The purpose of this video is not to persuade anyone that Oliver Roberts was Billy the Kid or not. But merely to show what parts of his life I have been able to ascertain in my own research, and pay respects to the old-timer who captured the imagination of a generation and, to this day continues to hold us all transfixed, like passersby on a street corner, listening to his tales and seeing the glimmer of mischief in his eyes.

There’s a great story, maybe even a great book, on the life of Brushy Bill. But there is more chance of catching a fart in a hurricane than finding evidence he was Billy
He was too young to be Billy.
I believe in Brushy! He was a real person, who actually existed, is well documented and this video attests to these facts with the research to back it up. (Thanks, James!) I don't know why so many people have a hard time with this, and disrespect old Oliver P so much. Or Oliver L or William H or whatever other names he liked to use at different times. Other than that, his silly Billy the Kid claim, his unbelievably fabled exploits, and enough tall tales to fill a few volumes, Oliver P. Roberts seems like a pretty straight shooter! I believe he was real. And that's that.
