Hi all thanks for dropping comments, I do read every single one of them and just want to clarify a few things. Firstly, there seems to be a lot of comments saying “I’m making the warrior sound better than it is” it’s just a video about the changes, you can interpret how good you think they are based on the information provided. Everything said in the intro about having the strongest survival cool downs in the game and being a solid tank, I absolutely stand by which leads me on to point 2) when it comes to “best tanks” paladin and dk are preferred over warrior for specific reasons such a dsac with the pally, superior aoe threat, ardent defender etc or the amazing single target threat and survivability of a DK BUT and it’s a big BUT, a protection warrior can and will clear all content in WotlK and ultimately I would rather take a good player on a warrior over a mediocre player on any other tank.
I can appreciate that, but don't you think this is a bit of a dodge? It's not about what you said in the video (which I agree was mostly just listing changes). Multiple different people didn't just get this idea out of nowhere. It's about the dishonest thumbnail specifically mentioning warriors as the best main tank in WotLK. To act like you don't understand this is to insult the intelligence of your audience, and I know that's not what you intend to do. I'm someone who watches your content because it's an interesting subject to me and I appreciate you do a lot of the research into these topics because I understand how hard it is.
It seems to me that your audience is giving you feedback and telling you that this sort of unaddressed clickbait doesn't go over well with them. Not everyone agrees with that sentiment, of course, so it's up to you to decide the best course to retain viewers. I understand the reality of RUclips, and know that clickbait thumbnails are an important driver of views, but that shouldn't come at the expense of potential misinformation to a player who might not understand the game well enough to know that the thumbnail is completely untrue. I can't tell you what the best solution is. Something I've seen some other streamers/content creators do is to address the clickbait immediately after the video starts and say something like "OMG, warrior best main tank?!?....Probably not, but they are still really good and you'll be able to readily clear all content with them, despite them being considered the weakest of the 4 tanks."
Perhaps there is another, better, solution. I'm just pointing out what bothered me (and apparently other people) and letting you know how I think, as an audience member, you can retain your audience better! It could be that it's not helpful, or I'm wrong, or I don't speak for the minority. But, hey, what are the comment sections for if not that?
Main tank in my guild was warr, ot was druid. We cleared all the content. Wotlk is about bring the player not the class. Pala tank is OP with argent defender etc but you can enjoy whole expansion without min maxing etc

Well said Scotty. The whole issue is that the bugs on Warmane for Warriors lasted years until they were fixed causing rumour to be accepted as truth. Now the entire pre lk discussion is about private servers and specifically based off of warmane players opinions leading to a snowball effect of people saying since paladins will make even gold farmers seem as if they're good tanks that warriors suck because of bad scripting.
The reality is that the first US 25 man LK heroic kill was main tanked by the warrior duxlol of Alpha and he was the raid group MT all the way through. RiP tankspot.
Further more just because warriors and bears have last stand rather than a auto talent doesn't make them a worse tank, just a tank with a higher skill ceiling. So yes gdkps will use a pally and dk but other guilds etc won't need them.

