Nice video, thanks for taking the time. I know you don't like to perpetuate the the bugs and issues of people hearing second hand...how about first hand. I had my RMC-1L delivered Monday two hours later I was on the phone and a replacement was being shipped out. Brand new out of box with a err. code. How does a hand build/tested unit get sent out and it's doa? I love the Emo sound, I've had most of their products and I'm giving them one more shot. I really want it to work...but for $4000-$5000 I have certain expectations. You know....like just work...
Man, that's a huge bummer you got a DOA unit. But kudos to Emotiva for expediting a replacement. It's great you're giving them another chance, and fingers crossed you get a glitch free unit. It seems like if you do get one of those, then it's an awesome sounding pre-pro, even without any future upgrades or room correction.
regardless the price unfortunately accidents like that do happen. they have no control about the way the couriers handle or mishandle the product. and as its electronic and digital parts anything can go wrong. i have had a terrible experience with hand build power amps that cost a fortune and one arrived dead as a door nail and it had been tested before it had been packaged. also had a dead OPPO bluray and lots of other stuff through the years... and the more stuff you buy online the more its going to happen that you're going to get DOA and faulty stuff. thats why i try to buy most of my stuff from the brick and mortar stores and save myself a lot of troubles.
@@hmichael228 I get that, I've been in the audio business in one way or another for 25 years, this was a little different. Box was mint, unit powered up fine, I connected all cables, started setup...no audio, shut down the unit and restarted...and Err. code. I know it could totally be a one off issue but I also know Emo's history.
Just to give an update. Unit # arrived, fired connected it slower, power only, let it settle in, then one component at a time. A few glitches but so far I've been able to get everything up and running. Knock on wood! Unit sound pretty amazing. Much more information coming from rear/side/atmos channels or is it that it's just cleaner than the Marantz 8802a?
@@eafc2112 it's probably both. That's also the first thing I noticed stepping up from a marantz 7705. More detailed and more convincing atmos effect. Very impressive that the emotiva is doing that without room correction. What glitches are you experiencing?
Thanks for the review, a few important things, this unit still has bugs even after months of release, no back-lit remote, room correction doesn't work yet(don't know when it will!), the menu isn't that user friendly or attractive to use and updating the firmware is so like 2004 because you need a usb flash drive to do it manually.
my projector needs a usb to update it. Thats the 2019 model.
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude True! i do too so does nearly everyone, but we are talking about processors here. also i owned several projectors that needed zero firmware updates.
is there anything you can do via the web? Airplay, Bluetooth, streaming services, USB updates? I mean, it's a computer built in 2018 or so, that isn't too much to ask for, right? :) And when will DIRAC be available?
josh, what is your agenda? I have seen multiple comments of yours saying roughly the same thing. Has this product hurt you in any way? You seem to want to impress certain information on all of these posts ....
wha? my epson 5040 needed to be updated. there was a brightness control on the hdr that wasnt included from the factory. Fact of the matter is, is nothings perfect. Things need updates as time goes on.
Great video keep up the good work and enjoy your new system
Thanks for posting. Very thorough and helpful in making an informed decision on this processor.
Love that it is not built in China. I did see on the web site that just the Amps are built in the US.
Please review Monolith htp-1 16ch processor with 3 mini dsp kits.
The bugs though! Those little critters cant get rid of. Waiting on the competition before picking any of these up just yet..
the monoprice looks promising. I think maybe i can test one out soon. We will see.
The fact that you brought up manufacturers come out with a new model every year and you imply that you need to throw the model out because you might want to get that new model the next year is absolutely silly and nonsense. I have an Onkyo receiver from 2014 and it is fantastic still in 2019. I will agree it's pretty cool at emotiva lets you upgrade or expand but rarely rarely in fact more less never do you have to buy the next year model because it has something so much different than the previous year model. I had to chuckle when you said throw it out.
But he is right though so many people upgrade there gear year after year just to get the newest and greatest thing out at the time
onkyo has new model every year
Sorry, however I disagree with you and totally know where THTD is coming from... for I have been majorly screwed not once, but twice. So without getting into much detail, first I'm glad to hear that you have not suffered the fate that I (and I'm sure many others) have, however it is done very purposely by many manufactures, and some of them so much so that I have completely forgo'd doing business with those in particular. So way to go THTD for bringing it up and also for tipping his hat to Emotiva (and other manufacturers) who have decided in this ever changing Technological World that we Live in, to 'take care of their customers'.
