Great tour vid. Stayed in Tyn Y Cornel a few times. Lovely little hotel with great views and a narrow gauge railway just further along the road. Looking forward to the rest of the tour, particularly Port Merrion.
As a former lorry driver who used to frequently deliver in Wales I can honestly say I never went there when it didn't rain. Then again its rained pretty well everywhere, every day, all summer this year. No wonder you go to the Canary Islands when you can..
@@xl250mon5 Well said mate, TMF thinks he is some sort of celebrity presenter, the Chris Tarrant oracle of motorcycling, everything he says is right and must not be challenged 🤣🤣🤣

Happy memories of Wales in 1963 - went on my Norton 650 ss with a new girlfriend, first time camping with the bike too. Got to a campsite overlooking a lake and as it seemed a bit crowded on the higher part we pitched up right near the lakeside! Of course it rained all night and we found ourselves in a river in the morning, everything was soaked so we decided to head home to Cambridge ….it pissed down all the way home!! I recall stopping in a cafe and when we were about to leave the owner came over with a mop & bucket and told us to mop the floor!!
Haha, i met Ian recently in the chain and sprocket biker cafe! I asked him if i knew him and after id exhausted all my ideas he said have i heard of TMF!! To which i unzipped my jacked to reveal my TMF base layer then looked a little sheepish! Great guy! 👍👍

Morning Andy, we moved away from Mid Wales 5 years ago to look after my wife's mum in County Durham, she passed away recently which is sad but now we are moving back ASAP, house on the market yesterday, we miss those roads and the great people!!!
Beautiful, love the long and winding roads, stone walls, hills, lakes and sea with no caravans. One man’s doorstep or an exotic location I’ve never considered. Cool bridge to make me nervous. At least it wasn’t wet.
Absolute pleasure having you back in Welsh Wales TMF. I’m off to Barmouth tomorrow. The estuary is one of my favourite places in the world. The rain is a myth, it’s the same as England ! You will have passed Fairbourne where for the last month there has been a downed Chinook which the RAF are trying to move by road ! Another fact - Bryan Johnson and Robert Plant did an interview on the wooden toll bridge around 5 yrs ago.
Thanks for taking us along, it always amazes me how those stone walls go on forever. BTW those are not palm trees they are Cordylines, no knit pick intended its just the horticulturist in me.
Yup, had a long weekend in Wales and it took a strip down, hands and knees, old paintbrush and various products to clean the bike. Still love Wales though!
Another joyous piece of landscape and conviviality. Lovely to watch people maximising life in such a way. I have Just put a deposit on a used GS after having my Bike Stolen, said I never would (after a few lack of nods from some GS'ers) then came a test ride.. Say no more. Punk rocker. No more.
Andy - Mrs. Flyer does a great job. Can I propose that, when you are on tour, you handle the on-bike narration and she take the lead on all the off-bike narration, interviews, features of course the room and restaurant reviews to her? She has a knack that adds to your tour vids, and you should encourage her to a large role in the vids. To Mrs. Flyer - seize the mic and tell Andy to take the pillion post for awhile!
Oh wow, I’ve just had breakfast with a bunch of great people. Thanks for that gang and what an upcoming bunch of budding presenters. Superb video. No cake??🤔😉
It’s terrific to watch you glide along the amazing roads, taking in the beautiful scenery that is mid to north Wales. Being a native of Cardiff I used to similarly take off for weekend rides on my Triumph Bonne or red Honda 400F2. However, this was in the early 1980’s, and the experience was not always positive unfortunately. Every pub we stopped at either had a sign stating No Bikes or the staff refused to serve us. And trying to pop into a B&B for Saturday night was met with more refusals. We weren’t Ogri-lookalikes but no matter. Contrast that with trips to visit friends in Wareham, Dorset and our subsequent travels along the south coast to Cornwall and Devon. The country folk were much more welcoming. Cars, bikes, tractors, campervans, all were simply accommodated. So while I love Wales, my best biking days were along the English south coast… and, later, Europe. How times have changed ..or have they? Have you ever been refused at a pub because you are on a bike?
Great video. I'd love to ride Europe someday. I think it's great that you're including Mrs. Flyer in your videos. We need more women involved in motor biking in any role.
Mainly brilliant roads and well looked after. I rode to Barmouth from Shropshire on Sunday and the amount of camper vans now is shocking. I think the driver's of such vehicles should be told that they have more than 3 gears.
This time last year, I was touring Wales on my bike. I started in the Brecons and ended in Snowdonia. It was some of the best fun I've ever had on two wheels. Since then, I've had to sell the bike as i had to have cardio surgery last December. Now I'm getting stronger and fitter again I'm missing the bike more than ever. Hi TMF, great looking scenery and i agree with your comment about don't ignore what is on your doorstep. Where i live(Doncaster) we have within a shortish ride The Derbyshire Peak District ie Matlock Castleton, Bakewell etc and also The Yorkshire dales, The North Yorks Moors and also The LIncolnshire Wolds so i think i am lucky to have all that choice only a short ride away. Keep up with the tour vids as i really enjoy them.
Hi Andy, Just taking you up on your comment about Wales and the wealth of touring opportunities in the UK. We have just completed four months touring Europe on our Gs1200. Got out of Schengen Zone with an hour to spare and landed in Harwich. Full English in Colchester gave us time to look at the map. Next stop, Cat and Fiddle in the Peak District and then onto the Yorkshire Dales. You are not wrong! These Aussies will be coming back next year for an Ireland and UK tour!
I live near Tenby, Pembrokeshire, South Wales and spin that area on my CBF1000 GT on some weekends. Recognise the places you touring around! Great VBlog for a Sunday morning!
I've had a GPX file ready for a few years that takes me to North and South Wales with the wooden bridge and the Mach loop. Not only Wales, also Peak district, Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. Corona threw a spanner in the works and, moreover, your Brexit, which means that we now need a travel pass to come from Europe (Belgium). Due to Corona, our weekend Cottswold also fell into the water in 2020. Fortunately already crossed Wales in the past. But I'll be back...maybe next year although South West Ireland is currently higher on the wish list. But Andy anyway....two riders in your group use the right bike and not a battleship like you :-D And then to say that you also have a GS in the garage.
Wow what great roads and scenery looking at going to wales for a couple of days camping I am sold looking forward to part 2 keep up the great vids Andy 👍

