  • Song commonly played during parades like ORD, OCS commission. NDP
    with lyric
We work in harmony, with our fellow men
We are the soldiers of this land.
We have to move ahead, to do the best we can
We are the one to defend our land.
    Chorus:
    We are one, marching on;
We're the young defenders of this country.
Moving on, we believe that we can achieve
So let us serve our home Singapore
We live in unity, working hand in hand.
Within this land that we defend.
We have to leave the past,
    To strive for higher planes.
We have to train to achieve our aim.
We pushed ourselves ahead, to our destiny.
To make this country strong and free.
As we go marching on, we sing this melody,
So let us strive on to victory

Hi, may I check who is the composer for this song? There is a word sung and written differently in the chorus.
We are the "young" or "strong" defenders of this country?
In the song it was sung as strong. In your lyrics below it was written as young.

When sung for OCS commissioning parade, it is "young" as the newly commissioned officers are younger in age. When sung for NDP, it is "strong" as not everyone actively serving is young. Same goes for "soldiers of this land" vs "people of this land". When used for SAF, it is "soldiers". When used for NDP, it is "people" as those from home team etc are not soldiers.