Thats right John. The disrupting approach of a company helps change the paradigm of what people think electronics are. I upgrade my iphone every year and its completely unnecessary. Interchangeable parts was the best part of the industrial revolution. We need to change out perception of what it is to buy and own something. Make more things modular so we dont throw out silicon every year
I get you. Alot of use like to have the latest and greatest and the "throw out" comment was tongue in cheek. Usually people dont trash them but sell their tech second hand. But the upgrade bug is a real sickness :)
Okay... I don't mean to be the negative nanny here... BUT As of this video,...
1) There is absolutely NO WAY, ZERO, to upgrade the unit to more than 16 channels, at this time, correct?
2) There is no way to have Bluetooth, Airplay, Cast, wifi configuration, internet radio, or other wireless or wired connectivity options, at this time, correct?
3) There is absolutely no difference between this unit for 5k, and the XMC-2 for 3k, except for the additional "expansion" ports and fully balanced connections on ALL 16 channels instead of just the front 3, correct? (They're charging 2k for a slightly bigger box and fully balanced)
4) Emotiva has a history of promising upgrades, but never actually delivering the upgrades. See XMC-1 upgrades, correct? (Specifically, their HDMI 2.0 upgrade that was introduced in 2014 but wasn't released from Emotiva until 2018 for their customers, and then, was super buggy. YEARS after everyone else! And they promised Atmos support that was "coming soon" but never came out!)
5) All fully balanced, differential balanced audio outputs, coming from a digital source, is a gimmick, unless this unit in particular will produce noise / distortion within the unit, correct?
6) For 20 months that this product has been released to the public, DIRAC has been promised to be "coming soon"... Yet, it's still unavailable, correct?
7) There is absolutely no voice control options for Alexa, Google, or others, correct? For that matter, there is no future IMAX support for this too, correct?
8) The menu does run slowly, and that will never be sped up, correct?
9) It has an AES input (for a CD player to then use this as your dac) and balanced inputs (again to use for your dac), but no phono stage... that EVERYONE else has at this price point, correct? So using this as a pre-amp is out of the question is you use vinyl.
Summing my points up, you're paying 2k more than their base unit, for fully balanced connections, (which shouldn't be needed if it's a properly engineered unit) and the ability to upgrade in the future. But after being out for nearly two years, there is not one, single, upgrade, available. Not one! I don't have experience with this unit in particular, but those, are, the, FACTS. Having said that, I believe you that the sound quality is awesome and better than anyone else in this space. But based on a number of sources, it is slow, it is buggy, there is no way to stream to it directly, it's absurd that it takes a minute to boot, and it costs more than most of their competitors. (My $1,300 computer boots in 7 seconds... this takes a minute and costs 3.5x more?!?!)
Summing up your points in this review.... You state that "Direc Live is still not available, this is October, they keep saying it will be coming available,.... " Yet, Monoprice will have it at launch, NAD has it already, Anthem has it already, Arcam has it already. Yet, after almost two years of being promised, Emotiva still doesn't have it. You state that the only units available that can do 20 to 28 channels cost more than 10k... And you're right! But this unit, at this time, can't do more than 16 channels, correct? There is no front HDMI port, so your suggestion, literally, is to get extra cables and just let them dangle from the front when you need them! There is no balanced headphone jack on the front. You state "I only have problems with the unit when I'm watching TV and a commercial comes on." And you go on to state the reason why... But WHY CAN'T YOU WATCH TV after spending 5k and get sound when a commercial comes on!?!?! I hope to GOD, when it switches codecs, you don't have to reboot the unit and wait for a minute to power it back on. You state that functionality isn't as good as pioneer, Denon, or Martanz, but the sound performance is awesome, when it works, right? (Sorry, but if I have friends over and can't get sound on commercials to play, or have horrible menu functionality, and after waiting for a minute for the unit to power up, and tell said friends that I spent only 5k, but the sound is SO much better, they'd string me up.... ) "But having amazing sound vs. having flawless menu's...." WHAT?!? When I spend 5k for something, it should work, and it should work better, and faster, than my $200 apple TV!
