      The only place you should be level 2 charging is at your home or hotel. There is very little use case for it in any other situation. Your EV can go 200 plus miles, you don't need to plug it in while you're at the grocery store.

      Yes more L2 and Wireless, therein the greater the ability to charge in the background the lesser will be the OBSESSION/ADDICTION to Fast Charge...
      If you're paying attention, you'll see the vandals have now discovered the DCFC weakness and that's the ease of being able to cut and STEAL THE COPPER cables everybody's erroneously fallen in love with.

    Another video I watched today pointed out that the J3400
    connector differs slightly from the Tesla/NACS connector.
    The connector shown at 2:00 appears to be J3400, not Tesla.

    I would think that DC systems could be reasonably priced if they are decoupled from the grid or only use the grid as AC to charge the system. Have a solar canopy that charges a DC output and have a couple DC posts for fast charging if you need but use mostly AC for overnight charging on fleets. The utility where I am doesn't give much credit to businesses with solar so detach the solar from the grid and us it to fill batteries that can be used to DC fast charge vehicles and this directly offsets the gasoline that needs to be purchased rather than the very little credit given back to businesses for the grid tied solar.

    These charging stations need to consider a thief or EV hater cutting the cables. Don't rely on the police the cables need to be sucure until a user needs it.

  • @AaronHope_Sow

    Also consider adding rigid foam board to the back of it AND make sure it has a full frame top bottom left and right with rubber Weatherstriping, no gaps, foam seal the attic facing side of the frame all four sides AND have a locking latching door nob that can adjust so the door sits tight against the Weatherstriping. Anything less is an heat/air suck and will introduce humidity into the living space. Have solid air sealed backing for the knee/attic walls and you will thank me later!

    With J3400/NACS allowing 277v is the level 2 able to do 277 or is 240/208 only?

    • @jamesphillips2285
      @jamesphillips2285 12 дней назад

      Multiplying by 1.732 yields roughly 480V.
      That means that you can power 3 J3400 chargers off of one 480V 3 phase source.

    For now; CPOs wants high voltage micro grid solutions with smart power sharing between posts/outlets, we also need high efficient and cheaper power modules. Future charging will transition to more inductive charging, but until then transductive dominate but the locking effect of capital is a big concern for profitable within this fast changing market and industry = no chance to make any money!

    I want to know about reliability. Are commercial chargers more reliable than public chargers? If so, why can’t they make the public chargers just as reliable?

    • @ProXcaliber
      @ProXcaliber 12 дней назад +4

      Well, I don't think it's so much that the equipment itself is more reliable, although, that might be the case, I think it has more to do with the people using it. A public charger is like a public restroom (for lack of better comparison), it's exposed to a multitude of different people using it, people who may not take care of cables and leave them on the ground and things of that nature. In contrast, a commercial charger is more like a private office restroom, where only a select number of people with more accountability will be using it, and its use will be monitored more closely.

    This is probably a lousy place to bring this up but isn't it time someone addressed DC charging needs in the less populous states? We travel between Santa Fe, New Mexico and Farmington every week or two... around 280 miles. There is no charging for 250 miles of the trip. About halfway between is the small town of Cuba, New Mexico. Electrify America has had two charging stations "coming soon" in Cuba for going on two years. Someone needs to be plugging these "holes" in the charging infrastructure. We'd love to take our EV on road trips, but it's just not practical without a place to recharge along the way.
