      I'm laughing at myself, bc I saw the thumbnail and thought "Finally, a mani where the nails stay long!". Nope! Nails still got filed all the way down, but it's the nail bed that's long. What an illusion! I have super short nail beds and very small hands, so long nails are a must for me! Also, I cannot let my fingers get fat, they need to stay slim or my hands look too stubby. But ugh, what I'd give for long nail beds like hers, they make her fingers look so elegant. I know some women complain about having spider-long fingers, but I personally envy them. If you're one of these women, count yourself lucky bc to me, your fingers look divine!

    Today I decided to file my uber long oval nails a bit short to rid them of the damaged tips, and I followed the tips given by you in your soft oval shaping video (like not pressing the file on the sides too much, and keeping the polish on when I was shaping them) and they helped so much!! Thank you TSL! 💕

    I loved watching this video. I am a newly qualified nail tech and find this so helpful. One question I have if you didn’t mind answering, should cuticle remover be used before doing gels? Or always do dry manicure before gels? Or any other creams that you mention in your other videos should be used before gels? Is it possible to get this finish on the prep with using a hand file, I am not yet competent at using an e-file. Thank you ❤

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  Год назад

      Hi Lucy! You ideally don't want to be soaking the nails before any enhancement application. You can totally prep the nail by hand. Push back the living skin and then you can remove the cuticle as you are removing shine from the nail plate using 240 or 180 grit (for gels/acrylic etc)
      Cuticle remover (always rinsed with water) can be used for regular polish because then you are not really treating the nail plate with 180 or 240 grit, only maybe 240 buffer.

    I love this manicure! Anna, can you post your cure times during the manicure?
    Also On an older video you didn’t see any benefit to the extended-wear base coat. Before I purchase a new bottle of basecoat, would you now recommend the extended-wear?

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  2 года назад +1

      Hello Donna! Sorry I overlooked your question. The cure times are standard for any CND Shellac manicure. I only recommend curing in CND lamp and each setting (base/color/top) has their own button.
      I still don’t know about the extender. I like the application and soak off. I think it wears the same. Is the new base coat more expensive where you are? I have to check the price over here.

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  2 года назад +1

      Over here the new base is 32€ and the original is 25.60€. Plus 21% tax. So much more expensive. Now I have to compare it side by side.

    • @donnamahoney8589
      @donnamahoney8589 2 года назад

      Thanks Anna! I’ll search for it here! Thanks for your comment re the cure times! I’ll stop asking you! LOL! Gotta invest in a CND lamp!!

    Hello, am I able to use that offly fast to remove regular gel polish?

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  2 года назад

      Yes it’s acetone and some oils. For regular polish I usually use acetone. You can also make your own mixing some water into the acetone and few drops of glycerine and some non fragrant oils meaning like sunflower oil etc

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  2 года назад

      Hi Debbie! You mean to cut the skin around the nails? I remove the cuticle (dead skin) from the nail plate using the e-file with the gentle bit. I don't cut the living skin around the nails. I explain the difference between living skin (Proximal Nail Fold) and dead skin (cuticle) often on this channel.
      Here is one of the videos that explain it:

Can one order specific IBD Advanced Wear Pro Lacquer colours without the Just Gel Polish? Can one order colour you may not have on the website? I do have the colour swatch of all the colours except any new collections that they may have brought out recently.