I was a warrior main tank in vanilla, BC, and some of wrath. I have to say I dont get the prot war hate in wrath. I felt SO much better as a warrior tank in wrath than I did in BC. Warriors were way more inferior at aoe tanking in bc than they are in wrath (thunderfury aside), and while people rant about crushing blows in bc, well geared bear armor and hp gives them way more than 50÷ more effective health vs physical than an equally geared warrior tank, making crushing blows an overstated point. Not to mention warriors still do get crushed on occasion since many BC bosses that are heavy melee hitters CAN sometimes smack more than 2 times in 5 seconds, especially if they parry your tank or a baddie melee that wasnt behind.
I played some dk in wrath too, and I loved my dk, but I actually preferred tanking on my warrior because on a dk you use something like death and decay, aand then you put up diseases and spread them, boom, all your runes are on cd for like 4 seconds or something. It makes them very terrible at handling accidental asspulls and screwups after the initial pull. I feel like warriors were so much better at being able to do their job even after dung hits the fan, while a DK was like a lab-controlled situational efficiency machine that suddenly falls apart as soon as something unexpected happens.
I realize tryhards pretend screwups never happen, but I actually like playing with people who are less strict with being meta all the time, who arent opposed to playing while drunk or high, so that sort of thing matters to me.
90%+ of the tryhards arent half as good as they think either IMO. Every time I end up in groups with the super elitist server firsting guild for pugs or 5 mans, they are no better than my half drunk buddies most of the time, they just spend dozens of hours of farming consumes and crap pre raid and put on their work uniform for their big raid time.
Thank you for posting this! I was debating whether to go Prot warrior again in WOTLK or reroll. I love warrior and I did really well in TBC as prot even though people said it's the worst tank. I see a lot of prot war hate coming again, but I know my guild knows that I know what I'm doing. I've decided I will stick with my warrior because I love the playstyle so much.
@@valeriew8153 In wrath, you can focus more on defensive stats than offensive and still have good threat. Devastate is like sunderx2 with some damage. But One thing I really enjoyed were ridiculously large shield slams. That move nukes in wrath IIRC. Oh yeah, 5 min cooldown shield wall. lawl. I think it was 5. I'm going by 12 year memory here, not looking it up, I swear =P.
Plus you get dual spec. So like. you know, you can go fury when not taking. Some people like arms in wrath, claim it's good cuz the +4% raid melee damage or whatever it is, but I always think those kind of things are more for players who aren't as good to help the raid a bit without sacrificing much of t heir own personal dps since it isn't the greatest already. But a good player shouldn't need no group buff to prop up their worth (unless it doesn't actually cost you much personal dps that is).
LEVELING as arms on the other hand is so amazing since you can overpower without having to be dodged, holy dung.
Exactly way i am thinking of this game, yesterday some 3 guys from elitist guild voted out guy from my guild in rnd dungeon because he was rogue. WTF, how toxic community can be is amazing. Luckily i did made friends who are relaxed and cool like me and we are having bunch of fun. As tank i still hate to go rnd because I see all of those dps elitists just intercepting my pulls or pulling mobs themselves what make me mad because they are not letting me play the game they just make me chase lose mobs for them. What is difficult for them in letting tank pull mobs and give him 2 sec to build agro and then nuke the shit out of mobs i will never understand and i played dps my whole life.

A lovely perk for the potential prot warriors: Enraged Regeneration works based on your current max health so you can combo with Last Stand or trinkets/items that increase your max hp for a bigger heal. Good for those oh shit moments.

Gosh, that reminds me of my (brief) time on the Elitist Jerks forum and chat with all the Prot Warriors discussing how to maximise Shield Slam to insane levels (even at the expense of anything else) and were in competition with each other to see who could screenshot the biggest hit.
That, and how Prot PvP was actually quite fun. No-one expected you to body actual proper PvP specs, but we did when the stars aligned. And being really hard to kill, really disruptive and being a great big distraction for enemy tunnel vision.
@@andromidius Prot Warrior in WotLK was one of the best PvP builds of ALL time! They actually counter most classes hard especially the Stier ones which is what started the Tank PvP hate. They were 1 shotting mages but keep in mind they can break mage roots, 10 sec spell reflect, ranged silence and will lead in dispells since Shield Slam dispells. With a ton of other tools like 2 stuns, fear, disarm, etc... Rogues are always a huge PvP threat but Prot Warriors are immune to them because of damage shield. A rogue can open on you and without even attacking they are at 60% HP since their fast attacks just cause more damage returned. Prot Warriors are an all around nightmare in the hands of a skilled player and there were several legendary Prot Warriors over 3k rating in Arena. Prot Warrior in Wrath was the pinnacle of Tank design.