And then, my favorite is the cost justification vs. value aspect of this where you want to belittle people that think spending 5k on a pre/pro is too much. It isn't that 5k is too much, it's that 5k for THIS UNIT, is way too much! But you're right in that to get great sound, you have to spend some money. My two channel amp, just my AMP, cost me $4,500 before tax. And that's before I get into my 82 inch tv, or my Sony projector, or the three other amps I have, or the Marantz pre-pro, the drop down projector screen, SVS subs, the custom room I built, and the speakers... All, of the damn, speakers! 5k is a drop is a drop in the bucket compared to what I have... And you're right, 5k isn't that much for GREAT sound! But you should also have a great experience for that! You state that you have experience with Trinov which you can actually get for 14k or so... But if you have experience with that, then you KNOW it works FLAWLESSLY. In fact, units from NAD, Anthem, Yamaha, Marantz, Denon, Pioneer, Integra, and Arcam, ALL, ALL OF THEM, work flawlessly! This is the only one that doesn't, and yet, it costs more than almost all of them.
To continue your summary, ARC doesn't work all the time. But, if you only use the same HDMI you're fine. It gets hot... You're wrong, it isn't processing teraflops of data because there are no video processing tools in it (like Marantz, Denon, Integra have... ) Yet, it gets just as hot and you should buy loud fans to cool it to ensure that your new 5k purchase doesn't go bad! And then the bugs... Does the screen not display "please wait" almost all the time when switching things? You say the unit is a great performer, but doesn't it take a minute or more too JUST BOOT UP?
Closing this out.... I get the sound it awesome. But that is the ONLY attribute it has over competitors, at least at this time. And I agree, it's also the most important attribute. But I can't stream a song to it via airplay. I can't go through the menu without a "please wait" signal coming up. It takes a minute to power on. And while the expansion possibilities are awesome, this has been out almost two years now, and there isn't a SINGLE upgrade option available, STILL. Oh, and the remote is built like a tank unless a screw pops out.
I want to love this thing... I have listened to the reviews and I know the sound is awesome. But Monoprice will have the same number of channels, plus airplay, plus DIRAC, with the EXACT SAME SPECS and parts, for 1k less, in the coming weeks. In fact, given the "shark" processors, and the DAC's used, I wouldn't be surprised to see outlaw audio come out with this exact unit for 2k. Sound United, Pioneer, Yamaha et 'al, is certainly aware of the desire to go with 9.2.6 and will most likely have that in early 2020 in their pre-pro going for around $2,500 to $4,500. NAD, Anthem, and Arcam will follow suit soon thereafter for around 4 to 6k. The sound still might not match Emotiva.... But I can at least have a friend over and let them steam some song via Airplay to my new 2 to 6k pre-pro. And control it natively with voice. Or stream crappy music from Spotify or great music from Tidal. Or better yet, HAVE A FREAKING APP to control it!
It's just time for reviewers to say Emotiva, this isn't ready. Get the bugs out, make the bootup fast (which they could have EASILY done spending 20 bucks more on faster flash memory) release upgrade options immediately, get Imax certified, get DIRAC, include HDMI and Balanced inputs on the front, reduce time for codec changes, Include Airplay and Bluetooth, get a backlit remote, get a freaking app to control the damn thing, and integrate Alexa... And then we can talk... OH.... And make an upgrade available to everyone that bought this crappy thing for $150 bucks to turn it back in and get something that justifies 5k for it! If the sound is that good, I'd spend 10k for it! But if Emotiva wants to stay in the value segment, this shouldn't cost more than 2k in it's current form, and no more than 3k in what I suggest. With upgrade options, it should top out at 6 to 8k. Just my thoughts....
S Gals, I don’t think that’s fair. I’m not sure if he is getting a deal or not, but I trust that he really does like the sound and would recommend it to people regardless of any deal he might have. I just respectfully disagree with him for the points I listed above. (Which weren’t intended to be directed towards him in particular.... but more towards Emotiva for them charging more than many competitors, and delivering something that in my opinion, isn’t ready yet fit and finish wise. Also, the number of items that are “coming soon” but never seem to materialize, really bother me given Emotiva’s history.)
