I am a fan of Tadao, and an architect as well. For the Row House, the main reason for the reward is that the house combines performance art into architecture: by walking from one room to another with umbrella in a raining day, one can experience nature by engaging it into his or her daily activities, despite the inconvenience. This may not be functionally good for a house, it showcases a brand new possibilities for future architecture. Another interesting feature about the church of water is its circulation. Very few people know how winding the route is from entry to the main chapel hall. By purposely massively extending the route, Tadao creates a rich experience while walking-a spatial version of a symphony.
Although the first thing comes in the mind after watching reinforced concrete structures is brutalist architecture but after studying Tadao Ando's beautiful work using concrete! feels that he brings soul and a life to the building! This is a good informative video and I like the way you use the different music for different kinds of Project and somewhere that music can relate the style or language of the building amazing editing keep going, I like your channel ❤ all the best👌
I love concrete too but how can somebody say he loves nature and build everything out of concrete? Altough it creats 1/8th of the co2 on the world per year? Difficult
talking about Tadao Andos work in school was a major reason why I'm studying architecture, his works are just as awe-inspiring now as they were back then :)
Very nice video indeed. It would've help us if you could add what principles drove the architect whem he keeps the materials raw or from where he has this sensibility to nature? Is it because of his own history or is it the essence of Japanese culture. Thanks though and keep the good work
