A part you missed is , you should unplug the def injector when doing regen to burn DEF buildup.

I have a 2014 Cascadia with a ghg14 1 box that already had the kid installed when I got it. Now after 1 year with that truck is building crystallization from the def just like you show in your video. The metal plate is in the right spot, I changed the NOX sensors and during a parked regen all the parameters are within the number that they are supposed to be. Do you know anything else that I can do to stop the problem or have you seen any other truck that continues having the problem after having an awning kit installed?
Did you double check the gasket around the meter unit injector?

I have a question. Is there any reason I couldn't just weld the awning inside the one box rather then drill holes in it? It seems to me the time consuming part of this job is getting the clearance to drill correctly. On all my trucks the fuel tank is to close to even get my 90° drill in there. If I could weld it to the inside I could do this job in a timely manner.
There are some type of glue these days that may work that can stand up to 2k degrees.
Excelente video. Sr. Is this awning good for the EPA 10 one box? My truck keeps flashing that code you mentioned. Especially after I refuel def. Then it cycles and goes off. Going up a small hill to. DPF are clean already. Other code is def quality. Any suggestions help Sr.
The EPA10 models don't really suffer from what this Awning is meant to help fix. Diagnosing conversion and quality problems can take a little time.

Thank you sir, I can now understand what was going on with my 2014 freightliner cascadia having Engine light on and check engine light on then DEF light flashing, causing the engine to derated to 55MPH. This is my third time repair in one month totaling $5K with 3 different freightliner dealer , they finish now to nstall that DEF AWNING KIT, hopefully it's going to end this issue.
The first attempt they dealer changed the sensor, I picked a load and drove just 200mi, and same issue came up and drove again to the nearby freightliner dealer they replaced the DEF METERING UNIT, then my first drive after repair I heard a lot of rush noise coming and stop in the DEF BOX maybe I could be wrong. I kept driving until they stopped after a half day.
The problem came up again after like 3weeks, and again went to the nearby freightliner which come to install the DEF AWNING KIT, but I'm really tired and don't have a trust on anything now. I'm afraid something else inside the DEF Box Will cause the problem rising again. Is there any guarantee that the DEF awning kit will solve my problem completely? I heard one guy saying they required him to change the DEF box costing him $14K it made me scared of this issue.

It does fix poor def quality issue, I got it installed last week.
You said the DEF build up problem is more common in high speed and high load truck applications, but that a large amount of DEF build up can be cleared out by doing a parked regen. I've had to do only 2 parked regens in 175k miles, no idling and all OTR use. wouldn't constant freeway use and active regeneration processes negate this problem of build up from happening?
Apparently active regens do not do a good enough job at clearing it out. Perhaps because with a good duty cycle, they don't happen often enough.
Thanks, is there a way to make a truck do a parked regen if it's not asking for one? I'm a driver, I don't have a truck computer, but wouldn't mind burning the fuel to make sure it's cleaning itself out properly.
I'm not sure about all engines but I know Detroits can be programmed to allow parked regens at any time. Most trucks only activate the Parked regen switch once the DPFs enter Zone 1 or 2 but it can be changed to Zone 0 which allows them any time. You would have to have someone with the capability to change engine parameters do this. A 5 minute job.

Do you know how to get rid of a Permanent low def pressure code on a 2012 Cascadia dd15. That's the only code showing up. A clean out my tank and my def was contaminated. I got a bad batch of it at the pump. Def pump, pnematic switch valve, those little screens in the def pump and metering unit, plu all have been replaced. I cleaned out all the air lines, all the def lines, metering unit, and def doser. Am I suppose to do a force regen through the software?
Most likely its that metering unit. How did you clean it? Hot water? Did you run air through it? When its contaminated, its a bitch to clean and often easier to replace.
If the code is listed as Permanent but there's no engine light on, it's fine. After running without any issues for a while, the permanent code will clear itself. If the engine light is on, then you may have an actual DEF pressure issue. What was the system contaminated with? Was the metering unit properly disassembled and cleaned?
