For anybody here that is looking at the comments before trying this out, please, don't use WD40 if you're going to be using your skateboard soon after. This is because WD40 is designed to dry out metallic parts and to remove rust and clean them, which later attracts more dust and grime, making your wheels more prone to rusting and slowing down. What do you use instead? Instead of WD40, you use a silicone based lubricant, considering that lubricant is made so that wheels and chains move fastee or are slipperier, this will make your bearings faster, thus making the speed your wheels roll faster, as opposed to WD40. TLDR; Use a silicone based lubricant, not WD40, WD40 dries shit out. Edit: Wd40 can be used to remove rust, but it'll dry them out and attract more rust, so then use Wd40 when the rust is gone.
so i went to this skateboard shop looking for a skateboard, they were all decent but the wheels don't roll freely, is it the wheels fault or do u just have to lossen it up a little bit
He did use teflon at least, the only reason for spinning the bearings by hands is to literally spin out the excessive wetness of any lube while getting the lube into the bearing, then dry the outside of the bearing housing (the outside) he sprayed too much on it, you only need one droplet. Also, there's oil based bearings and grease bearings. Oil based moves faster but expire faster and grease bearings last longer. Don't use oil based lubricants with grease bearings. I don't even think oil based bearings are used anymore except for speed skateboarders. If you got the cash go FULL OIL and just buy new bearings every 2 weeks, and "what exactly is fast"?
Its he's way of doing it and if it works well for him than so be it. Unless he skates like 24/7 than yeah the advices could help but that doesn't include insulting him. Yall don't wanna be like the fortnite community do you?
We like dry and bad bearrings as skateboarders.. hence i take mine on the passenger seat in the car for a nice place to poke around :D But thumbs up for vid.. :) We will always grind our bearrings to shit because we can..

Suprised pikachu face if the wheels do not roll freely it’s it cause the nut on the wheel is too tight. If the wheel barely spins and sounds crusty asf then it’s cause you need new bearing
1.Pop the seals on the bearings with a small flathead screwdriver or pick 2. Place bearings in kerosine or regular gasoline to clean then let them soak over night 3. The next day repack the bearings with new grease and press the seals back onto the bearings. This will lengthen the life of your bearings
Freddy Castro I meant. I got water in my bearings. Will this VIDEO fix it. Whoops misunderstanding :p But it actually did fix it. And cleaning it up took me an hour xD It was the worst haha
it makes no sense... to take off, all the whells and bearings! if you lubrecate the cabs of the bearings.. it also works with mountet wheels! XD And one of the most important steps!!! dont bend the Cabs!! it cause friction, that WD40 cant minder at all. the best bearings (to clean) ar These with Plastic Ballbearing-Rings. because you can disasemble the whole bearing and clean it way mor properly.
You should actually take apart the the bearings and dip them in cleaning solvent. Then use a proper lubricant like Bones Speed Cream. Did this when I was your age back in the 90s. Check out this video for the best way to clean em. ruclips.net/video/9TTqG5U8bcI/видео.html

What would you recommend instead? Like a brand maybe?
@@RMason-gl7ws Unsure about the brand.
I heard Bones makes speed cream for your wheels.
I use any lubricant, must be silicone based.
@@grimtheassassin what about oil
@@Recon-rz6hf Haven't tried it.
Your not suppose to use d-40 it will eventually build up gunk on your bearings
Then what do you use
Morgan Drotar oil
Synthetic lube (lol). WD 40 is a bad shout indeed
Trent Rensburg still the same will happen it’s got to do with the stuff inside wd40 in general

You should clean bearing by putting it into rubbing alcohol and then use some skateboard lubricant(wd-40 damage your bearings)like bones speed cream
Shouldn't you clean the bearing, before putting new lubricant in?

@thelegend27 2.0 He isn't an idiot. He is a young and doesn't know better.
@@ilker6467 i have the same problem, my skate board is still new so i dont think its because of the dust or anything
Loosen the nuts a bit if they don't keep rolling, like 1/4 at a time
Or you could just loosen the bolt a bit
Right
For my friend the wheels fell out
I tried that
Evangelina's Drawings and gameplays did it work?
@@CookiesDelRey did it work? Or was the wheels unstable and fall off?
Thank you this really helped! I used olive oil instead of WD-40 because I ran out of WD-40 and it still worked.

+sedwarg Agreed! I can't believe how many videos suggest you do this! It makes the bearings worse and will just cost you more in the long run.
Agree i respons the same stupid people

So what should I use instead or should I use no grease at all ?

You tighten the wheels to tight

Wich bearings do you have
How often should I clean my bearings?
Whenever it gets dirty or doesn’t work good
Awesome bro thank you so much
then one month or a few weeks later your bearings get rusted so u have to buy new bearings so dont do this look on how to properly clean them
1.Pop the seals on the bearings with a small flathead screwdriver or pick 2. Place bearings in kerosine or regular gasoline to clean then let them soak over night 3. Actually, bearing shields shouldn't be removed to re oil them
Gonna clean my shit and start skating again thanks bro 🤘🏼
Just use lubricant for skateboards
Mmmm lube
Would this work on a cruiser board?