Prot Warrior in WotLK was the pinnacle of Tank design. I have always mained Prot Warrior for 1 reason...Obliterate my enemy with YUUUGE Shield Slams. I play Prot to do damage just shield block value and arm pen all the way! Then damage shield is great to make you immune to those pesky rogues. Also they have one of the best tool kits so in the hands of a skilled player Prot Warrior can do anything. Great video on the deep dive into what is changing.
As a warrior main, Wrath was a rough patch in 2009/2010. Before Ulduar you were top damage, deep wounds stacked infinitely, then it was nerfed and warriors did way less damage and you were middle to bottom until ToGC when you got a good amount of armor pen, then you finally got back to the top after months and months of being trash.
Prot warriors were always overshadowed by DKs and paladins, DKs were insane tanks for a long time until they finally nerfed it down and made them just absurdly good.
Prot warriors didn't get much change throughout WotLK and never got their time to shine.
We are going to get the last patch like private servers, prot will be serviceable but never be great and DPS will drag until late ToGC where you finally get enough armor pen.
i remember having really fun playing prot warrior during wotlk. never tanked a raid, but heroics were less stressfull as when i played paladin.
@Sproose Moose Warriors are still top DPS in TBC and are still good tanks. you can have people parse 100s with warrior tanks, good warriors have zero threat issues.
In wrath they will be the prot paladins of TBC.
@Sproose Moose WotLK will be the death of the classic journey. People will come back, then leave in droves once they realize the Ulduar hype is not what people made it out to be. more will quit on ToGC, then a few will come back for ICC but the game will basically end soon after people kill Lich King. It will be like SoM is right now.

Shield Wall actually blocks 60% of all incoming damage, not 50% like you said in the video, so the glyph reduces the effect by 20% for 1 minute shorter cooldown. wotlkdb.com/?spell=871
Really easy to pick up what you put down in these vid's. Got to say i think talking to prot warriors in particular is a very small group of people going into wrath. Its a shame the meta is so hardcore some times. Nobody rolling with a warr boy then xD
3.3.5 Prot Warrior and not insanely broken DK is going to be really nice for Warrior tanking in WOTLK. Fire up the jewel crafters and get those armor penetration gems going!

I’ve never tanked in raids before, only healed them. I’m considering my primary alt being a warrior tank in wrath. I feel like this video pushed me over the edge for that choice! For reference, I’m considering the primary alt being warrior or shaman. Shaman look dope in wrath too though…
prot war are not that good, he was a little emotional on this video, no decent guild will bring a prot war because they dont bring any utility to the raid and the other tanks are just better
The tanks people are gonna bring are ProtPal, and bloodfrost DK. Maybe some of the kitties will activate their guardian offspec when you need more tanks, but ProtWar just isn't as good as the others. Paladins have stupidly good survivability, utility. and AOE threat. Bloodfrost are superior survivability and fantastic for generating threat as the OT, because they aren't as reliant on getting hit.
While the high EHP means that bears can survive the biggest hits, they mitigate less, meaning they tax the healers more, and the utility they bring isn't as high as the paladin.
Prot warr has the better cooldowns, but outside of them, the other tanks are just superior in terms of threat, utility, and survivability. Warriors are based on blocking, and bosses hit hard enough that blocking isn't enough to keep up.
Ibwould suggest if you are going to bring an alt tank and its going to be your first time tanking, jist go prot paladin in wrath. Prot warrior is notorious for being the worst tank in wrath.
@@haldir108 I raided a lot as prot in wotlk. Had no problem. Sure it’s a bit stressful at times, but someone has to do it.
Might be a big more frustrating with all the min/maxing cunts we’ll see this time around. But that’s just how it is
Lol I'll probably get flamed for this, but all these hard meta chasers who are saying warriors are not worth playing etc. can go suck a fat one. Sure they may be at a disadvantage with certain things, but theres no substitute for player skill. My guess is there will be hundreds of dk/pally tanks in wrath who suck ass and picked that class because they're meta, and there will be some devoted prot wars that proceed to dumpy on them in every aspect because they're actually good at the game. From my experience, alot of the sweaty meta chasers tend to use meta classes as a substitute for being sub optimal players (NOT ALL, BUT ALOT). In tbc for example the amount of people who rerolled hunter and proceeded to pull garbage dps was astounding. In shadowlands, my favourite class frost dk (dont hate) was put into D tier, yet I topped the damage meters 80% of the time in guilds full of 'meta gamers' all rolling s and a tier classes. This may be an edgy comment - but tldr: there will be prot warriors that are gods walking among mere meta mortals, and prot warriors are 100% viable for all content in wrath. Go shower you meta mongrels, your sweat stinks.

Just an insight-- Warrior's Taunt and Challenging shout is dependent on (physical) hit rating since Patch 2.3.0 . I imagine the intended use of the Taunt glyph is for early on the gearing process when it's difficult to muster enough hit, or even situational boss taunt scenarios where the warrior goes full mitigation gear and just piggybacks off of the other tanks threat with a guaranteed Taunt.

