At 375 pounds and 2 hp per cubic inch these engines at a modest 300hp setup and rigged correctly on a speed hull of your choice where something on lakes and rivers for the average person looking to build a fast little lake boat for general use these things rip still impressive 👏
Damn, in the 400s from 8200 to 8600... Doesn't seem like you need to rev it much past 9k if it isn't making more power, but IDRK much about how it all works.
Yes agreed, but since these motors have a direct drive single gear, for drag racing having the overrev capability allows you to have more flexibility for propeller selection.
Is the shop still in business? My dad George Pignoli knew Ted really well. I remember hanging out in there when i was just a few years old. Bad ass video by the way, 10k rpm is insane.

Hello, this is highly unadviseable as these motors are much higher power density and sensitive to tuning changes compared to the big capacity domestic engines you probably got the idea from which can tolerate such a modification
@@speedmastermarine aah ok, so you run it at full RPM, shut it off instantly (because if you gently slow down the potential proof of the detonation will disappear?), and then remove the sparks and check them with your eye? Is that it?

56 gallons per hour of C12 is CRAZY!!!! What oil and ratio is used?
32:1 castrol A747, or motul 2T or amsoil dominator

Hi - I sent Email yesterday re buying a V6 - any reply please

A lightweight rotating/reciprocating assembly, and alot of attention to detail ;)

What is with the sudden shut off when max rpm is reached? I see al dyno tests do this
We shut the engine down on the dyno quickly to do a spark plug reading at the end of the dyno run. This is standard protocol.
@@speedmastermarine thanks!
And whats the goal of the spark plug reading? What can you read about the spark plugs?

Can any 1967-1970 2 stroker make this type of sound 😅
What did you do to increase rpm?
Revised port timing, intake/exhaust porting, higher compression, lighter weight reciprocating/rotating assembly, optimized fuel/ignition timing.
Thanks so much.. Cheers

200Litre per hour
Unfortunately the economy isnt the greatest in this state of tune, but it requires fuel flow to make the horesepower

what do you think the result would be if a pipe was added
In this application it probably isnt worth the size or complexity, but there should be no issues developing 200hp per litre with expansion chambers.