@@sgals3395 I understand where you're coming from, and I don't think that reviewers should recommend this product until they have addressed the issues I listed out earlier. But, that is just my opinion. Just as his recommendation to buy this product is his opinion, which, I value a great deal. I just happen to disagree with him on this one. But I think it's unfair to question his integrity just because we have a disagreement over this particular product, especially not knowing if there even is any kind of conflict there. That's all.
PS... your comment about emotiva renaming themselves to "coming soon" is SPOT on! :)
I think...by the time emotiva enable you to MAX! this unit out...theyl be an all in one, straight out of the box AVR solution. That’s my issue. Don’t quote me now, but it could take 3 years for you to get all the expansion modules in that, AND!! Emotiva WILL be in control over when they release them, which will be governed by some fair trade authority, which means mean while, in that time, some manufacturer, CAN release....an all in one, AVR with even more channels...it’s great. I get it. But some of us if not most, have the bug. And will not wait for the upgrades. They/me want it now. Plus. Calibration is still on the back burner for dirac. I’m telling you, they waiting until the unit is maxed with channels.
Agreed I was thinking the same thing.
the fact that Emotiva provide a modular and upgradable product puts them in a different league and add the quality of Emotiva its a killer product.
H Michael yes I’m sure,🤭you can only upgrade it so far. And it’ll take forever to do that.
you mad bro?
@@hmichael228 the modular aspect of it does not impress me whatsoever. I have a receiver from 2014 made by Onkyo and it is plenty good for what I use it for. 7. 2. This almost reminds me of the PS audio directstream DAC that is like five or six thousand dollars that they say the software improves the sound. LOL
excellent review. Best I found for emotiva. Thank you.
Chris, please lobby your friends at Emotiva to add Auro 3D. The soon-to-be released Monoprice HTP-1 will have it as well as Atmos and DTS-X. I too like to support made in USA products, also because of military service, parents' military service, grandparents' military service. So I would lean toward the RMC-1 but really want Auro 3D. Thanks for covering this so well.
good idea... i really like it. I think if the public shows interest they will look into adding it. it is btw .... upgradable.... hahahah i said the upgradable thing like 10 times. I get on a roll and repeat myself sometimes :)
Thanks for the warning about the heat, thats a deal breaker for me, glad I hadnt bought one before seeing this video.
at 5 K it's just astounded thing that they don't have a backlit remote. That's actually really piss poor.
Ryan Schipp tripple like man!👍🏻
Anyone who spends that kind of money for a processor like that will probably ditch the remote and use something like Crestron system and use a tablet like device to control the entire system throughout the house.
@@scottgodown569 I can afford the processor but I know I can get great sound through other means cheaper. If I purchased a $5,000 processor I would expect it to have a backlit remote.
@@ryanschipp8513 that you wouldnt use........
@@scottyo64 whether I would use it or not is irrelevant. $5,000 is a lot of money too many people especially for audio equipment and based on the ticket price it should have a backlit remote. I would bet you money that if you surveyed a hundred people 95% of them would expect it.
Thanks, for all the information I enjoyed your video :-)
Great video man, Have you done a review on the xmc-2
review? no. unboxing? yes. i'll get it out tuesday i think
:)
Awesome
Great videos man. Cool channel. As far as built in the USA I would double check. A while back I received a letter about increases because of China imports. I believe its assembled in the USA not built in the USA. FYI
indeed very few products are actually build in the USA... parts comes from China and then USA assembled....
ok, so when a car has parts made in china and assembled here in the usa, is it BUILT here or assembled? Im notg sure i follow the logic.
Looking forward to the comparison to the 2
its coming very soon
Was waiting to see a 13.5.10 demo.
i need to buy more speakers :)
Good to hear your impressions of the unit after living with it for a while. I'd be willing to overlook some issues like you since they've since been resolved, but for a product that has been out for nearly a year now you'd think that they would have all been squashed by this point. There was a forum post from an RMC-1 launch owner that seemed pretty accurate when they said that this product "escaped" Emotiva's warehouse rather than being "released". Any product will have teething issues, I guess audiophiles just complain about them at higher spl levels :P
I'm curious how they plan to implement streaming services into the expansion slot. The RMC UI is already as minimalist as you can get, how are they expecting to integrate any streaming service with a graphics-rich UI into that?
good insight
Just for an FYi…. this was released or "let into the wild" sometime around march or may of 2018.... It's at least 1.5 years old and soon to be 2....
