    E-M10 and E-M1 seems to fix the macro blocking/mud when recording action/complex scene that plague the past olympus video, which IMHO is a worth while improvement

    Great video, I just got the E-M10 but was wondering how much better 5 axis would be, I can see a noticable improvement in the walking/panning shots (still hugely better than no-stabilisation), but otherwise pretty similar.

      From what I read online the E-M10 will be fine for photography. But for video the E-M5 is much better.

    What about stills. Can you compare their performance with stills?

      Already done ;)

    This was a good video for me that has plans to buy the E-M10, I did think the E-M10 had a bit better video quality with better dynamic range or or was this just for lighting had change between shots? Btw, would it be possible to make a video that show image and video features like timelaps and HDR and so on?

      Unfortunately I don't have the camera anymore. The difference between the two could be the natural light that was going down.

    much sharper image on the em5 I think. Can you confirm that?

    Interesting. I really wonder how much worse it is compared to e-m1. Looks the IS crops way into the frame(?). Does this degrade image quality or how is the sensor utilized in video mode in Oly cameras?

      The IS slightly crops the frame on the E-M10 because it also uses electronic stabilization in addition to the 3 axis. I didn't see a noticeable loss of image quality, perhaps it losses a little bit of sharpness but I'll have to check further ;)

    Thanks for the review. The EM5 video looks way sharper ! What lens did you use on it ?

      I use the new 14-42mm f/3-5 and 5.6 on both cameras. I will do further test to check if the E-M10 is less sharp in video mode. technically, the E-M10 doesn't have the AA filter so it should be sharper :)
      The E-M10 video nitrate is the same as the E-M1 (24mbps).

      Thanks for your answer. A real pity Olympus doesn't care about video (as ibis is fantastic) !!!

    Hi Mathieu....does the stabilization system of the OMD EM10 work well with old vintage lenses? Did you try this? Cheers!

    • @MathieuGasquetMirrorLessons
      @MathieuGasquetMirrorLessons  10 лет назад +1

      Hi Victor, I haven't tried it with vintage lenses but since the stabilisation is not related to the lenses it shouldn't be a problem.

      I have the EM-5 and in lenses that are older and not electronic, ones that don't send back focal length information to the camera, only 2 of 5 axis can be used for stabilisation. I have not had the chance to try this out yet though.

    Which model best for photography

    • @MathieuGasquetMirrorLessons
      @MathieuGasquetMirrorLessons  5 лет назад

      The E-M10 has better high ISO and a few extra features like live composite. The E-M5 has 5-axis stabilization for stills and weather sealing.

    i want to take video in 60fps or 25fps with this camera but i cant...just have 30fps ... what i do ???????????
    please heeeeelp :((((((((

    • @MathieuGasquetMirrorLessons
      @MathieuGasquetMirrorLessons  6 лет назад

      I don't think either camera can record in 60fps. They're older models so I'm pretty sure the E-M5 is limited to 30fps.

    to bad the em10 is not weather sealed

    • @MathieuGasquetMirrorLessons
      @MathieuGasquetMirrorLessons  11 лет назад

      I think it is the only major difference with the E-M5. But it isn't necessary a bad thing. You just need to be more careful in some situations. My X100s isn't weather sealed but that didn't stop me even during rainy days.
