I bought an older 2013 MacBook Air and originally I found a video that said I needed to partition my my HDD to install the new update and I did and that made it to where I only had 15 Gb free for my entire usable HDD! I was sick of dealing with that and I decided to un do the partitioning accidental erased my entire HDD (worst nightmare realized technology wise) soon as I got it back up through maverick OS I didn’t know what to do watched a few unhelpful videos until I found yours and I have it installing right now you are amazing thank you for your video!! 😊

Okay so this video totally helped me so far, I’m currently just in the downloading process so we will se however i wanted to help anyone if they are having the same issue as i am... so i couldn’t get past the installment part after you agree to the terms and so what i did was i did a safe reboot ( restart mac, once it’s black hold down the shift key, then enter in your user password... it’ll say safe mode somewhere up top) then restart the download application and there you go!

As a longtime Windows User I find Mac to be incredibly frustrating and convoluted to deal with, especially when it comes to Apple ID logins when it constantly refuses my login despite password being correct, Although researching it I've come to find is due to this laptop having had a different Apple ID user, As this is a laptop I got from my work to use for my work... However Im determined to get it working and this video is just one step of the way. EDIT: The laptop I got defaulted back to a very old version of MacOS (dont remember which one but think OS version that would be used around 2014). This OS does not support 2 step verification and basically made the laptop unusable. Got another laptop from my job to use instead :)

Hey bud, go ahead and donwload the pkg file online for big sur, you can find this online from mrmacintoshblog he has the files on his website you should be able to intallt he file and then run the setup, once you have ran the setup you can find the macos big sur installer in your applications folder.

I have the same probelm. I am using a laptop that used to belong to someone else, and when I go to type in my AppleID and Password, it is defaultly set to the AppleID of the previous user. I am not able to change it, only the password, meaning that whether or not I change my password and reset it 10000x, it will not affect the password to the AppleID that my laptop is in. I have no clue how to resolve this issue.
@@somanemenyi7452 i actually solved this, if you are logging into your apple id and second verification shows up on your phone, you need to type in the code into the password (so your password then the verification code, all together)

First of all, when I open file after downloading, it never takes time to precess as it happens with any other zip file, it arrives straight to zipfiles(visaually looks blank:D, sorry that's the best I can explain so far hahaah), and when I drop it to applications, after a while it shows"VS code can not be opened because of a problem"... in a problem report it shows: Termination Reason: DYLD, [0x1] Library missing

I had the same issue. Try updating to an earlier version first. I updated to Sierra from Apple’s website, then it let me use the link to install Catalina

VS code should work with macOS Big Sur 11.0 or higher. what issue are you having when downloading?
