These caster wheels are a simple and effective solution for workbenches that need to be moved around frequently. Whether you're a woodworker or a DIY enthusiast, these caster wheels are a great way to improve your workspace! - Хобби
the ultimate simple and effective contraption for a workbench, i really love it! thank you so much
I absolutely love videos like this one. Incredibly useful, superb quality and editing, no wasted stories about the beginning of the earth or about my cousin's neighbor's nephew....blah, blah, blah. Straight to the point. Don't even need words or music!! I have the same setup...EXCEPT for the spring loaded bracket. Definitely gonna use this. EXCELLENT!!!! Thanks so much!!!
Over the years I have seen many versions of this, and even have copied one for myself, but it failed and broke - I can honestly say this is the best version I've seen. SImple, easy, the kicker release is perfect.
Agreed. Very well done.
Same here.
While we're at it, something has to be done for home appliances and work desks with castors.
These are made from plastic materials and a guard/coover which trap fibres, swarf and such stuff which cause jamming and destruction.
Difficult to replace these.
I suspect his broke as well. At 6:33 the hinges have been changed.
@@1992jamo Well spotted ! - yes he has changed the hinges for ones with a stronger central pin. I was planning to use ones that are rated for heavy doors, but even so, very well spotted.
Whats even better than this version is the original ruclips.net/video/knXbcY3ipQw/видео.html
I like the way you edit the videos and not make them boring with real time repetition.
Many people over complicated these retractable castor ideas. This is simple, straight to the point and works well and not hard to adapt at all. Cheers
Perhaps the simplest cheapest, and easiest solution to retractable wheels I have seen on YT so far, and I've seen dozens of ideas from poorly thought out, to much to overly complicated ideas.
The 3" wheels are fairly cheap, you can buy cut offs of the angle iron almost anywhere for less that $10, and the spring and lag bolt are just as cheap. What I love about this style is that they do not cause a tripping hazard. I bought years ago the "Work Bench" wheels that stick out at each corner, but when I laid them out, I realized just how much the stood out from each corner, and never installed them. I still have them and will be putting them up for sale instead of letting them collect more sawdust.
Thanks for sharing your idea. My first video of yours and I have subscribed!
Okay, you win. I like your design the most and will be using it on an assembly table I'm making this week. You also explained things very well, without saying a word. Thank you very much for sharing!
This may be the best solution all round for making the various tool stands I need to build mobile when I need them to be mobile and not at all mobile when I don't. Cheap, simple to build, easy to use, and no trip hazard. It helps that they work with the design of tool stand I have in my head!
Brilliant! I’ve been wanting something like this for a long while, had thought about commercial solutions, but I didn’t trust their little levers to have enough leverage to lift a heavy bench. They’d also only raise one corner a time. This is a great design, I’m so glad YT finally surfaced it for me! Thanks!!
You make the best videos , you show without distracting voice commentary, or lousy poor taste in music. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for sharing. I particularly appreciate that you put the measurements at every step
Elegant design and beautifully executed. I love it. Putting things on wheels is a constant need for diyers who don’t have limitless space in their garages. I’ve seen many and devised my own ones (never seen anywhere else). This is a good one!
One limitation is that this suits only relatively light load. Relevant to this limitation, we should use castor wheels of small radius of swivel, and wide/strong hinges, in this design
Excellent design, very simple ease of use and effective. Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful.
Might I suggest a slight mod? If you keep the latch angle at 90 degrees it's prone to slippage. Decreasing it slightly and rounding the inner corner makes for a much more positive 'lock' when the catch is closed.
I've just completed a small support table for my thicknesser and couldn't be more pleased with it.
A big THANK YOU!
Excellent, simplicity, cost-effective, thank you very much appreciated
What an easy and effective solution to a major problem. Thanks
Really nicely produced, clear video. Thankyou - this is for sure the guide I will use when building my next bench.
I was expecting this to be terrible 😂 I actually really like it and will use a refined version of this as the finishing touch on my work bench build when it's complete.
Thanks bud! 👍
This is one of my favorite videos. Thanks for the clever and very clean design.
Very clever design. I saved this to my to-do list.
Wow! I am adding this to my workbenches. Thanks!
Very clever and well executed. I’m going to consider this for my heavy bench.