@@joshpeters7392 Were those beta/alpha units or final production? The earliest rumblings I knew of for people receiving production units was late November 2018.
@@fooschnickens Checking things quickly, you might be correct and I may be wrong for which I apologize. I know that Audioholics wrote a piece in January of 18 saying that it would be out soon and I could have sworn that I saw some reviews dating back to the March/ May timeframe (maybe it was in the lounge they have...) But the earliest firmware release that I see was on 11/19/18. Either way, this has been out for nearly a year and there are still no promised upgrades available for this unit.
How's that 28 channel processor working out?
Oh, wait....
Is there a big difference between the Denon 6500 AVR and the RMC for music and movies
Quick question bud. I work for a speaker vendor in the industry and love the look of the unit but worries about control. I have Control4 system at home. Do you know if the unit is controllable via IP?
So did you not even have your unit Dirac PC calibrated at all? You only did the manual setup? I've performed the Dirac setup on a few Audio Control processors, and love the performance. Their units are provided with the software and the calibrated microphones
nope. dirac still isnt available. I used manual cal and it sounds great. most auto cal do speaker distances and levels you can just set those manually and get great results
I am fairly new to this, but if you have balanced channels from the RMC1, would need need amps that are also balanced for each channel for them to be fully calibrated?
fully differential amps are recommended, but not necessary
I run the Parasound amps as well but via a Denon x6500h. I know you obviously really like the RMC 1 but I’m gonna ask you do you think it be a good jump for me as well to own the RMC 1 in that I’d hear a good difference I’d be impressed with? Hope that makes sense. Cheers 👍
you'll notice a difference for sure. I had a buddy come over and we tested the change blind. Its cleaner, more distinct and more defined in dynamics
That Home Theater Dude Cheers bud appreciate it 👍
Does this have a web interface where you can make all your adjustments from your PC without having to deal with the menu system?
Not that I've seen. The only thing the ethernet port is used for is the yet-to-be functioning Dirac integration.
Now that would be nice. But it may still be slow even still
I have the XMC-1 and if you connect the Ethernet to your home network there is a App for the XMC-1 so you could control it with a smart device. No it sure if its available for the newer models though.
It'd be better to have it be entirely browser-based, then you don't have to worry about device compatibility or one brand getting dev preference over the other. This is where companies like Marantz, JBL, Storm and the upcoming Monolith HTP-1 really got remote setup/tweaking done right with a full GUI.
Does it have an app to control anything with? Wifi or ethernet firmware updates? Streaming audio of any kind? Home network interface to steam music from a music server? (the answer to all of those is no.... but, it's only 5k with GREAT SOUND! :D )
Good to see ya Dude
Wow wow 🎃
Great Video HTD I enjoyed it. Now I know what I want for Christmas! 🤟🏻😁
hell yeah brother
Great thorough review man! Thank you for providing all the pertinent information needed.
anytime good buddy
Any updates on the RMC-1? I'm looking to upgrade soon and it's at the top of my list but I keep hearing rumors about how it has issues and everyone is just waiting for a new major firmware (also, when 8k?) to basically make them worth having. I have not see any real reviews recently (everything is 2 years old roughly, like this video). A revisit review to address the rumors true or false would be appreciated!
i should do a long term update video....
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude RMC 1, how to expand to 28 channels?
Just for the record - I do love your videos! :) And I really do appreciate your insight.... And please keep up the good work! I'm just very mad at Emotiva over the promises of getting upgrades to the XMC-1 to HDMI 2 and Atmos that never came to be.
They are giving us a better deal. For the same price that the upgrade to Atmos was going to be in the XMC-1, you are able to purchase an XMC-2. You get a brand new unit with fresh warranty for $1K or $601 depending on what level your XMC-1 is at.
Big question; over a year later would you still recommend this item? I'm looking to pull the trigger on the RMC-1L, which from what I can see is basically the same machine (you just can't upgrade to 28 channels).....
