazing, those guys deserve a medal!
Phoenix Tunes how do u know it was a SSTO?
A. It has a large wing surface, required to exit the atmosphere and reach a sub-orbital trajectory easier.
B. It uses R.A.P.I.E.R engines which use both Air-Breathing and Closed-Cycle modes, allowing it to achieve orbit after exiting the atmosphere.
C. If it wasn't an SSTO/Plane, how could it get into orbit in the first place? It would have been really painful to build a plane in the V.A.B.
