    Wow... Looking at maybe trying this down in the new house I've moved into, still a bit apprehensive about it, but have to say, very impressed with your eye for detail,, not being content with the first plaster job, and ensuring a top quality finish. Many watching the video may not even have noticed the sunken mil plaster, but a true pro not accepting anything but the best quality..
    Very impressed with the work, and top video too btw, very helpful ☺

    PVA really helps prior to plastering otherwise wall sucks the moisture out of the new plaster and you get cracks like that. I must admit I try not to use an angle grinder (tempting though it is) as it takes days to get all the dust out the room plus tight fitting mask rather than cheap paper ones a must. Hammer and bolster definately more hard work but less fine dust.

    The traditional way to wire European houses is to pull single wires into conduit. Plastering in a cable is cheaper but if you have a fault you will have to chase the wall again and learn profanities in several languages.

      Thanks for stopping by the vid mate 👍 no need for any swear words at all when doing a job like this it's simple chase out the area you need to , add cable/wire in a conduit and make good simple as that your talking about something completely different 👊

    Really helpful video, thanks for sharing! What I’m wondering is if you needed to change the cable for whatever reason, wouldn’t it be ‘stuck’ to the filler at the bottom? Obviously it’s loose going up as it’s behind the plastic casing, but I’m wondering about the bottom?

    • @creativecrambo
      @creativecrambo  Год назад +1

      Thanks for stopping by the vid mate nice one 👍 yeah that's not a problem to sort out mate the cables are free from any obstruction so you could replace if need be you just got to go for it if something happens to the existing cables or think ahead and allow for more cables to be added in the majority of cases the cables should be just fine in the wall the cables I did are covered with a conduit so they should be easy to replace or add to if need be
      Thanks for your feedback mate much appreciated Thanks 👊🫡

    • @creativecrambo
      @creativecrambo  Год назад

      Hi mate 👍 it all depends on how deep and how much you got to cut out if you're just doing a chase out like I did plus conduit then a filler will do but anything bigger then use bonding coat then a skim coat of finish plaster all depends on what you got to finish plus the depth of it I'd use bonding to fill it in then a finish plaster all depends on your budget mate thanks for your feedback appreciate it 👍👍👊

    @creativecrambo On interior walls how much of the brick and mortar wall should you chisel out or can you chisel out without effecting the structural integrity of the wall. I assume the reason it is what it is is because it's old and it's a weight bearing wall. Can you cut 1/2 way through. 3/4.Or would you need to use some type of metal tie/brace to distribute the load to both sides similar to a basement foundation window on a brick house where you slot out the sides on the top to hang the window on the brick, sorry for the non-jargon terminology and half baked question. Mostly concerned about structural integrity and point of no return and or what to be careful for when doing this. Thanks.

      The rule of thumb mate is no more than a 1/3 so the brickwork being 100mm thick then the chase would be about 33mm maximum the chase I did was about 25mm but that was from the finished plaster therefore I only chased out about 10mm into the brickwork that was plenty for the conduit and to have some cover over that with the finished plaster hope this helps mate all the best 👍 👍👊

I done this today thats why I'm on watching videos here. I cut mine with a kango just and bonded the wire straight in. I'm a bit worried that I should of put some sort of plastic strip over the wire. I knew I should off but someone told me it'd be ok and I took the lazy way out. Another 2 mins would of done it right!! I'm not gonna blow up my aunts house am I?

      @@creativecrambo have to do the other rooms too, def gonna do the same as u with the plastic! Yea you'd assume the name "one coat" would only need the "one" coat lol. From my experience of years of plastering, Iver never used one coat nor has any builder supplied it to be used. I'd be very skeptical of one coat ever doing something like this. Filling my patch now and any patch/track I've ever done ya need to fill it and let it sit for a wee while. Go back and give another wee lick over it because it always sucks back in. If need be one more final one. Dont need to wait for it to go rock hard or anything. That sanding stuff is the best of the lot I think. Even if it does suck in (working in your own house) it's no problem at all. Just fill the next day then sand the next day. Typically the longest, cleanest and easiest way. No one on earth completes a job in their own house in a day that they could do in someone else's haha. As I tell my girl, she doesn't need to remind me to do something every 6 months 😂

      Thanks for watching kabeer 👍👍 yeah it definitely can be done you might want to use some pvc oval conduit they come in different sizes there ideal for what you need, you can go deeper but if your going into brickwork remember the brick is only 65mm thick and blockwork is 100mm thick , use some cable entry sockets, you just got to chase out enough so it sits back flush the boxes are about 35 to 40mm thick hope this was of help 👍👍👊🏻.

      @@creativecrambo Thank you so much. This thing is new to me as I have very less knowledge in it.But I got the idea about one coat plaster, just because of your video. I hope this will be strong enough that won't be crack in future.
      Thank you once again.

      When you use the one coat plaster you might have to do a final fill all depends on how deep you do the chase out the plaster draws in when drying, ideally should be bonding and finish plaster if to deep thanks for reply mate👍👍 hope I was of some help 👍👍 .

      Actually I need some additional points in my house and I was thinking to cut the wall for wiring lines approx. 1.5 inches deep then I will use the same one coat plaster to hide those wiring lines as you did in this video. 🙂🙏❤️

    Why not install sockets for both cables? Also that extension lead has no place plastered in a wall. All that work and it still looks a mess 🤦‍♂️

    European regulations require cables to be run through conduits. By burying the cables directly into the wall, it will be impossible to pull a cable if a fault occurs in the future, necessitating the chasing of the wall again. Additionally, using an extension plug instead of installing a wall socket is completely unacceptable. This doesn't look like a proper job, mate. To be honest, more like a bodge job!
