It was time to put all of my Lego Lego city train stuff on the floor and build a nice layout again. Unfortunately not all the trains were running: for that I need (even) a bigger layout. The video contains 30 years of Lego Trains: from the vintage 7740 to the 4588 until the relatively new 3677, Horizon Express and 60051.

This time with the 60051, 60052 trains and 60050 station Lego sets.
Problem was the bridge: the trains were gaining too much speed going down and were derailing in the curve after it. So we took out some 9V sections in the down going ramp and put some PF sections in place so the train motors weren't energized while going down. Problem solved :)

Love the classic 1990's sets, so this is reminiscent for me! Never did I imagine a Lego train infrastructure like this could be added.

I note you must have 2 high speed trains 60051 - you can make 2 coaches from the second set (ie enough piece just to build a second coach with no modification from the 2 engine cars), and this will give you a longer high speed train.

Great Video,love the huge layout and all the trains and definitely the bridges and the speech bubbles,however at 1:24 when the TGV pulls in to the station it would look brilliant if it had interior lights

***** I'm moving in a few months in a bigger house so in theory a bigger track is possible! But I don't know if I'm going to build it yet, maybe in a few years when I have more Lego sets (in the video are almost all of them).
The lights are all white LEDs. The crossing where the white train stops for the grey train is an automated crossing: a sensor detects if there's a train coming. In case, the power of the crossing track is switched off. That's it :)

Hi! Your videos look nice! Maybe you can crank up the framerate a bit so the images become more fluent? I use PowerDirector for video processing. Sometimes I use Adobe Premiere for color grading.

Was it the wires unplugged due to vibrations or the LED that burned out?
It was a loose connection, I only noticed it during the editing of this video.

I don't like "static" Lego cities very much so now and then my girlfriend goes away for the weekend, a friend comes over and we setup a nice train layout. Unfortunately this layout needs to be removed by the end of the weekend :(

Yes, these are all 9V. I have also most RC trains but I've fitted them with a 9V motor. I use the 9V system since I hate replacing batteries ;)
Yes, all 9V. I have almost all RC/PF trains as well but I don't like battery powered trains so I put a 9V motor under them :)

It's an old set from the 80's, set number 7866. It comes as a remote controlled level crossing, I've changed it a bit so now it opens and closes automatically. See also this video of mine:

Private collection. I once a year build a layout like this in the living room.
