- Seeing as it's the start of the Shetland Box and Fiddle Festival I thought I'd better post a video. As much as I'd love to be home playing and dancing away to my hearts content, due to university commitments, I'm unable to attend this year. insert sad face here
This is a traditional Scottish tune called Morrison's Jig. Peter Wood, my first accordion tutor, taught it to me many, many years ago. It is a very common session tune and is played at a lot of ceilidhs. It's fun and easy to play, so if you would like to learn this tune, drop me a comment below and I will try to make a tutorial for it.
Please subscribe and like. If you are interested in keeping up to date with my gig information, I am on Facebook. Find me under: Lana Elaine Music. Go on, you know you want to! =P
I return to this video repeatedly to admire the triple trills on E and G. It's the best version of Morrison's Jig!
Always beautiful music and performer :)
Thank you! =) xx

Hello Lana Elaine, I must confess that you are such a beautiful accordion player from Scotland and I enjoy listening to your beautiful tunes so often. Wonderful!
Perfect! I listened to this version many times - it's one of the best versions of this jig (in my opinion)! The bass chords improve the dynamics of the whole track! Can play this tune on whistle, but now I never have enough bass overtones... Thank you for this gorgeous version!)
Very nice!
Oh beautiful Unst

Hi, nice pieceof music. i am interested in how you play with your left hand. it would be nice if you made a tutorial. Greetings fom Argentina.
awesome!
awesome !!
Fantastic! Very glad I discovered your channel :) By the way, what sort of pickups does this accordion have? It looks very similar to mine, judging by the bass and treble knobs. Thank you for the beautiful music! Greetings from a fellow Celtic musician :)
You're excellent! I wonder if it was the same Peter Wood who owns (owned?) High Level Music in Lerwick who taught you? I've not been up for a good few years now.
Hello! Yes, that's the very one. He owned High Level when I first started learning accordion. =) xx
Liked. Next -> Facebook :P
Thanks that the title tell us that we are in RUclips, otherwise we wouldn't know, lol.
GOOD +++++++++++++
perfekt
Holy wow, you’re amazing.
Do you have sheet music for this tune?
tocas tan hermoso :D
That left side looks simple compared to that absolute ball pit of buttons on the right.
Good !
thank you! =) xx
素晴らしい!
i love ui :p
cheeky...!
nice
Hi, I like this tune. I want to play it with my own accordeon. Do you have any music sheet ? morrison's jig and wiilafjord ? Please ?
Sorry I feel lazy for asking this cause I mean I could count... but how many keys and basses on the accordion? Many thanks!:)
すき
You have the gift! Not an easy instrument to play. Try the transition from "Morrison's Jig" into "The Cliffs of Moher"...you may like this transition you may not?? Best Regards Maury
Круто! :)
I think you are realy good and where did you get your acordian from
Hello, it's a really nice song, where could I fine the score? thanks
Can we have 10h loop, please.
вот это четкий риил!
Sempre più brava! Però devi guardare la camera ogni tanto!
Still have no idea how you do the left side. I play a 21 button melodeon and that only has 8 buttons on the left, yet alone a million!
Haha, it's not too bad as there's a pattern to it so once you learn the pattern in one area it just shifts up and down! =) There's 72 buttons on my left hand side! =D xx
@@fantinigirl92 super impressive playing though! What type/model of accordian is this which key is it? I'd love to have a go at learning it
@@Jbonn6141 Thank you! =) It is a Manfrini 72 bass. =) It isn't tuned to a particular key. The right hand is a standard piano key set up and the left hand has rows of chords (so a row of C, G, D etc) if that makes sense? xx
@@fantinigirl92 thanks so much for this. The accordian is a wonderful instrument and i wish you all the best with your music! Can't wait for more!
@@Jbonn6141 It is, I just love it!
