    There are a lot of negative posts in the Emotiva forum about firmware issues, especially when applying the latest patch to your processor. But this guy brings up a great point in this video; Emotiva is receptive to user feedback. They're actively involved in replying to and providing updates in their forum. I don't think that's possible with the bigger mainstream competition. The cost of admission isn't cheap but you're getting a lot for your money. Plus Emotiva is an American company hailing from beautiful Williamson County, TN., supporting businesses in our own economy has long term benefits.

    Hi Chris! Man I love that rear panel shot. Love all of those inputs, love flexibility. Very convenient layout. Scary but I could fill those HDMI connections right up! Correct me if I am wrong, but this thing looks like it is built like a tank. I have an Emotiva Audio speaker system. T1+ for mains, C1+ center, E2+ surrounds, B1+ for Atmos. 5.1.2 I have got a great seven channel amplifier, but would really like to upgrade my processor. This unit may be the candidate for me. I would be like you, in that I would be using it for both movies, and music. I absolutely love my Emotiva speakers, great bang for the buck! Build quality, and performance off of the charts! Have a great one man!

    Dude, I really wish Emotiva would add Auro 3D. I’m looking at the Denon X6700H which will be 13 channels and Auro 3D AND has pre-amp mode for a few hundred $ less than the XMC2. It would be nice if you could compare the XMC2 to the Monoprice HTP1 even though the Monoprice is more expensive. I’m curious in the difference in sound quality. Also, since i really value your opinion could you please review the Iotavx AVXP1 7 channel amp? No one I can find has reviewed it. Thanks for your great channel.

    HI, I just purchased a New XMC2 in July 2022, I got this to replace my Onkyo RZ5100 Pre-pro. So far it has been a nightmare. Very slow processor, response to command, up to 15 minutes of only going back and fort, Always need to reboot it, due to not linking to the HDMI so no image. on TV. I have a main Media room, that has my music and Theater systems all McIntosh, But this as been a good and bad experience, to the point that Emotiva and I have been sending emails to each others also sent them video of the issues. This system is been use in my studio only, They stated a new firmware is coming and would fixed majority of issues, but I see you have about the same problems 2 years ago> so what progress have they done>? Does not seem to me that a lot as changed since. After 2 years they should have been able to fix all this problems, I spent hours with Brent and others at Emotiva, you are right incredible support. I told them I would wait for the new update, and if does not work I will return it, Cannot deal with this stupid slow response to play a turntable or go back to TV or etc, 15 to 20 minutes is not acceptable, this unit gets confused using their own remote, the Inputs buttons or the Logitech remote>> For the video quality and sound they are very very good for the price point. But man is painful. IF they fix this issues this unit would be incredible for sure.
    I like emo for my studio, I do use their amps. do I want to keep the XMC2 at this time, I am not sure, but because their support is so good, I will wait for the update after they extended my return date.

    Great update! Has the experience improved on the newest firmware releases? I saw in the release notes that they've done a lot of re-writing of the code. Also, how is the menu performance on the latest firmware? I really want to like this at $3k but the Monolith HTP-1 seems to have the edge on stability, features, and speed to release Dirac.

My setup is 7.1 and i never intend to add additional speakers just to get Atmos. The xmc-2 looks like an interesting option to me since Anthem are never going to offer an upgrade path or new model. @fooschnickens 4 года назад

      Too many to list, just look through the Emotiva forums and on AVS. Lots of frustrated people with some moving to other options and never looking back. The biggest issues I've seen have to do with HDMI sync being lost, the UI being very cumbersome, and general instability (which has gotten better over time with new firmware, but never should have been as bad as it was for a consumer device).
      Emotiva might be listening to feedback, but changes brought about by that feedback is sluggish at best. Hell, they just now released Dirac for the RMC-1 and XMC-2, a feature listed on both models when launched and promised "eventually" after launching. Now the RMC-1 is 2 years old and the XMC-2 is about to hit a year, that's a helluva wait for a top-billed feature.

    • @Jajuka81
      @Jajuka81 4 года назад

      @@fooschnickens Fair enough. I was just hoping to hear about them in this review. Seemed odd to omit them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'm sad to hear that Emotiva is lacking in the software/firmware department. I just upgraded away from my UMC-1 that I've been using for about 6-7 years. Needed something with 4k and a better room correction. I had a few issues with the UMC initially, but luckily got them all straightened out long before they EOL'd it. It was pretty solid for what I used it for. Though, it was definitely a lot lower tech than all of the newer units, so I could see them being more prone to software issues.

    • @fooschnickens
      @fooschnickens 4 года назад +1

      @@Jajuka81 yeah it really is a shame. Emo seem to have fallen victim to the same thing many other 'once greats' did when they tried to diversify their catalog too much. Their amps are top notch and speakers sound great, but their software based products fall well short of what I would consider a polished unit. If you're in this price range/class of product, I would give a very hard look at the htp-1 as it's been making waves since release and is one of the main units former Emo users have been jumping ship to.

      Arendal 1723s THX is the best I’ve heard for smaller home theater. Beats B&Ws and I had the SVS ULTRA center and the SVS sounds anemic compared to the Arendal monitor

    How does this compare with Anthem avm 70 or with marantz 7706?

      comes down to dacs and usability. the Emotiva is the better all around choice, but you get ease of use with the anthem

      you dont get mixed in any specific number of speakers anymore. Its a signal that your processor decodes and spits sound out to however many speakers you have

    You may benefit greatly by scripting your videos and adding a teleprompter to your recording setup

    What’s the big difference between that one and the RMC-1L?

    • @ThatHomeTheaterDude
      @ThatHomeTheaterDude  3 года назад +1

      the RMC1 has 16 differential channel with the ability to expand to 28 channels. the rmc 1L is the same s this just no expandability the XMC-2 is only differential on the front stage LCR and not expandable
