    When changing the intake manifold - should you change the Fuel injectors as-well to be safe or leave them alone? I currently have an Audi A5 2008 1.8TSFI ( same engine as this ) with a P2015 problem which says runner position in bank 1 out of range - and I'm assuming I'd need to change the intake manifold as the sensor is already a part of this entire part in Audi's?

    • @bofbolts
      @bofbolts  Год назад +1

      It’s definitely not a bad idea, especially if the injectors have never been changed. They are prone to leaking at the seals, and also not as efficient when they age. I would replace them.
      If your code is only the runner, I would guess your intake is clogged up with carbon or it’s failed. Likely failed - I would have a new intake on hand so you’re not waiting.

    • @ChoiceOfGaming
      @ChoiceOfGaming Год назад

      intake you mean the manifold? Will be changing within the next few weeks, how much time do you reckon I should have free before starting roughly an entire day or so?@@bofbolts

    • @bofbolts
      @bofbolts  Год назад +2

      Yes the intake manifold. Really depends on your comfort level but I would dedicate 2 hours on the intake manifold removal if you’re going to take your time. And another 1-2 hours for the injectors and cleanup. Definitely a half day job - things never go as planned 🤣

    Thank you for the video very big helps for us, question; what the torque specs for intake manifold bolts, cause I need to clean intake valve my Audi a4 2.0 , thanks,,
    Success always

    • @bofbolts
      @bofbolts  Год назад

      They are aluminum bolts, so it is always recommended to replace them with new ones - the manufacturer torque spec is 10NM but if you are using the old ones I would recommend slightly less.

  • @nahnoxi
    @nahnoxi Год назад +1

    Nice detailed video man. Is there a chance the injectors come out while removing the manifold, and if so is there a big risk by putting them back in without resealing them?

    • @bofbolts
      @bofbolts  Год назад +1

      There is definitely a chance, and if they do you want to reseal them for sure. It’s not worth the risk of a fuel leak and you end up doing the job again. Have a resealing kit on hand from amazon handy, if you don’t use it you can return it.
      If the injectors stay in the head then just make sure the o rings are in good condition and lubricate with any silicone grease.
      Goodluck!

    Great video that will help me tackle this job this weekend! One quick question - how did you access the 10mm triple square bolt at the bottom of the bracket that goes from the intake to the block?

    • @bofbolts
      @bofbolts  Год назад +1

      It looks awkward on video but you’ll find a spot to get an extension and tripe square in there! I don’t remember the exact combination but you’ll figure it out quick, it’s very simple and not tricky at all.
      Goodluck with the job!

    • @bofbolts
      @bofbolts  2 года назад

      That’s a fairly common code unfortunately for these VW/Audi 2.0’s.
      You’re more than likely in need of a new intake - you could check that the arm controlling the runners is connected and hasn’t popped off.
      I would guess that a new intake would solve your issues.

    i removed my intake manifold because my friend told me my runner flaps were bad and to inspect them. When I reinstalled it I had a nasty gas leak, i checked to make sure all the bolts were tight but they were, any idea of what the issue is? The car is literally pouring gas out. I already checked the nut on the hpfp but it was tight. Thanks for the help.

    • @bofbolts
      @bofbolts  8 месяцев назад

      It’s either the HPFP or it may have something to do with the injectors. Did you inspect the seals to make sure they were not damaged? Also making sure the injectors are seated properly.
      You’ll likely have to take it all apart and inspect.

    • @cannedspace412
      @cannedspace412 8 месяцев назад

      @@bofbolts I just replaced the hpfp, it wasn't leaking. Something I noticed when I took my intake off, unlike yours,my injectors came out with the intake they didn't stay on the block. I ordered a seal kit for the injectors, going to try that. I am pretty sure its my injector seals not seated properly.
