@@kalvindick14 I think it's his parents place and not his and he always talks about driving 80 miles to get to this spot. In other words, he'd not only have to put everything down, he'd have to set up sprinklers on 3 acres of property to make sure it gets watered and grows in (edit: since he doesn't live there and can't be out there day to day, watering the lawn). But with that said, yeah, his lawn is mostly weeds and dust, so it's hard to get a real assessment of Luba's capabilities.
Still not nearly as bad as the Blade.. They put their charging pads on the bottom of the FRONT of the bot. The only place it could get any dirtier is if it were under the daggum cutting deck. In Luba's case, if your yard isn't dusty this isn't even an issue.
Exactly the same thing happens with the iRobot. It gives an error that it 'cant communicate with the base' and you have to clean the front of the unit and the area it looks at on the charging base.
This was over a year ago hasn't really happened since so it was either a software bug that they patched or something else that I wasn't considering at the time but no problems docking anymore
Yeah my experience is its just something you gotta do with bi weekly maintenance..... you been running yours harder than most of us (great testing) so I'd suggest that to others to finger wipe this ports. The real design flaw is it cutting all the way to the start point..... they gotta fix that. Especially if it's cutting around no go zones. It gotta turn those blades off before going to the first perimeter laps and turn off before going to cut around the no-go zone and then cut on before starting to cut each no go zones. Hopefully, I explained that right
I’ve had my Robowmow for seven years it still works perfectly. I’ve only change the blades once it always docs correctly. It has two large ‘male’ pins in the docking station and two female ‘holes’ On the unit doesn’t have any problems with dust or mud. The loop I should copy this system as they say if it ain’t broke don’t fix it😊
I'm familiar with Robomow, I had a 635 for 3 years, and it's been not a good experience. It was always broke down. The parts are expensive and the blades were expensive too. I'm glad yours worked out but it's a good riddance.
Husqvarna has an excellent connection method but I ditched them because of the 1700 feet of wire that had to be reinstalled. I went with the luba but its been very dry here so havent used it much.
Good question! I don't have a good answer 😂 It used to be more of a fence but there was a flood and most of it got wiped out. Now it's just a relic of a fence
A white lawnmower is the biggest flaw I see, it would be green after a single mow at my home in New Hampshire. They should’ve went dark/Hunter green or black.
.... its probably the static of the charging port attracking the dust..... try putting some rainex on it.... or mold realease spray might work..... oooooorrrrr ummmm you might want to ask AVE, this old tony, or hankgreen might know a simple way.
You said you have 3 acres. Are we to assume you're not mowing all that with the luba, since they only can go to 1.25 acres? Or is there trick to getting 3 acres mowed? I ask because I am buying house that is on 3 acres of property and I am guessing the law is probably 2 of them. Thanks.
You're correct Luba only mows 1.25 of it. There's no way around that so we still have to mow some areas. I guess if you want to delete and remake your map everyday Luba could mow as much as you wanted but it can only store 1.25 acres of map
@@Crazypostman thanks! I've got 5 acres and currently maintain all of it. I've got a 60" zero turn which is a bit overkill in the house yard so thinking this would be ideal 👌
I cleaned it every time I came to this house! The problem is I'm only there on Sundays and it mowed 7 days a week It would be all clogged after the first day haha
Turns out this was a software problem that has since been updated. It has not had any more problems at the charging station lately
I feel like this company should design a little sliding cover that shields it while mowing and opens to charge
Maybe is because there is too much dust around your yard, If I was you I’d put it in a more grass-covered spot.
Or just put down grass seed

Design flaw? It looks like you’re mowing in the Sahara desert
I mean ... why is your lawn dusty? :D
Uh, yeah. That needs a nice little cover that flips out of the way when it backs into the charger.

That is a terrible contact design. It depends on the robot for tension. Better systems use gravity or compression

Why not have two pins that pushes through springe covered holes so the connection happens inside the luba? To have it open is wierd.
Regular cleaning prevents that
yes, that's why I'm waiting for Version 2.
When is it coming?
same thing happened to my EcoFlow Blade, i have to wipe the charging contact points after every mowing task
I've had to wipe it off once so far
I would say the landroid charging connections are a better design.
And what is the point of that privacy fence? 🤣

My best guess would be they made it white to try to help keep it from overheating
That's your dirty ass lawn lol

I would put a big wing on it and make it look like an indy car! 😂
That would be fun

Plant more grass over that dust. If it can't see, hard to park. Better to stop than run over a precious item you own
Not a design flaw. It is designed to cut grass not dirt. 😂
hasn't rained In a month and it's been 110 most days just working with what I got down here 😂
You need to plant some grass. Your lawn is too bare.
Maybe you shouldn’t have it dock in dirt. Your yard looks like the problem.
This yard is certainly a worst case scenario for Luba lots of trees sticks dirt and sand
That lawn is giving me anxiety mate. You need to develop a little bit of ocd.
How much of the 3 acres does it maintain?
About 1.25
@@Crazypostman thanks! I've got 5 acres and currently maintain all of it. I've got a 60" zero turn which is a bit overkill in the house yard so thinking this would be ideal 👌
Funny that people telling you to clean it more... maybe haven't watched your two videos about cleaning the Luba?
I cleaned it every time I came to this house! The problem is I'm only there on Sundays and it mowed 7 days a week It would be all clogged after the first day haha
