One thing I always remember about Thane is one of the outfits you can have him wear has him wearing a pair of sunglasses. They look so silly on him that it wraps around to being kind of funny
Hey girl, great episode as always. In case nobody has told you, N7 is not related to the Normandy, it is an Alliance's special program. Only the best soldiers made it into it. Shep's one of 'em, of course.
"Have you faced an Asari commando unit before? Few humans have." That's the exact line Benezia gave the crew when they fought on Noveria in ME1. Nice callback. Grunt may not say anything, but if you bring Jack, she'll say "I could learn a thing or two from you, Shepard," when you push the merc out the window. Thane is cool. When I play renegade Femshep, I romance him. There's an awesome moment they have in the next one. Really makes playing a ruthless survivor type worth it. The big ship model you didn't recognize is the Destiny Ascension, the Council's flagship. So, did you visit the local cluster while probing? There's some funny dialogue from EDI when you do.
@StCerberusEngel yeah that's such a cool reference to the first game. Sad that I didn't make the connection when I was playing. Ohhhh that's hilarious! Yeah I like thane. He is such a unique character, poor guy always looks so lonely though. Probably won't romance him but I can see how his romance would be interesting. Ahhhh gotcha 😊 Lol yeah! The Uranus one? Hilarious 😂
If you’re interested in supplemental info on what Liara was up to after the 1st Normandy was destroyed, there are Mass Effect comics that cover that time period… no real spoilers for the game, so you can enjoy safely.
All the new planets are so cool this time around, I personally love Illium even if it's presented as a shady place due to all the interesting people we meet and all the callbacks to ME1 (particularly Noveria which was my favorite from ME1!). It's cool to hear about what the Rachni are up to and that Gianna is still out there arresting people with... interesting methods 😆🤣 It's always fun to see how Liara has changed in this game, she's probably one of the most changed characters from ME1 with how ruthless she seems here. Fun fact, the first line Liara says here "Have you ever faced an asari commando unit before? Few humans have" was said by BBB on Noveria during the fight And I think there's a bug where Conrad's interactions on ME1 get flagged as renegade on ME2, so that's why he says all that stuff even if you were good with him I think you handled very well, considering Conrad could very well die if he kept that attitude up There's still some interesting interactions to be seen on Illium so I can't wait to see those 😆
@Ghaladd I agree! I really liked Illium. So much character on this planet 🤌🤌 It was really cool to see the Noveria squad. I like that we got a little update on the Rachni queen and got to do another mini undercover mission Yeah Liara went from sweet and naive to hard ans spicy 😭🤌 she is so badass now though. That's really cool and sad that she said the same line as BBB. Like mother like daughter Yeah I remember being so sweet to Conrad but maybe he was just Salty that I wouldn't recommend him to be a specter 🤭 but it was fun to see him
@@KahliPlaysGamesyeah! Illium is so cool . I also like that we go up a building on Thane's recruitment mission, it made possible one of the most savage Shepard moments yet I'm not sure how I feel about the paragon option being feeding into Conrad's illusion with the fake story but yeah it's good to see him doing well haha 🤣🤣
I forgot that you’d romanced Liara in ME1 so that reunion caught me off guard 😂 love that she just copies Benezia word for word to act intimidating - such a cute callback ❤
The club song is from Comaduster - To hide, To seek. It's an amazing song and also an amazing post-workout song. Turn the ac to ice cold and just chill.
Good to see Conrad Verner making an appearance! I've seen a couple of playthroughs recently, in which the interactions with Conrad weren't completed in ME1, and in that case he doesn't return in ME2. I must admit, as annoying as he can be, the game just isn't the same without him!
Illium is the Rich man's Omega. Well, Rich Asari and Volus' Omega. As Garrus points out. Conrad behaves here as though you made Renegade choices with him in ME1, even if you didn't. They never fixed it. 35:24 she's waiting for Miranda You only started Liara's request. More to do. Also much more important quest with her later. 44:14 you missed another "old friend", but she'll be there when you get back. She was talking in the background. 55:27 if you had stayed in that room a little longer, the body would've fallen out of the air shaft above you. 55:59 yeah one time a guy who was playing Vanguard said "I, am, HUMAN!" and did a Biotic Charge. Eclipse are Asari, Human and Salarian, not necessarily in that order. 1:03:38 if you don't push him, then you get the standard red and blue dialogue options. I like the renegade one, you shove him up against the glass and ask "What sound will you make before you hit the ground? Think you'll hear it before you die?" Aaah, you missed the data pad for the one Salarian. "I mean they're trying, they just, freakin suck" I LOLed Thane was designed by the dev team asking the women in the office for a romance partner character. Jacob you can shove off. 1:20:31 the Destiny Ascension.
@RealArcalian ohhh okay I was wondering why Conrad said I was mean to him. I was super nice to him in the first one 🥲 Dang it I missed th body drop? Rip 😭 Ohhhh that's such a badass line...well he found out what it sounded like 😅 Hmmm that makes sense. He is definitely the "mature" romance option . Not my thing but I can see it . Lol right! Jacob was mad jealous I swear. Ahhhh that makes more sense, thank you
Illium is a very distractable place, so it's totally understandable that it took you a while to get to the actual recruiting mission. And I get turned around all the time, too, even though I've played this game so many times I actually forgot how many it actually are. The side missions were interesting, though. Thane is such an odd character. He's nothing like you would expect from an assassin. Far too kind. Are you doing Samara next or something different? I also hope you'll do Lair of the Shadow Broker soon, too. I think you'll like that mission. It's not only well written, but quite useful, too.
Its a really cool place. I love all the extra conversations you can eavesdrop and interact with . I agree, Thane is not at all what I expected but I really enjoy him :) I will be doing Miranda's and Garrus's loyalty quests next, then I will recruit Samara :) I plan on doing the Lair of the Shadow Broker after doing everyone's loyalty quests but before going to the Reaper IFF. :)
Ummm Am I wrong or you didn't finish the hacking ? There are 3 terminals you need to hack for Liara, if I remember correctly, and you missed the poet krogan and another surprise, maybe you'll meet them again when you'll be back to find Samara on Illium... I hope you won't miss them... That might not being crucial to the scenario, but that's very interesting and funny I don't remember if you made the job for Aria on Omega ? Did you ?
No I didnt get all three but I will go back and finish that side quest in the future :) Also, yes! I did the one with Aria and her trophy Krogan (just did it off camera)

Yay! On the path o upgrades!!! Medbay upgrade is only really for having your scars removed, so it’s a little bit of a ripoff…. But ship upgrades are overall super important. The story is good, but accomplishing the objective for the good result is…. A pain, even if you know what you’re doing.
Heck yea, we be doing alll the upgrades 🤣🤣 oh really? I enjoyed his quest. It was epic seeing him drop down from the vent like that. Made me want to do a stealth mission lol
@ oh, the mission getting him is good. I mean his loyalty mission. Sorry, I was unclear. It develops his character nicely, but the mission itself is… I’ll give the game credit for trying something different, but… eh, you’ll see when you do his loyalty. It’s kinda important to get the good ending to it. I did it last week, and I’ve done it a few times before, but I still had to take like 3 stabs at it. I mildly dread husk-heavy missions, but I dread thane’s loyalty mission more. It’s easy to survive, but a pain to get the good ending.