I appreciate your overview of the changes, but in your opinion, is prot war even viable in modern (classic) WotLK? Every tier list has it sitting in D tier; however, I heard that same nonsense about the demise of warriors before tbc and now warriors are still tanking and doing crazy DPS. I MT WotLK as a warrior back in the day, but we didn't know but a fraction of what we know now.
They are Viable, just not the best.
DK has better single target threat and more effective health, they take more damage but habe higher health pool.
Paladin has better single target and aoe threat and a cheat death mechanic with a lot more raid utility than any tank.
Druid has better single target threat early on, better aoe threat later due to scaling, higher effective health pool, they do take more damage but they have higher health pool.
Warriors are better on progression as an offtank for aoe compared to paladins due to 100% block chance, at double block value, with 60% chance to block that amount doubled again. Paired with the return 20% of block value to all block attacks. Wont be as much threat as a paladin on farm content, but take a lot less damage in these situations.
They also are a great offtank for DK, DK get hit hard and have 0 issues with single target threat, so an extra 3% reduction with Vigilance is great.
Plus their mobility is unmatched with 3 in combat charges.
Not a bad tank by any means, will just need the best gameplay to be strong.

@@cabercrombie13 no worries, as a Paladin Tank I enjoy having warriors charge around collecting loose mobs rather than having to move myself :P Death Grip for DK is immune on a lot of raid mobs so that's less useful. And warriors probably have the best offspec role.
You wouldnt drop a DK or Pally tank, warrior dps is stronger than those 2 at the time you want to drop a tank. And druids, there just generally is not a lot of benefit to having a druid tank in comparison, better off having a feral dps that plays exceptionally well, or a boomkin who can actually keep their debuffs up rather than just focus on their damage.
@@MitchellNabkey well I main an arms warrior atm but have a geared prot paladin too. I'd intended to tank on my warrior but that dream died when my guild was a tbc casualty. Trying to decide whether I want to main tank as prot paladin or keep the class dream alive and maybe play early prot warrior then switch to fury late. Prot warrior is fun AF in WotLK for mobility alone.

I just dont find the concept of being compared to a dps who has shadowmourne when you dont even close to fun. And due to scaling they will probably always go to warrior > ret > dk.
They take what 10ish weeks to get, there will probably be 2-3 fury per 25, 1 ret, so close to a year before dks will get them in hardcore guilds, and before tanks can get one for a spec transition (which you probably wouldnt get due to people quitting with BIS and new players wanting it).
But tanking early as a warrior and switching to a fury probably at the end of ulduar tier is a good idea, theu really start to take off then. Look at TOGC raid, beasts is pretty meh, but the demon youll be cleaving infernals all fight, valks will be stacked and cleaved, so much cleave on faction champs, and in theory you should be able to destroy the adds on anub, so very high dps from the fights and ICC you just go off from gear scaling!!!!
Edit: and as a guild, I think they would prefer to have a warrior tank early when dk is weak, and switch the extra frost dk for a blood dk at the time the warrior switches from tank to fury. Id be inclined to give that warrior shadowmourne rather than a warrior who was carried early on. I also wouldnt personally have a lot of warrior dps early at all, but our guild would have other dps that re-roll warrior and get fed gear when that happens. Just my $0.02.
With ship lock having such a long cooldown how do warriors even mitigate damage? Just all the passive and stuff?
Great video brotha. Still love watching all of your content! I remember back in the day I played a prot pala in wrath and my buddy could never rip threat and felt like he didn't have as good of defensive CDs. Does that hold up in your experience? Keep doing what you do!

When did they change glyph of devestate? It used to hit an extra target. Nvm. I was thinking of glyph of sunder armor.
Does anyone know how we can tank Illadin as a prot warrior if there is a 1 min cooldown on shield block? We used to have to use that to stop his sheer. It was on a 5 sec cooldown.
Came back to watch this after the Fury/Arms vid. I’ve played prot paly for the majority of TBC, but all this talk of prot warriors being “garbage” just makes me want to reroll to it instead of sticking with paly. After totally NOT messing around with it on p-servers… prot warriors just feel like so much more fun in Wrath.

