Love your explanation about how it costs you the same to work on your own car bcs you lose those hours you could be working on someone else's vehicle. Ppl need reminding that our time has value not just when we are "at work". Stayed to the end.
I stayed ‘til the end. Watcher from Panama here, we do have the Prado here as well, love it, best car in the world. Keep up the great work, I watch almost all your videos, great information!
Stayed to the end. Great video to watch to get your insight. I have just inherited my Dad’s 2004 Prado (V6 petrol). Has just over 150K. I plan to keep it for awhile yet! 😎
Wow, didn't know I was going to stay till the end, but I did. Have just bought a 120 with 400k on engine. Drives beautifully. Thanks for all the great info. Will go watch all your other videos now. Would be great to do a trip with you. Thanks legend.
Stayed to the end. Having recently purchased the exact same vehicle, same colour with the roughly the same kms, different backgrounds can't wait until lockdown is over to get it over to you for exactly this type of inspection to develop the shopping list of maintenance items and priority. Great video as always.
I stayed to the end. Juat got myself a 120 prado with 130km on the clock. loving your videos so far mate, I think ill be watching quite a bit of your channel. Thanks champ
Mate really, enjoyed the video, always have good information. I just did a full suspensin kit myself on my 150, your videos were an excellent reference, saved me alot of time and heartache. Would love to see a similar video to this with the 150s, particulary the 2.8. Mine has just ticked over 220,000 which I would guess is one of the higher mileage 2.8L's out there, would be great to know what I should be looking out for with preventative engine meaintenance, injectors etc. Keep up the great content, and yep watched till the end. Cheers, Ryan
Think I just bought a 2008 prado that’s been in your shop recently

Badabing to the end. Good tips here, I'll add a couple thoughts. Helped out with the same kinda things you list up on local rigs, never dealt with injectors or turbos on the kd. I try my best to keep my own rigs clean even though I use them hard and put them to rest wet. Seems like you do he same. (Well, you make that engine bay look new, not a 4 hundred k old) The regular cleaning (and some lanolin) really keeps the maintenance hours to I'd say 1/3 versus a not cleaned and not lanolined rig. Any rig, not just cruisers and prados... Then preventative maintenance is a breeze, and one gets to look into every nook and cranny and actually discover leaks and issues before they turn into a challenge or a problem. I just turn down rigs that are not cleaned, to me it's just a whole lot more work. What are your thoughts on coatings and lanolin, I'd be interested to hear your experience on that? Not just for rust preventative, but also for ease of cleaning and keeping things soft and waterproofed I now only do lanolin on steel, aluminium, plastic and electronic connectors and components. Hands get a bit juicy when working on them but overall worth it to me.
Stayed to the end, some great info for long term reliability! What is your opinion on the rest of the cooling system? Radiator, hoses, and viscous hub? Cheers.
stayed to the end, looking at the 120 v6, would like to know what your thoughts are ongoing maintenance. Sold my luxi and looking at something else but love the prado 120.
Stayed to the end, 230k on mine, how much do you charge for set of front wheels bearing assemblies, you can get them pretty cheap on ebay, I carry a spare cheapy just in case. Would like to replace before they go though. What are the tell tails for badly worn ones?
Ant your snorkel air intake is the wrong way round , especially for off roading it will suck in the dust thrown up from the cars in front , bugs , twigs etc and quickly block up your air filter even if it is a K&N judging by the label on the airbox , and will also make more wind noise on the motorway ,
2 questions. If im lifting my 120 to 3in lift with dobinson long travel rear, do I need to change my trailing arms and panhard bar to adjust for the angels? 2. How reliable is the 8in diff? In the states everyone says to upgrade to the 8.2 diff, but I was thinking of regearing to 456 and getting a auto locker.
Hello I am traveling around Australia with my Land Cruiser 120 from Europe(Left hand drive) as I found out this is the equivalent of a Prado 120 here. My question is :My fuel tank is 82 liters from factory and I found out that here stock it comes with 2x90 litter ones.Would I be able to fit the rear 90 litter one in mine and connect it to my factory one?Looking forward for any help!!
Looks good for $80 Once you have a Bullbar and damage the design of the front of the vehicle which allows more water to get towards the intake, it is probably a good idea but if you have a standard bumper bar, then don’t add a snorkel in my opinion that’s what I have done on our 150’s
Stayed to the end. Loved the info, that’s how an engine bay should look at 400k!!

I used Mercedes & Audi AWD and never ending repairs, then I got a Prado and this is absolutely a legendary car and its done 230k at the moment!!
I stayed ‘til the end. Watcher from Panama here, we do have the Prado here as well, love it, best car in the world. Keep up the great work, I watch almost all your videos, great information!
