Also i'll call it Persona 6: SC
As someone who is excited for p5x, I'll be saying this now, atlus will never live it down if they just reveal p5x at an event as big as the game awards. And if they do reveal both p5x and p6, p5x will still be incredibly overshadowed, tactica and reload style. The best approach would be to announce p6 at the game awards and p5x somewhere else before or after it. Of course im not expecting the best approach from atlus. So im expecting a p5x only reveal at the game awards and them getting dunked on for a good while due to it.

Honestly I don't think it's gonna happen and here is why. If we consider the game awards day metaphor re fantazio would be out for 2 months, but I think atlus actually wants to wait for the game to increase the amount of sold copies. I think 2 months aren't enough to gain the maximum amount of profit from that game, and they may want to wait a little bit more before showing Persona 6 that will likely steal the show. Also we haven't seen yet the next nintendo console and atlus said that wants to release the game worldwide at the same time and on all the consoles. Maybe if they wait for the switch 2 to be announced they can optimize the game for that console too but this could require some extra months and this is another reason why atlus would not rush P6 announcement. Please forgive my poor english, it's not my first lenguage so you may find some errors, I apologize in advance.

Metaphor is seemingly doing so well financially and critically, there's no chance it won't be nominated for multiple categories at TGA including goty, which will only attract more new players even if it doesn't win. If anything, it might be P6's sales that will be hurt if they release it too soon. Like, for me at least, I'm starting to feel a bit burnt out on this style of rpg after having played Metaphor and P3R this year alone. If they do announce P6 for 2025, I'm really hoping it'll be a fall or winter release at least.
After Metaphors one-sided pandering, I'm worrying on P6 .... that said, Metaphor is still great and doesn't pander as hard as western games.., but not better than Dragon Quest XIS..

@99stellar Lgbtq+ characters are not a problem in games.., problem is the way some games depict them (and / or push them front & centre, making their identity more important than the game itself or more important than good character writing) ... that said, Metaphor doesn't pander with Lgbtq+ characters.., but it keeps shoving "tolerance" down our throats over and over (the main story itself, takes on tolerance themes well, but aside of that, there is constant lecturing about it) ... also trying to teach how to "manipulate" others (as manipulation & deception are ok.., not ok is getting things with power or any masculine traits) ... besides every single evil & obnoxious character is a privilege white dude, .. and we dont kill a single female, the very few repent too, .. we kill plenty white dudes though) ... also the church is depicted one-sided evil, and "un-aliving" yourself is shown as ok too.. ... its still a great game, especially from the moment "the thing in the sky appears".., but drops off after the big dungeon south of the islands.. (but that segment is 9-10/10, but after it, it drops overall.., besides performance issues on consoles, unbalanced combat / RNG unless you grind or use guides, the exploration is very limited overall, etc) ... the game is overall not a 94, but the pandering sites, that usually don't give Jrpgs such high scores (they often have issues with anime & Jrpg styles) gave it surprisingly high scores without mentioning any of the negatives (and ofc "easy & story" mode is just what those sites love too.., clearly that's how many played it, as never to mention the unbalanced combat, especially later)
Metaphor is a completely new series for them, similar but different. If you've gotten to the endgame of Metaphor I think it makes sense why romance isn't included since it would be really weird and doesn't fit the story it's trying to tell. Tldr, I don't see any reason to be worried 😁
