@Steve Keebler Only the Omega persona was borrowed from Ziggy. The name Omega and the Mechanical Animals was meant as a deliberate homage to the stage persona of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars, given that Bowie's record and band adopted an alter-ego to further the alien nature of the performance, and similarly, Manson and band were the alien 'Omega', and his Mechanical Animals (multifaceted reference). The Omega and Ziggy logos both have stars included as part of their design, the stars fall over the top layer of Ziggy's logo as the two stars are used as points on the I's of Mechanical Animals. The Omega logo is close in design to a good number of "futuristic" Seventies typographies that subsequently looked very 'of-their-time' in retrospect. This I also feel to be deliberate. Everything else, including songs were inspired from Diamond Dogs. Speaking of Ziggy, listen to his recent album 'We Are Chaos', that has extreme ziggy vibes.
In 1997, the year this video came out, David told a reporter, "I'm not a nostalgic person." This video tells a different tale, though. First he has 3 "Ziggy-ettes" running around throughout. The Ziggy forehead disc is prevalent at 0:15 and especially at 1:05. The Alexander McQueen jacket from "Earthling" pops up throughout, at 0:06 and 0:56, etc. (I know this song is from "Earthling," but still...) At 1:37, Bowie wears an eyepatch. "Rebel Rebel," anyone? Then he wears the contact lenses that represented Thomas Jerome Newton's "real" eyes in "The Man Who Fell To Earth" starting at 1:48. A better shot of the eyes is at 2:35. Finally (lol), there are vampire teeth at 1:56 and 2:07. Perhaps a nod to the movie "The Hunger" starring our favorite Starman? But I may be imagining things, 'cause Bowie wasn't a nostalgic person. Ha! He's so sly, I love it!
I think it's different when it comes to your own work/creations, especially when so many others are heavily invested in your older work, I'll bet it feels restrictive to someone so eager to constantly push boundaries (and do it almost flawlessly each time) these scenes could equally reflect everyone else's perception of who David is... was, RIP.

One of only two albums produced by Bowie, the other being “Diamond Dogs” - some of his hardest music on this album, bordering on metal! Some really good songwriting and playing (Gail Ann Dorsey was his best bassist - so creative), and for some reason “Earthling” has a terrible reputation as a mid life crisis drum and bass album, when its actually rock songs with a jungle flavour. A lot of hardcore fans love this album, it really is uber Bowie.

It's amazing that people will go on about Bowie's boldness and this and that as why he's their hero but then at the tribute concerts, it's always the same 20 songs you expect. Cover fucking 'Earthling' songs!
I remember watching this video on MTV when I was a teenager. I didn’t recognize the visual callbacks to Ziggy Stardust then but holy hell I do now!
Agree ... I've had a wonderful time playing Station to Station as a YT one man band ... it was such fun.
David Bowie faz muita falta, grande artista, para mim o numero um, e sempre será!!!
Luv 90's Bowie!

90s Bowie is my favorite
I hope they upload Hearts Filthy Lesson too
The best tune no one knows about
Nobody knows about anything actually.
This is one of my all-time favorites that really rocks so hard.
Criminally underrated

Manson trent reznor y no sé quién más siempre tuvieron como referente musical a David Bowie ❤
UP TO THE VERY END OF HIS LIFE, DAVID BOWIE HAD BEEN CREATING AND PERFORMING TRULY MARVELLOUSLY ORIGINAL.SONGS----- HE HAS LEFT BEHIND ALL THOSE MASTERPIECES AS A MUSICAL LEGACY THAT WILL BE APPRECIATED THROUGHOUT.THE AGES!
Suoerbe & Totally agree ... I've had a wonderful time playing Station to Station as a YT one man band ... it was such fun.
I absolutely love this album ❤
For those of you comparing this video to that of a Marilyn Manson music video: that is because it’s directed by Floria Sigismondi, who also directed the music videos for MM’s ‘Tourniquet’ and ‘The Beautiful People’
Totally Agree ... I've had a wonderful time playing Station to Station as a YT one man band ... it was such fun.
I never knew Dave made music like this, this hits hard :)

With the hands of Trent reznor from Nine inch nails who produced this album
All thanks to Trent Reznor
@@agustinnavarra4407Reznor didn’t produce the album, Bowie did himself. Reznor just remixed the song “I’m Afraid of Americans” and was in the music video.
Geez. Why so handsome and talented. I love him
I only found this song recently and my god, its a hidden gem! I love the use of the train in the song and the chaotic feeling this video gives it! Also that hair style is so incredibly 90s, its unreal!
Te amo David, aonde quer que você esteja! 😓❤
Totally agree ... I've had a wonderful time playing Station to Station as a YT one man band ... it was such fun.
it's sad because he's in the sky 😭😭😭 David had a good life

I lived in Hollywood around the time this album came out! I would blast this song over and over again when I would drive around town! Great memories and fantastic song!
Best song ever produced.

It's so cool how every generation has their Bowie they discovered and grew up with. My dad's was the Ziggy Stardust era Bowie. My Bowie was the Outside/Earthling era Bowie.
I woke up 1 hour ago singing this song, I open RUclips and the first video I see is the Little Wonder music video on the official bowie page posted exactly an hour ago. I'm connected with the spirit of david! love you, my love ❤❤
Totally Agree ... I've had a wonderful time playing Station to Station as a YT one man band ... it was such fun.
i'm in tears
I can’t stop watching this, it’s such a masterpiece in so many ways and very genius of him.
Totally Agree ... I've had a wonderful time playing Station to Station as a YT one man band ... it was such fun.
Rare artists from Bowies generation would experiment with modern genres like drum and bass , Bowie was hip with the youth even into his dying years ....RIP David
His presence is missed.
An amazing song
I have this on CD single & it doesn't have lyrics, lol😅 So, I'm just gonna say, in my "George/kid who called into A&E Live By Request" voice: Thank You David Bowie. 😊💗
It's such a great memory for George ! I guess that he is still shocked... But what a great moment it was. David was so nice, so beautiful ❤❤❤❤
david bowie was awesome in his prime.
Let the children boogie
