Thanks for the video - can’t wait to try this! I have some very very small spots all over my car in random areas. I think they appeared after foaming once and my guess is they are tiny dried soap spots. I tried Lift and that didn’t work. They do come off with Spotless V1. Would Descale be something to try for these?
Based on all the info you provided, Descale should work great to remove them.
@@SkyCarCare thanks! To me they look like tiny little soap spots and I have tried many QDs, a stronger Reset wash, a strip wash etc. This has started to wear them away but they are still there. I guess the alternative is they are actual water spots.

Hi Rene! Descale is a soap while Spotless is a spray and wipe. Spotless has a thin viscosity and will run off the paint faster. It is also a bit more acidic. They have different types of acids in them and so while one product might work best for someone in Hawaii, the other might work best for someone in Pennsylvania with a different type of mineral spot on their paint surface.
Descale (being a soap) can be used as an intuitive part of the process every now and then instead of adding an additional step. Spotless is easier to use for spot treatments when you are not washing the car (generally speaking).

Thank you so much Alex! Yes, you can use it in the pump sprayer and likely you want about 1:10 dilution but you may dilute depending on the severity of your water spots.

I have a question: is CarPro Descale able to remove the spots that are caused by the fact that car was dusty, it rained for 10-15 minutes and then the came up again and evaporated the water?
Great question! Much love back from Florida USA! It depends on what minerals were in that dust... so impossible to say for sure but if you get to it before they become etched then it will almost certainly remove the spots.
As you’ve described, try a waterless wash with microfiber towel, those are less water spots and more dust rings caused by rain on dust

Nice demo! However I’d like to know if there’s any problem if the product sits in my windshield due to descale is acid base. I’m thinking to use it with a foam gun!. Thanks! 🤙🏼
No problem on windshields when used as directed. It is not an extreme acid and it does not dry out fast.
Rinse Car> Lift> Reset> Descale. Right? Or do you need follow with Reset after using Descale?
And will this require a re-seal of Reload as it may remove Reload entirely?
Car is coated with CQuartz topped with reload currently.

Thanks Allan! it depends on why you want to use these products, how you are using Lift and Descale (foam gun or bucket with either) and what your goal is. Here are the scenarios I am thinking you might be referring to:
Car coated with CQUARTZ (and reload) in all scenarios:
Regular maintenance wash - All you need is CARPRO Reset. No reason to use the other two.
Have water spots that do not come off when you use Reset - Follow with Descale, rinse well without allowing soap to dry on. Dry vehicle.
Have a really muddy car or a reason to use lift - Wash with Lift, wash with Reset, check / If there are water spots then Descale.
Yes, they will deteriorate Reload depending on dilution. Lift especially.

I do the wash with the descale before a week but all the next week we have rain every day and now I have again some light water spots . ( i just have a spray wax as sealant) is safe for a paint to wash it again with descale ?( I don’t care if strip away the wax) and generally is safe for frequent use or its better to have a car pro spotless for this job? @@johntheo7551 Yes, but often you only need a regular wash. If spots do not come off with the normal reset wash then you should remove with Descale but most times all the spots come off with Reset alone if you are washing it weekly. Only if you have nasty acid rain or hard minerals would you need more than Reset I think.

Hey Corey, the 'find my dilute' stickers for the handy dilute bottles include one for descale. Is 1:10 suggested for this too? I can't find any info anywhere from carpro about this. Would you just use it to spot treat water spots by spraying on and leaving for a few minutes before washing off with reset? How would this compare to spot treating with spotless?
Hi dthomson409, yes great question. That is correct - You could use it like that for spot treating. Although personally I still prefer it neat even for spot treating. In the way it differs from spotless it will stick and not evaporate as fast. Whether this or spotless works better will depend sometimes on what sort of minerals are causing the spot.

Hi Corey, I’ve seen some videos that show the pH of lift, once out of the foam cannon is pH neutral. What would make this any different than a regular pH neutral snow foam? Thanks.
Hi Mark! Hmmm, that does not sound accurate to me unless they are GREATLY diluting it. Regardless, the difference is that Lift loosens dirt more effectively that a regular car soap. I am no chemist but I do know that pH is not the only thing responsible for chemical reactions. It is just something than is easily measured and does give you enough info to make some assumptions about its general use.
Carpro descale is acidic, Carpro lift is an alkaline cleaner
Hello, certain areas of the ceramic coating car have transitioned from beading to sheeting (with light water spots). I would like to know whether it is recommended to use the foam cannon with a 1:10 dilution or to use a bucket with a 1:100 dilution for hand washing, and which one is better. Thank you.
1:10 dilution will be the best of these two options. You may also just apply some from the bottle directly to a wet mitt, wipe over a few panels and then wash off / rinse.
I have two questions:
1) If going the foam cannon route for light contamination, do you recommend to rinse the vehicle first, or can it be foamed onto dry paint?
2) Does descale need to be neutralized afterwards? For example would it be ok if I washed the vehicle with reset and if I still noticed spotting, can I then foam the car with descale then rinse and dry and call it a day? Or would it need to be washed yet again with reset after? Thanks!

