  • CANCER: a very scary word. Understand how METABOLIC SYNDROME, INSULIN RESISTANCE AND INFLAMMATION AFFECT YOUR RISK AND STRATEGIES TO DIMINISH YOUR RISK. If you have cancer, how can you make CHEMOTHERAPY more effective and reduce rates of recurrence and growth of residual tumor. I am not an expert but this is such an important topic I want you to think!

I underwent chemotherapy last year and some radiation in January 2024 for ovarian cancer. They were never concerned about my diet, my weight or my in nailing levels. After reading about Dr. Seyfried’s metabolic theory I questioned the radiologist about it. She was not familiar with it and could offer no advice. I am currently having periodic scans and bloodwork to see if the cancer is returning, especially since ovarian cancer is a recurring cancer. Their lack of interest in anything beyond chemotherapy and radiation is very frustrating. I plan on starting the KETO diet and intermittent fasting asap. Thank you for this information.

I have been using keto/carnivore as one of my biggest strategies in my battle against stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I am 13 months in, I sailed through the first phase of chemo and I definitely credit carnivore with that. Then, the immunotherapy shut down my adrenal function. I had an adrenal crisis and landed in the hospital. I am now steroid-dependent and I had to add some carbs back in when I was navigating adding those steroids. I wasn’t able to hydrate well. I have since gotten back into therapeutic ketosis a few times, but I’ve had a few challenges with the oral chemo & steroid management. I’m not able to fast without nausea, which means I need another medication or more steroids to avoid a life-threatening crisis, and it is a cycle. I know how to get there again, and this chapter has an end, I just need to get through this part now. I’m allowing myself a bit of grace. Anyway, thank you for this video! I’m documenting everything on my channel in case it can help someone else. ❤

One of the scariest things I hear in FB carnivore groups is that being carnivore makes you immune to skin cancer and that you don't need to use sunscreen. We don't know this. I live in Hawaii and I don't wear sunscreen, but I limit my time in the sun to early morning . there are so many environmental factors that impact us every day that you can't say 100% immune, but you can definitely reduce the risk by staying carnivore, exercising regularly etc.

I spent the $150 for Dr. Seyfried's 2012 thesis. I think he's onto something. However, in researching the issue further, I see that it's quite complex and the scientists are still trying to figure out cancer metabolism/the Warburg Effect, etc. I'm not a scientist, but an attorney. But I do note that it's rare that someone whose credential is an MD only is going to figure this out. Rather, like Seyfried, a PhD in hard sciences like biology, chemistry, cellular genetics. This may explain why many hard scientists understand and endorse Seyfried's work; but most MD cancer oncologists are still largely unaware or otherwise don't understand or dismiss the hypothesis.

Dr. Seyfriend is more hot air than anything else. His press/pulse theory to treat cancer is really garbage. The idea that you can starve cancer by not eating carbs is just not possible. I agree, that it may help slow the progression, but you will always have a blood sugar level even if you eat zero carbs or no food at all, so cancer will always have glucose as fuel. Besides, even Dr. Seyfriend says that if somehow you managed to get blood glucose to zero (which is not possible) then cancer can still use glutamine which you can't really restrict because all cells need it. So basically it's a dead end for curing cancer.

It’s ironic in a way, if you have high insulin which is keeping your blood sugars down, it should reduce your cancer risk unless that process breaks down and can’t keep the blood sugar down. Then it’s the chronic inflammation that’s the catalyst for cancer development with high blood sugar feeding the cancer and allowing it to masticate and spread.
1- So if you keep with a low carb/carnivore lifestyle, you will greatly reduce your risk of cancer.
2-There is reliable studies underway showing the Co vid shot has greatly increased cancer risk which is accounting for younger populations coming down with cancer(naturally this is oversea studies, US won’t acknowledge nor allow studies with federal funding). So the 3-4 booster population should seriously change to a low carb lifestyle to prevent this in the future.
3-People are going to be skeptical of cancer being caused by metabolic disease since the past 40 years the medical industry has be lying and covering up. Seed oils over sat fat, food pyramid, cholesterol causing heart disease, and now the population reduction shot forced on us.
But I have faith in you, and will still listening to your advice and guidance.

Her oncologist wants to start her on a peptide drug, octreotide, which disrupts the insulin pathway. I am concerned with her insulin going even lower. Her doctor isn't saying anything about the fact that her insulin is low and how this could mess with her blood sugars. I am advising her to ask questions about this. And also to contact keto/cancer practitioners as this is out my league. Couldn't she become type 1 diabetic? Any help you could offer here?

I suspect that infection would cause cortisone levels to go up. If that is true, then it would increase blood glucose levels for awhile. When the infection goes away, cortisone and blood glucose levels will fall back to what they were.

Lol, one reason to not adapt a ketogenic diet could be Crohn's disease. I tried to adopt keto and caused a big flare :(