I Dont have a single issue with this unit 1 year later. Everything works on it as it should. They have updated the firmware and that fixed every gripe. It has Dirac now too
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude well I have the RMC-1L on order now, might take a few weeks to arrive in the UK but very excited. Thanks for the feedback.
What is the different b/n RMC1 and RMC 1L
RMC1L isn’t expandable
Sounds like to me too much overkill. You constantly have to buy additional products to get the upgrades this unit is capable of doing. I think I missed the sound demos you spoke of, so no comment.
I didnt add them to the video.... If you wanna see some demos search for the RMC-1 and avengers endgame :) I'll get more demos out soon for the RMC-1 and the XMC-2
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude 1 or 2, which is better? any other 28 channel pre amp?
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude best cinema processor 28 channels?

XMC-2 is a better value. Who needs 28 ch upgrade path?
@@BrianGarside that is what I was thinking. Most of us will use it in a dedicated theater with 11 speakers max.

@@ThatHomeTheaterDude sweet looking forward to it.
1.5 years later, and those expansion cards still doesn't exist as far as I can tell? (Nor any other expansion cards)

yes.
If it was in my budget I would definitely go with this and new amps! I like the fact its upgradable! Great video brother!
Thanks buddy !
I agree.... great video... but is there a single... just one, upgrade, available, so far, since this was released 18 months ago? (Still no dirac…. no airplay, no pc config ability or phone app or alexa, … I wouldn't hold your breath for an upgrade, like, ever.... (See EMC-1)
1.5 there had to be a 1.0 1.2 ect
For 5 grand it better blow your socks off Lol
Does the XMC-2 sound the same as the RMC-1?
Yes it does. Especially after you run Dirac. My friend has the RMC1L and I have the Xmc2. Blows my previous Denon 4700 and Marantz 7706 out of the water.
Sorry to say but the bugs should have been fixed prior to production release especially since the unit costs 5k. The features are nice but emotiva should really fix the slow start up issue since that alone can be a dealbreaker.
makes sense. i get ya
Dude! The sound is awesome! Don't worry about the bugs! Doesn't EVERYTHING have bugs the first 18 months AFTER it's been released? And 5k.... pft… the sound is awesome! :)
(You're absolutely right! Why weren't these things fixed.... why doesn't it have FREAKING AIRPLAY or BLUETOOTH?!?! And why does it still have bugs after 18 months?!?!) I couldn't agree with you more!
@John Smith :) I was being sarcastic. It's absurd to release a product, at full price, for customers to essentially beta test for more than a year, before getting a decent working product. I do have to say, based on what I have read in their forums, they have released a new firmware I think in February that addressed many speed and bug issues. But still no upgrade options, still no dirac (even though that was promised in march), still no plan for 2.1HDMI upgrades, and for 2k less, you can now essentially get the exact same thing but without "upgrades" in their XMC-2. Maybe one day, Dirac will come, additional, promised speakers will be available, options such as an app to control/ configure, airplay, Bluetooth will come, but for now, after 18 months of this being out, not a single upgrade that has been promised has been delivered, still.
And again... I can't stress this enough. I take the Home Theater Dude at his word that this is an amazing sounding product! It is something I would LOVE to buy. But without upgrades available, without airplay, considering other manufactures are now starting to deliver the same or better at lower prices that work better, this is a tough one for me to get, as it has been, for the last 18 months since it was first introduced. (At some point here though, I am going to have to bite the bullet to go from 7.2.4 to 9.2.4 or 9.2.6)
What about Auro3D as a future upgrade???
if i remember correct, if you guys show interest then they may implement it.... ask and ye shall receive. SO go forth and demand it :)
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude Makes sense to me.... Will do!
What about a single, just one, upgrade card to control 4 subs? Or add Airplay or Bluetooth? Or an upgrade to speed up the boot time? Its been out 18 months... Nothing, except firmware upgrades to date.....
i think the expansion bays are configurable. i'll be testing some out soon
I've been told by Emotiva - Auro3D is not going to happen.
Cant wait for the xmc-2
im using it right now.... its pretty sweet. expect the unboxing vid shortly
great review man its cool that emotiva have Futur care program,, because i am really pissed to have to change my avr every years, now that hdmi 2.1 is almost there i will have to upgrade again.. :\
not to mention a new 8k player, streaming device and 8k cables... these formats are nuts
Hi can you recommend a dolby atmos home cinema that is cheap?
buy used speakers :) I have bought two complete klipsch systems used and it was a great savings
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude hi I have the kenwood 9.1b cinema kit amplifier how do i connect the hdmi cable to the computer?
usb to hdmi??