1) We recommend always rinsing first before a mitt touches the panel. If a mitt is not going to touch the panel during this stage then you could spray it on dry as long as its not hot surface.
2) In your example here you could end with Descale. You do not need to use Reset again unless you were using descale straight or barely diluted. In that case I would errr on the side of caution.
I have a 2004 Z06 torch red that has csl/exo which is still in very good shape. A few areas sheet instead of bead. The rear bumper is pretty flat. It does have some light water spots. Any tips or suggestions? I usually use iron x, clay, then a light polish is used (perfect finish) re-coat.
Great question Jay! Sorry for my slow response. A really good Descale, IronX, Reset might solve it but if it does not then two options. One is use CARPRO Essence PLUS if you do not want to re-polish and re-coat and that buys you some time. But otherwise, your plan is sound. Just be sure to use a panel wipe before coating. Also, consider a different polish than Perfect finish since it has some very durable fillers in it that don't all come off with a panel wipe.
Can it be used for wheels as well? I have some really stubborn decade old break dust baked into alloy wheels... But main purpose I want to use it for is the front hood that has a lot of water marks. I guess spotless 2.0 will be the better choice for me? (no ceramic coating on my car, only some turtle wax graphene wax). Thanks so much for your videos!
Thanks for the questions and comments! for burnt on brake dust, go with the Iron X from CARPRO. On your water spots, either/or will work as long as the spots are not etched in. I like that the descale you can wipe on and let sit without evaporation in spots like that so it might be a great option for you.
@@SkyCarCare I've tried trix on the wheels but still 10% of stains stuck around the nooks. Heard there's a Iron X paste I might give that a try... Thanks. As for the water spots I'm not sure if they're etched in or not. It's only visible in certain light so maybe it's not so bad? Will get the one that's cheaper and available I guess! I just ordered the lift, descale, and elixir from you guys. I have a 2 yr old cquartz UK ceramic coating on my vehicle and I've noticed a degradation in hydrophobic quality and lack of beading. Initially I could dry the vehicle using a blower in a couple of minutes but now the water does not slide off that easily. I washed the vehicle with Reset and applied 3D BDX Iron remover which was very effective. Now I'm waiting for the descale. a few questions:
1) Is descale an adequate shampoo by itself? Or do I need to prewash with Reset first on my next weekly wash? Or may be follow up the descale with Reset? That order is not super clear to me.
2) I also have the hydrofoam (about 100ml in samples) that I've never used. where does that fit into the washing order? Is that something I would apply after the descale?
3) Do I need to apply Elixir as a sealant after the hydrofoam wash or will that be enough to seal and restore the ceramic coat?

1) Yes, Descale is adequate by itself in many situations but I do like the idea of a quick Reset wash afterwards to neutralize the acidity of descale.
2) Hydrofoam is more of a sealant than anything but it does have soap in it also. I will throw a curveball at you and say you could do do the following. Step 1: Wash with Descale and rinse off well. Step 2: Follow with Hydrofoam and rinse very well as you go. Dry vehicle. Skip the Elixir on this day...
3) Great question... Elixir and Hydrofoam are redundant. IF you use the Hydrofoam then you do not need to use the Elixir but if you wanted to touch up a couple areas you could. If you do NOT use Hydrofoam then you could use Elixir to top and protect it instead.

Neither will be the best option in a bucket due to the intrinsic nature of a bucket causing heavy dilution of the product. You are best off with Reset in a bucket but if you want to use Descale you certainly can... It is just that it is going to be HIGHLY diluted (still fine for washing) but not much for mineral removal. You could also consider to simply quirt a little descale directly from bottle onto your wet mitt as you wash and then a bit more after you rinse the mitt out every few panels.