Fantastic creativity, design, fabrication and implication skills!
Very cool. I’ve been trying to work out some way to attach casters to my workbench and this fits the bill perfectly. Great job!
Спасибо тебе добрый человек. Наглядно показал как это работает. Успехов в работе
Absolutely brilliant. Exactly what I was looking for.
This is brilliant. In going to add this my workshop as I build it. Thanks so much
Good idea. The longer you make the bottom piece, the more leverage will work to your advantage, making it easier to raise back up. The tradeoff, of course, is lifting height. However, as most of us would be using this for heavy items, and as most persons have a smooth shop floor, I'd opt to go as long as possible and still get 0.25 inches of height. Also, the farther you place the locking lever from the fulcrum, the less force there will be upon it. Cheers.
Great idea only thing is I would add a couple of guides in the middle to keep the wood from shifting back and forth and twisting out.
Excellent idea. It shouldn't be hard to adapt one of those guides to prevent your foot getting caught under the shelf as well.
That's just brilliant, dude! Fantastic work! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
This is so going to help more people get creative like you have done here great solution I’ll be testing it out
This is the best version I've seen.
So smart! I love your design!
Wish I could give this 100 👍
Nice design and excellent workmanship.
Nicely worked out and I think the forces would be taken pretty well.
Beautiful and very useful video - THANKS FROM THAILAND!
Tambien confirmo, después de ver algunos videos de este tipo, este es el mejor. Great Job.

Fantastic👏🏽. Much respect
Great video, simple and most guys have this stuff kicking around the shop.
Definitely adding this to the sewing table.
CONGRATULATIONS !!! ... NICE JOB !!! ... I'M DOING MINE !!! ... THANKS A LOT !!!
Wow very well presented video. Thanks much appreciated
Great job. Simple and easy to make and saves alot of money 💰 for me 😅
THIS IS RILLIANT ... EL-PERFECTO ... precisley what i am looking for. CHEERS
Your grindings disk skills are impressive.
Awesome concept. Thank you.
Just love the project!
Great Job. Such a simple and cheap solution. If you were to go to the store and buy one that does the same would cost you around $60.00 - $75.00.
Great simple concept but I had to make an alternate to the spring catch mechanism. The cross member on my bench joining the legs is on the outside of the legs and just above the timbers for the wheels. I added a block to the top timber and when pushed down to raise the bench, the top of the block I added was slightly above the cross member. I drilled a hole through the cross member and the block and then pushed a bolt (as a pin) through to lock the wheels in place. To lower the bench legs I put slight downward pressure on the block and pull the pin out. Works well.
I didn't know shaggy got into woodworking.
(Nice Scooby Doo Drip btw)
Great build. I think I'll be able to make that with the limited tools on hand.
Just need a spring...
Very clever for workbenches 👍🏻
vraiment génial!!c'est très intelligent 👍👍👍le meilleur système que j'ai vu dans son coût et dans sa simplicité BRAVO et surtout merci pour le partage!!!👏👏🙏🙏
Brilliant. Seen a few versions on this. But this is the one i definitly will do. Besides that the video is also very god. Thanks.
Very cool, really great way to give you the best of both, I like this very much. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!
Que ideia maravilhosa. Tenho penado muito para mover minha serra. Muito obrigado pela dica. Muito sucesso e saúde para você.
Great Video. Visually well explained.
This is a great idea! I will definitely be making my own version of this in the future
better make sure your hinges are ultra heavy duty gauge. it looks like the weight falls on them when the wheels are in use.
Good concept. Thanks for sharing
so simple yet so efficient
Uao, bem robusto esse mecanismo; muito engenhoso seu projeto, gostei bastante, simples e fácil de executar em qualquer projeto que necessite de um mecanismo para recolher as rodinhas. Grata por compartilhar.
Gorgeous!
I did something very similar to this about 45 years ago on my first table saw in my one car garage shop. But, my solution was not quite as elegant as your solution. Well done.
That is so simple a solution it is brilliant! Nice no nonsense vid, to….

Very good idea.
Love this.
Nice job. I like it.
Excellent.
This is VERY cool.
Squares it perfectly, brings in the clamp, and the entire piece moves. Doesn't care because the square was already overkill. ha Nice vid!