I remember how op Prot warr were back in Wotlk. Our Main tank in icc back then was Prot and he was a Bollwerk. Unkillable with his Blood dk mate.
It makes me sad that the min max driven community neglect the Prot warr and putting the Prot pally on a steed because his bigger cds. There are so many videos saying Warrior is bad that I’m really scared that I won’t get taken to raids with my Prot just because on someone’s paper it looks worse then other tanks.

-@4 mins, slight error.- All melee attacks deal double crit damage (200%). All spells deal 150% crit damage unless modified by talents. I think you meant to say thunder clap behaves like a melee attack and not a spell. I'm unsure of the exact details and behavior, like if it follows spell hit cap and whatnot, but 200% crits is good news.

Content is gonna be easy af so it rly doesn't matter your class. But the best tanks in wotlk are Paladin and DK. When you have access to ulduar Druid also gets good, specially for Algalon.
Chill a lil peeps. I get the misleading on the thumbnail but it's still a solid tank class to play with the changes and maneuverability that comes with it. For those that really enjoyed tbc and classic prot warrior, wotlk is even better and that's really the point.

So this vid makes warrior tank sound like its on par with Pala and DK. Not played wrath before, my main in TBC is prot warrior, but from general research, pala or DK are the main tank to go for in wrath? really dont want to waste time levelling a warrior if they cant hack the all of the content. A bit like pala in classic :P
A warrior can clear all content in the game, it wouldn’t be my preference of tank personally but i also wouldn’t turn away a player who is decent just because he is a warrior 🙏
It’s a fun class. The other tanks are “better” but you can clear anything with a warrior tank as well. DK/Pala/Bear is more of “smash what ever button and you’ll be fine”-classes, while with warriors you have to think while playing

Your talent analysis could be so much better. What matters how the talenrs compare to one another for threat, def. Not what each talent does on paper but what you forgo by picking it up. For example, I'm doubtful that damage shield will ever be worth taking over any other talent due to its low impact. Even if it's "always dealing reflective damage" (it's not-hi parry, dodge, miss) it's probably not "what you want"

1more thing.. to all warrior dps players dont fucking play fury at naxx season coz u will be bottom dps in every raid (on ulduar actually same thing)
X2 feral x1 prot paladin is the current meta in tbcc in most decent guilds and performing guilds. Don’t be under the impression warrior threat is enough anymore because it is not. Literally from here on forwards Into p4,5 wotlk till several expansions later. Warriors will just fall short with the introduction of death knights, the major rework on prot paladins and feral druids getting cool downs.
This narrative of Prot Warriors not being brought by any "decent guild" is just so wrong lol. World first Mount Hyjal and BT had a Prot Warrior MT, majority of great guilds out there still run a Prot Warrior. A Prot Warriors single target threat is NOT as good as a feral, but even against a T6 4pc prot paladin, you will rip off of them in single target fights as a Prot Warrior if you press your buttons and you're not geared in full mit. I can show you plenty of logs from great guilds were the MT is a warrior. Even come WoTLK you're going to see Warriors MT all the content just fine with 0 hiccups.
The meta is definitely not 2x feral. Its 1 prot pally, 1 prot warrior and 1 feral. Fights like illidan are made way easier with a prot warrior because they can deal with the shear way better than the other tanks.

At this point paladins that gear towards main tanking will just excel so much more futher than a warrior. It is true you still have warriors running around tanking of course. But pay attention to their dps logs and realise why its actually made possible.
@@treemustach x2 stacks / x9 ? Superior threat vs demon as pally / your mediocre threat. Its a no brainer. I can understand the first raid of BT or even the second as paladins T6 gives them that mitigation their looking for and the threat. Their no longer making any sacrifices in their gear quite literally turning into MT material. Everyone knew this tho prot warriors do not scale well with gear and their t6 being so poorly itemized even if you go the fury / pvp off parts route you are essentially geared like a fury warrior for the most part but spec prot. The level of try hard when another class will simply do that job better than you.
If you are still running a prot warrior for CDs like last stand or shield wall. Your healers needs to step up. If the threat from your warrior tank seems good. your dps need to step up. I promise you I tank as a prot warrior with full bis and DST included and i also have a feral tank. your DTPS on a warrior tank is not all that amazing anymore.
But everyone knew this ? they start off strong because the other two tanks really need a lot of gear refinement to be on par. And now in p3 moving into p5 its only going to become more apparent.

