Thank you Emma, it was very helpful because coming from wc it can be difficult to detect tiny amounts of watered down glazes especially in white tones. The variety or even making use of a mix of pastels to make different tones of white is very helpful. It is great to have the variety of values but I have been able to just blend a bit and it works well. Thank you for your videos! Color theory works for all media. Excellent advice 😊

Thank you! Glad you found this helpful. I think 'white' is one of the toughest colours to crack, but it opens up all the doors in colour theory I think!

fantastic, I have tried using unisons pastels but because of the size of them can not judge correctly where they will mark on my paper, watching you use them for such small areas is wonderful. thank you.

That's definitely something that takes a while to get used to. It's not like the sharp point of a pencil. Here is a link to a video which you might find helpful. ruclips.net/video/0Yah9eQ_Aoc/видео.html

Thank you so much Emma, foliage scares me, but I do want to eventually manage to paint animals in a setting the way you do, so this is a very helpful tutorial. Your flowers are stunning.

Thank you! The big Golden Retriever series is over on my Patreon, you can see the tutorial info at www.emmacolbertart.com/2022/02/28/golden-retrievers-in-the-garden/
It was a huge painting so not all of the tutorial is narrated and colour coded. With some of my longer paintings I include some parts with just the footage to show everything in real time, and then I narrate and colour code key parts of the painting.
