Laurie Baker is an architect who deserves special attention not just because of his designs' simplicity (nor the use of bricks - nor even the excellent taste in music) but because he's found practical and inexpensive ways to ventilate and make livable dwellings in hot climates without need for electricity and air conditioning, which leave a massive environmental footprint whereever they are found.
I have no idea of what Mr Geoffrey Bawa work is all about, however I was inspired by Laurie Baker's styled construction. So I went ahead and made a house for myself, a simple dwelling. It is good, comfortable, cool and soothing to eyes. I am extremely contended with the style and the inspiration. Thanks to Laurie Baker for inspiring lots of people in India.
i went through books of bawa's works....... his drawings are beautiful....... and baker...... his thoughts and methods are beautiful......... you can not compare between two of them