I just disagree with the idea that the "meta" is double feral prot pally. You never see that basically ever mostly because there are things the warrior does that trivializes some fight mechanics where the bear and pally has some troubles with it. The meta is just a rough translation of what is the hip thing to do, and double feral is definitely not meta because its not even close to what most guilds are doing. They take one of each.

A grand majority think prot warrior is the worst tanking class due to private servers where the class is incredibly bugged (taking more damage than they should, stats not actually doing what its supposed to and talents not properly aliging its bonuses) Anyone who says that you make warriors seem way better than they are is a idiot.
If properly aligned and properly scripted will be one of the strongest Tanks. They have the biggest health bar, the best Heavy physical soaking due to block and their HP pool.
Warrior is also the strongest DPS you will find in the expansion, they both dominate in Arena as well as Raids. (Fury) anyone who tend to argue that knows nothing about the expansion.
with that said, you wasted quite alot of points in your talents, as Rage will never be a issue unless you don't properly manage it in raids.
SafeGuard is also never used unless under extremely specific circumstances. You are better of putting points into unbrideld Wrath if u want rage, or Imaple in the arms tree to absolute dominate in DPS.
Gag order is only usefull in pvp.
Improved Blood rage is okay, but you can invest those points into something way better, you want Anticipation for 5% dodge chance no matter what you build for.
Toughness is something you should SPECIFICALLY have specced into since you have put points into Armored to the Teeth
Improved Spell Reflection isa a 50/50, it can be super usefull for aoe damage in fights that allows it, Dungeons, PvP or Raiding all goes as well. (You can litteraly oneshot 4 people if you spell reflect a warlock chaosbolt)
You do not want Booming Voice in the fury spec, it's utterly useless, you are better of putting those 2 points into cruelty.
Now GLYPHS, one of the most important parts of this expansions, they absolutely can change your whole rotation.
[Glyph of Shield Wall] reduces the cooldown on Shield wall by 2 minutes, with 20% damage reduction removed from it, Combine this with the talent and you now have a 2 Minute Shield wall, You can also combine this with the Last Stand Glyph, allowing you to fully use Last Stand with Shield wall combined every 2 minutes if required (i like to use them seperately for better survival)
[Glyph of Command] Increases the duration of Command by 2 minutes, lasting 4 minutes in total. This replaces the talent points in Booming Voice.
There are far more Glyphs to Explore, but this is just a example of how you can customize the warrior class to absolutely dominate in tanking and in pvp (Yes Prot war can 2 shot people in wrath)
Warrior had huge issues with aoe threat. I remember having issues holding aoe threat in the spider dungeon.
Experienced warriors will show you how its done in classic WOTLK. All the tools they have, more rage to spend, and super short cooldowns. This class is beyond broken, when played to its full potential.
Warriors AoE is more than fine. They have the same sustained AoE threat as Prot Paladins, but with more control and CC, making Warriors the kings of 5-man dungeon tanking. The problems with Warrior tanking start when you are tanking raids where the boss is smacking you hard.
If you have shit Healers, Warrior boss tanks will be the ones who die first. In a good guild, you will be fine with unbuffed WoTLK content, but on private servers with buffed boss dmg, Warriors just aren't used, because they are simply the weakest of the tanks. They have the lowest effective hp, shit mitigation and no extra life spells like Ardent Defender / Will Of The Necropolis.

In raids however, all that utility is useless, and Warriors have the lowest effective hp and mitigation, and most importantly they lack a lifesaver spell like Ardent Defender / Will Of The Necropolis.
Won't matter with unbuffed content as long as you healers are somewhat competent, but it's still an uphill battle compared to a Paladin or DK main tank.