Great vid Andy, as per the norm, on my second viewing. Love the roads in Wales, endless route possibilities. Have to say your "extras" 😂, are now camera naturals. Top channel cheers 👍👍
Thanks for an entertaining video. Last time I stopped at that viewpoint, I was lucky enough to see both a dolphin and a seal swimming about in the sea. Good to see you enjoyed the toll bridge at Penmaenpool. Also, unless things have changed recently, you could have crossed toll free from Morfa Mawddach to Barmouth using the track alongside the railway bridge there. Rather unusually, that route is open to pedestrians, cyclists and motorcycles. I'm not sure how that came about, but RUclips has several videos of bikes crossing that way. Most pedestrians won't be expecting to encounter bikes there though, so I think that route should be treated with caution.
Steller video and views. Your production here is excellent on the video. Beautiful stuff. I love that your wife goes on these tours with you like this; I've been married 32+ years, and my wife has ridden with me a total of 0 times. Sigh.

Wales is always a good choice ,I am fortunate to live a few minutes from the North Wales border . Just make sure you take a good set of waterproofs ,it can be summer around one Valley & winter around the rest . @@TheMissendenFlyer Mr Flyer about the parking & flunky’s I was being tongue in cheek . I don’t think Mr Honda intended the Gold Wing to be parked on gravel ,as they don’t come factory fitted with nobby tyres . I think Million dollar Bogan found a posh hotel in Latin America where the flunky parked his Road King Hog ,but not heard about any doing likewise in the U.K. 👍
@@TheMissendenFlyer In the days of the old BMW’s there were tales of flunkys in high end European Hotels ,offering to carry Krauser side pannier cases to the hotel guests rooms . 👍

It would be hilarious wouldn't it.....
@@TheMissendenFlyer In the days of the old BMW’s there were tales of flunkys in high end European Hotels ,offering to carry Krauser side pannier cases to the hotel guests rooms . 👍
Hey! You and your Group made my decision for this year: i need to come to Wales! You're beatiful people and that Video was absolutly amazing!
I'm driving a GL 1800 DCT from 2021 and i love the UK. Such a beatyfull country and woderfull friendly people. I've been in Scotland already, in 2022 i travel through Cornwall and my next GL trip will be Wales for sure. If you see a Goldwing in red from Germany, that might be me.......😂
Thaks so much for that videos and lovely greetings from Germany (north Bavaria)
You’ll have a great time - I’ll keep an eye out for you!
Yes, there's some very nice roads there in Welsh Wales; pity about the weather, though! Best be a bit careful when you get to Portmeirion, Andy; you could find yourself being The Prisoner! You might be a bit young to remember that, though! 😁
Plenty about that in next Saturday's episode - stay tuned....
That wooden bridge gets very slippery in the wet😮
I bet it does!