We recommend to use it within 3 ~ 5 years of manufacture.
Does this works on plastic parts such as Tesla wheel cap?
Yes it will.
Could you guys do a video on Spotless 2.0? I used it to remove waterspots on my Cquartz 3.0 coated car and it seemed to leave behind some blotches. Did I just ruin my coating?
Funny you should ask! We actually just made one but it is in editing. With regards to ruining your coating - it should not unless it is used in the sun or rubbed into the surface excessively or left on without neutralizing. Try wiping down with Elixir or Ech2o those areas and the blotches should come off. Shoot us an email if we may assist further!

Does Reset remove wax?
It depends on the wax and how many times you wash it. Every soap will slowly remove wax from a vehicle. If you were to have a true wax (not any sealant in it) then Reset would take about 10 washes to strip it off. Wax tends to where off in ten weeks or less anyway. But again, any wash will slowly degrade wax. That is why waxes need to be re-applied and topped regularly. Reset will degrade a wax slightly faster than some of the less functional soaps out there that do not clean as well. The soap we see that degrades wax the least while still working well is OBSSSSD Auto Wash Shampoo www.carpro-us.com/wash/obssssd-auto-wash-shampoo-16-oz/. For sealants and ceramic coatings we always recommend CARPRO Reset or Ultima for the regular weekly or bi-weekly washes.
Can it be used to remove wax and sealants? If yes how to do it?
It will remove waxes and will slightly remove sealants if they are not a strong nano sealant. BUT CARPRO LIFT is a better option if removing waxes and sealants are your goal.
I’m going to use this as my decon wash from winter. Will this pull out the salt and mineral deposits out of the paint from snow ? How many ounces of this soap for a 5 gal bucket. It’s lame they just say 1:100. Come on give us oz/gal
Hi David, thanks for the quesiton! If you put it in a bucket then would be about 5 ounces but it will be far more effective if you apply a bit directly from bottle to your already wet mitt and then rub it on the areas, then rinse off and apply a but more for the next panel or so., etc

Yes you can, anything that does not add protection will over time delete protection so we only use strong cleaners when necessary but if used when necessary then it will keep your ceramic in better condition longer by not allowing the water spots to etch deeper. The point is - yes it is made to use when needed but if not needed then just use Reset.

For every liter of water in the bucket it would be 10ml. So if you had 15 liters of water it would be 150ml Descale.

Can you have this diluted in a spray bottle as a "spot remover"?
Better off to use CARPRO Spotless if you want to spray it on. If you want to spot treat with this one, just apply some to the local area with a towel or applicator.
I found it's actually great in a spray bottle. After using gyeon foam and rinsing it off, I simply sprayed some descale diluted.1:10 in a bottle on the cars problem areas and then sprayed it on a wet clean mitt as well. Agitated it very gentle, let it sit for about 5 mins and then rinsed off. It cleared up the spots and was way more economical.

After washing with Descale and rinsing it off, does Carpro recommend washing with Reset to neutralize the acid from Descale or so long as you rinse it thoroughly, you should be fine to go on to polishing, no acid neutralization needed?
Thats a really great question! It depends on what you are doing - prep vs maintenance. If it is maintenance then I would recommend following with Reset as you suggested to be extra safe. CARPRO does not provide any recommendation on following with Reset so it doesn't seem to be necessity but I would do a fast foam and rinse or wipe and rinse with reset to be extra safe.

I am in the market for a Ford Ranger and want to use Carpro coatings and related products on it, so I am researching the crap out of Carpro products and processes. Up until now, I have been stubbornly resisting leaving behind my trusty sealant, but I can no longer deny the advantages of coatings and will make the switch for the new truck.
@SkyCarCare To follow up on whether or not Descale needs a follow up Reset foam or full bucket wash, what about Iron X Snow? After rinsing Iron X Snow, should a follow up foam or wash or Reset be done to neutralize Iron X Snow?
@@bluegrasskid4835 Also a great question! No, in this case - as long as you rinse it off completely then no need to wash again. One thing I will do if I am not sure if some of the Iron X or IX snow soap has started to dry on the surface is I will use my mitt to lightly brush it WHILE I am rinsing in some spots.
@SkyCarCare If IX Snow does not need to be neutralized, maybe I will use IX Snow in a foam format to both neutralize Descale and get some Iron Decon at the same time and save a step to be more efficient.
Would this Descale strip of a topcoat of Reload?
That depends on how long you leave it on and how old the Reload is. It will certainly not help the Reload so that means it will remove some of it in any case. it would not completely remove it though.
