    I was just day-dreaming a way to interface APRS to the Meshtastic network - and vice versa in a disaster situation... this could be useful! Nice work Sarah!

      Thank you, it's a fairly basic application and ended up being a short video but I thought perhaps someone would find it useful

    Packet radio and aprs are a lot of fun. I still love xastir on linux for aprs and direwolf for packet connections. On windows I used to use mixw/agwpe/winaprs .. both AGWPE and Direwolf are also quite useful for programmatic control, be it from python or anything else. I always found it quite interesting that the Linux kernel itself has a packet radio and ax25 stack built-in! :)

      Hopefully I'll get some stuff together and do a linux video on soundmodem. The AX25 stack under linux is amazing and even allows for TCP/IP connections!

    You are an amazing intellect, and quite the teacher.

    Looks cool, will have to give it a look.
    Just last night I stumbled on an old project I had started: An AGWPE client in Python. I wanted to send larger amounts of data without all the AX25 stuff. I think I lost interest when I realized I'd have to handle split AGWPE frames and needed to buffer and re-assmble everything... Went in the too hard bin :-)

      AGWPE was difficult for me, which is why I went with KISS TCP. Thankfully soundmodem supports both :)

    I do like the idea but presently I will use this video to think of a way to take advantage of your code. Thank you

    Could it send and recieve Marine VHF DSC FSK? 1300 and 2100 Hz with a symbol rate of 1200 Baud..

    • @SignalsEverywhere
      @SignalsEverywhere  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes I believe you can do that in the sound modem but you'll have to form the packet yourself in Python