Both Druids and DKs AoE threat are objectively MUCH worse than a Warr. They are not even on the same continent.
DKs can only do AoE threat when DnD is ready, or Howling Blast if you're tanking as Frost, then they are basically tab targetting Classic/TBC style, praying that the threat done by DnD and their diseases will be enough.
Druids only have swipe....
Warrs have Thunder Clap, Cleave Glyph, Shockwave and Revenge cleave. The only Tank who has an easier time with AoE threat than a Warr is Pala with Consecration.
Please don’t let warmane players dictate what’s good and not. The server is so buggy at times and so much things don’t work as intended. I was a god in wowtlk on my prot warrior. Charging in combat and in defensive stance, 2 min shield wall 2 min last stand 40 seconds on shield block , Thunderclap in defensive stance all makes warrior tanking so much better than the last 2 expansions.

As a FuryProt main in classic and a Prot main in TBC, you're in for a world of hurt if you think you're gonna be good as a tank in WOTLK as a warrior. Don't do it. Go roll pally, bear or DK. Scotty you make this look like prot warrior is awesome... it is not.

Clickbait is bullshit if it's dishonest, and leads people to believe one thing when, in fact, it's directly the opposite. They are not the best MT in WOTLK. They are, in fact, the worst MT in wrath. By a lot, in practically every measurable aspect. Not saying you shouldn't clickbait, it's what you have to do to stay competitive, but you should clickbait with something that is at least not completely the opposite of the truth, unless you're going to address it in video. Making lots of content is one thing, making quality content is another. Bait and switch is a good way to not retain the viewers you have.

For those of you warriors on da copium i gotta pull that plug on you. Phase 1 2x Pali is pref and after phase 1 it will be 1 dk adn 1 pali. War damage is gonn be garbage untill togc25 then will drop off in icc norms but will spike back up with hicc 25s. 1-2 warrs will still be wanted though.

i play warmane long time and war is my main and i can say prot war is one of worst tanks. just my opinion all can be good in good hands
Warrior tanks are much better in wotlk than they were previously, except that all other tanks are MUCH better than warrior tanks in wotlk.
Paladin is everything that a warrior is but much better and then some.
DK is much beefier than the warrior with better single target threat and better offspecs while undergeared for them
Bear beefier than any other tank, but boring AF, same aoe threat as warriors, and not a lot of people can handle the offspec.
Warrior is squeeshier than all the other tanks, has worse threat single target than any other tanks, better aoe threat than dk, the one thing we had was cooldowns and every other tank has them now and paladins have much better ones now.
Pally > Dk / Druid >>> Warrior
While we got buffed, so did everyone else, and we came up on the bottom of it all. We are very good at dungeons but who cares. We also are the best tank for Heroic Anub' arak's adds, but paladins can do it too.
If you wanna play warrior go for it, they CAN tank it all (except probabbly Heroic lich king pre 25% buff), they're my favorite class in terms of fun, but you will have a hard time finding a raid spot (which it already is really hard to find a tank spot in a guild) and you will probabbly get benched over a better class when push comes to shove.
I've been a main tank since original TBC and i've tanked most of mythic content up to BFA, anything that I didnt raid mythic, i did on Heroic.
Doubt you’ll see many if any warrior tanks till MoP Classic, they are not near what they were and hardly comparable to dk, pala and druid

I did not say u cant tank as prot warr I said its the worst tank in survivability when u compare them to protpal,dk,feral and its true, if u guys were playing on private servers where bosses have dmg buffed by 100% u would realize that really quickly but on wotlk classic its gonna be w/e
Prot warr was used to tank in ToC for tanking Anub Adds where u get maximum shield block value and if u put spiked shield enchant on ur shield u were able to be top dps (around 20k dps i remember correctly) but other than that vs those buffed bosses warrior tank was never used he died quickest from all tanks but he was strong vs a lot of adds but prot pal was good for that aswell thats why prot pal is the best tank in wotlk cuz he could survive buffed bosses too
@@zeorg im just skeptical. The prot warrior stigma exists in tbc and it carries on. Prot actually warriors kick ass in TBC. I will agree with you in the most meta/min max sense but that is only intended for the 0.0001% of the player base. Even top 10 speed run guilds run with a prot warrior

Ofc they will work in Classic WotlK with unbuffed content, but if you attempt to MT any HM or HC boss on a server with buffed dmg, the weakness of the class just becomes so much more obvious.
WotLK Prot Warrior objective facts: The lowest effective hp, the worst/lowest avoidance/mitigation and they lack a lifesafer spell like Ardent Defender.
