If it needs an awning, why doesn't freightliner cover it? We'll have to go for big bucks to add something to their faulty design!

How long can you drive on this code?? Will the truck derate?

I have those two codes but also one for improper diesel exhaust fluid can this this still cause this code to pop up?

We still have the same problems after installing def awning. In my opinion, horrible design and bad programming contributes to this. Have you ever noticed the small hole on the bottom of the one box in the scr? I don’t understand why it is there since an exhaust leak contributes to low nox issues.

It is for water drainage. I thought the same thing when I first saw that, but I guess it is so small and in such a place in the exhaust stream that it doesn’t effect nox. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@alreyindustries funny thing is, the crew at freightliner had no idea what I was talking about when I asked them about the hole. They swore there should be no hole and they claimed to have never seen it. Seems to me, it is a place to lose heat during a regen which would promote low nox efficiency.

@@monicaallen5266 yea, I mean I know exhaust leaks can definitely cause this code. I’ve found that the DPF clamps leaking, build up of DEF, or a bad SCR itself have been the most common causes for this code.
Unfortunately, if it’s the SCR, that’s a whole one box and an expensive repair. But I agree that it is not the best design.

I’m in the process of opening my own mobile repair service in the Tampa, Florida area. If you are in the area I could possibly come out to you. You can email me at toptechdieselrepair@gmail.com for more info.

The awning kit didn’t do shit to be honest. What I noticed is my code would pop up during the wind. It took 3 and a half years to figure out what the problem was. I spent thousands of dollars replacing one part after the other. Nothing helped until one day I noticed my exhaust pipe was bent with the guillotine clamp. Somebody tightened it too much and kinked it making the exhaust flow too hard. I replaced the pipe and clamps and everything went away. Like 6-7 codes disappeared

What year is your truck that this issue was on? I’m having the same issue with my 2019 Cascadia. I’ve spent thousands of dollars already on this SCR efficiency code, I’ve cleaned the whole one box including the DPF filters, change the after treatment harness changed all the sensors to the one box and I still have the same problem

@@SFMARK69 I think they programmed this so the drivers could spend thousands of dollars and keep them busy