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude Hdmi
well I'm that buddy you want to ship it too
Do you get better sound out of the klipsch rp280f with the extra power? My dad has a pair and he is not fully happy with them.
What is you dad driving the speakers with. The Klipsch are very efficient and do not require a lot of power
I have the RP280F and they sound great but there’s a lot to take into consideration
He has the Onkyo TX RZ840 receiver and uses a rega planer 1 with the negaoka m110 needle. And a shitmmani preamp sorry about the spelling.
Speakertweaker 1346 That is a very nice avr and he should not have any power issues using pure direct mode, Has he run the room calibration system on the receiver, the room acoustic will play a big part to how it sounds, also speakers location and position. If he as checked all those variations. Has he use it directly connected to the AVR
No he has not done room calibration but he has connected the speakers directly to the receiver but he likes the sound better with the preamp.
He doesn’t like Pure direct as much either he prefers to have his subwoofer.
Have you auditioned Dirac yet?
That still, after 18 months of being promised to be "released soon" is still not available... but, it's coming soon! :)
@@joshpeters7392 Works great on my XMC1. Wonder if the new Dirac 2.0 is causing licensing issues.
Request Emotiva to send you the light version!! Do a review on that one.
already done old bean :)
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude how can I email you. need guidance on REW and calibrating my Marantz 8805 besides Audyessy
i dont really like messing with rew... i'll do it, but i really stay away from it unless need be. The paid audessy app is the best bet in your case. It doenst have Fine PEQ adjustments that you control. the app just does it for ya.... or at least thats the info I have.
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude Roger that, sound pretty good for the app, just have to add +DB for the sub, and add about 2 panels to ceiling for sound deadening.
As of 10/18/19... 18 people didn’t click two thumbs down... can’t even follow simple instructions. :)
lots more now ...
If I could give 2 Thumbs up I would. 1.Spending all that time with the unit and therefore being able to share so much about it with us. Thanks! 2. Although just an opinion, I to lean towards Performance over say a missing feature (which there doesn't appear to be any), or over say the early buggiest of a particular unit, or simply by it looks. 3. Money is so tight for many of us, I am so glad to hear that you will be doing an XMC-2 comparison. We all can of course compare features, however a full hands on with both we cannot. So Thank you in advance!!! Ps. I always knew you had a screw lose :O
i have the xmc-2 right now and it works great!. I'll get some content up soon for you guys
The reason you.defend this thing is because is American built. That being said this processor is real buggy and it's not worth the asking price at this time. People complaining are other RUclipsrs just like you.
I think that I heard.. it was the best sounding preamp he has ever heard in his space. Buggy or not, that is saying a lot to a person who reviews a ton of units. When you ask if something is "worth" the price, consider buying other 16 channel - 28 channel units, and see if you can get the same thing at that price. You wont be able to.
ohhh dang! Wade coming in hot with the response!.
@@tkcdac he said " my brothers sisters cousin says it's buggy, and I DNT give press to that because they DNT have fist hand experience" there are plenty of RUclipsrs saying this this is super laggy and not living up to the hype. Again only reason he defends it is because is American made and he was in military, that is it. That being said if the ever get this thing to work it should be a good piece of kit
So when you say "Again only reason he defends it is because is American made and he was in military", you are using your powers of Tito, yet when I spoke to him personally face to face, this was not the reason. Which of these do you think is more reliable? Keep justifying please, I need to discover the source of your superpowers for when I play the lottery.
And from first hand experience and hearing it in Chris's home, this works better than it should be even legal to.
@@tkcdac no superpowers needed but I will give you something better, since you are his lawyer and all. I actually bought this kit and was super excited for it. And no one call tell me it is not buggy and not worth that price untill they fix it. Now does it produce amazing sound absolutely, when it works. And you DNT need super powers to that he is a tad bit favoring this product because it American made. So to stop with this back and forth you took his word for it I bought the kit. Checkmate
nice video
That’s over kill
