We just got started on Vine! Watch us there, too!
I'm from another country and I am shocked at how expensive "fake" jewelry is in the United States and it's even worse when you turn green just from the second or first time putting it on!
Yes here in spain it's almost the same as real and it doesnt go green on youre skin , it's just good
@@kitchenmaster907 welp ik where I'm moving
What are you talking about it’s 10 dollars
@@lilalvin0133 damn fake jewellery in the uk is like one pound lmao
@@00imz wow just wow
Clear nail polish is a life saver, I always have a bottle in my bag.
astcat We agree! It is also great for stopping a run in your tights. We love a multi-use product.
Is any kind of clear mail polish work or does it have to be a certain kind
@@kelseygraydon3019 just any kind of clear nail polish will work!
I'm 53 and my mother taught me that nail polish trick when I was young!
emzadia Some tricks stand the test of time! This is one of them.
Thanks for watching!
it's the best trick! xx allison
I learned this a long time ago, too, but what about the chain of a necklace? Wouldn’t nail polish make it all stiff? Or does it only apply to rings and bracelets?
Same my mom taught me when I was 11.
Thank you for this tip, if you even see this after so long. I'm doing bracelt making with strecth magic cording. I was doing research on Pewter hanger beads and came across your video.
Thank you so much!
My partner gave me a copper ring that turns my skin green, i didn’t want to tell them! So I came across this video and it saved me! Thank you!!❤😊
I don't wear custom cocktail jewelry - you can get cocktail jewelry in sterling silver and stainless steel and sometimes sterling silver and stainless steel can cost less and look more expensive. Also clear nail polish locks in rhinestones from falling out of brooches
What if you got a freaking necklace. Do you dip the whole thing in shellac?
Use Krylon “Clear Glaze” spray

“How do we stop this pandemic”. “Stop buying costume jewelry but that’s not happening “ - 2015
She said epidemic 💀
I will not buy better jewelry because that’s too expensive. I buy mine for jokes so I don’t want to spend real money on it.
Why did I never think of this
does it work for gold plated chains?
I have a ring made from a silver dollar, it’s turned the skin underneath green. So this was very helpful!
Try sanding the inside of the ring so it might stay on a little bit better! 😊
Thanks ladies! I have a wedding ring I haven’t been able to wear for like a month because I jammed my finger but now it’s too small. So being bummed that I haven’t been able to wear it because of how long I’ve been married I decided to take some left over copper pipe and make a ring that fits. It turned out amazing but it tarnished over night and turned my finger green. I’m going to use this hack. Thank you.
But what about necklaces? Wouldn’t nail polish the chain stiff?
Hairspray works 👍
@@JadeIsAlright Really? I can't wait to try it!!! Thanks for the tip 🌹
I absolutely love the tip but have a quick question. I have. A few pieces that I love to wear that are vintage and worth a bit of money. Not real but early 1900s. Will the clear nail polish be ok or will it hurt my antique/vintage pieces
Sorry for a very late reply, Jenn. I'm assuming since your pieces are vintage, you should take many precautions towards what you do with them. Using this tip might be bad for those pieces since the pieces they're covering in the video aren't that vintage. I'd suggest just wearing those vintage pieces for certain events and not over wearing them, as they only turn your skin green after a certain amount of time.
I've been trying to wear fake earrings forever as I've only ever warned real gold jewelry. Tried a few times wearing fake jewelry such as earrings, necklaces, and rings and turned green my skin. Only bracelets seemed to never turned my wrist green. Do I still use clear polish on fake earrings and whatever else aside from rings?
I have a gold plated ring, if I use the clear coat on it, will it stop it from tarnishing as well as stop it from turning my skin green? If not, will I still be able to polish it even if it has the clear coat on it?
also it helps to make sure the fake diamonds on the jewelry does not fall
Nina Cubana Yes! We hate it when our jewels fall out of our jewelry! Thanks for the great tip!
in my country it's really common and really cheap to have these kind of jewelry, hand made and custom, sadly it's often bothersome, I still love this
Very useful.. Thank you so much for the tip..
Ok I thought it was because my finger was about to fall off cause the ring was a bit tight 😂
Lol did she just say epidemic? 😂😂😂
I know about the nailpolish trick... but a weave style necklace? This would just gunk up the hingpoints.
Clear polish, thought so
Omg I regret washing the dishes with my ring I got form ring but dont fake jewelry do that or does fake jewelry not exist I mean at least it doesn't happen with necklaces
Legodog890 it is fake nibb
hey, may i ask in the case of a pandora bracelet, what about the chain of a necklace? Wouldn’t nail polish make it all stiff? Or does it only apply to rings and bracelets? please advise
Wait wait wait wait......WHAT IS THE "RUN IN YOUR PANTYHOSE TRICK"?! 😲
I haven't worn pantyhose since 1996 but when they come back in style I'll be equipped with this information.
What about a necklace?
Thanks you! My boyfriend got my a ring and it's turning be green cause I have sweety hands. No more!
Or just use Tarnish-Me-Not!
There per dagger earrings that I want but so consider ing it
Theres nothing "gross" about oxides.
i did this & it didn’t work
what about turning your skin black ?
this keeps happening w my glasses 😔
Can i use gel nail polish
Silver isn't costume jewelry
Does not work. Also, this will ruin the shiny surface of your costume jewelry.
Soooo a can of clear coat should do it
Allison kinda looks and sounds like Lyndsay Lohan, no?
if I close my eyes it's like if I was listening to Lindsay Lohan talk
or you can wear GOLD
No
Not everyone has enough money to buy gold.. also sometimes custom necklaces look better or have the style that you like and you can’t find one that is gold.
Nice #beautystrokes
Absolutely far out! I can only whare a scuba diving watch ⌚️.
It's sealed the chemical reaction from me will break any watch within 20 minutes.
Uunfixable
Just don’t buy cheap jewellery
Yeah n hit
Or maybe it’s because it’s f-ing fake
Just dont wear Fake stuff
This happens to me even with my sterling silver necklaces so it doesn't just occur with costume jewelry though it is more prevalent with it.
1 omg 😊
Oldest trick in the book
GeeTrysMakeup It is a classic, right?! Thanks for watching :)
Does this work for gold plated?
