I've had a Luba 2 for about a month now. We've named him Dave and he's now part of the family. My wife was skeptical but has noted that I don't complain about cutting the ******* grass anymore. Win-win.

@@randal3122 That's a bit too much. The top model,, LUBA 5000, can mow up to, surprise, 5000 square meters. So one acre is okay, but not several. You'd need several LUBAs then. Like one per acre.

At 10:43 Correction, those are not rain sensors, they a ultra-sonic sensors, part of obstacle avoidance. The rain sensor is on top near-middle of the mower consisting of two stainless steal rounded pins in a slight depression. They work as you describe.

I've had a Luba robot for two years now and for the most part I love it. I've learned over this time that you must have a strong wifi signal at the charging station to avoid problems. And Mammotion has improved the app since I first started using Luba, but it's still not the most intuitive. It needs to be improved further. The mower itself is rugged and does a great job mowing, even slopes. It leaves beautiful stripes and does a better job mowing than I do!

I’ve been using Husqvarna Automowers for about 10 years now. My current ones have a total of nearly 50,000 hours on them. They cut rain or shine. The lawns are perfect. The drawback was having wires buried in the lawn which stops hollow tyning and makes me nervous when scarifying but they now make a wire free system so…. The other thing to bear in mind is that parts for these things are horrendously expensive particularly batteries. My first machine ran for 5 years on the original batteries but it cost me £550 to put new ones in when I screwed up and stored it over winter without charging. I watched this and was amazed at the long grass that seemed to escape being cut when it moved on.

I have Luba 1. After one year Mammotion stopped completly support this first edition, so i guess this goes on with this one too. Actually the App, you have to use is maybe tuned more to this new model and it actually get worst in every update, for Luba 1 at least. It used to make connection in 30 seconds or so but it takes everytime many minutes. Also there is now some chines letters in some menu items and so on. If you do regular single cut pattern with Luba it will leave some tall uncut grass behind. This is due to poor desing and those too wide tyres (and too close to blades and so on). So if you want to have graass like in many videos you do need to due double pattern. Like somene mentioned here earlier the support is just not existing at all! There is a ton of issues and they wont get back to you at all. My Luba has been full of water sense i got it. If you lift the nose up there is water pooring from rear axels. You can even hear water spalashing inside. That uestion they did answer and they calimed to be normal!? Chinese engineers do stuff with minumun reuirements. That yo ushould always keep in mind when ordering chines products. This is just too expensivee toy not to work roperly and not to have any support what so ever or any quarantee services. I do not recomend this brand to anyone.

I bought a lawnmower in 1979 for $115 slightly used. Lawn-Boy. I'm still using it without a tune up, and I haven't even cleaned it. 1 blade change, 2 spark plugs. It does the automatic cutting too, powered by my kids, neighbor, wife, and friends. I think I've cut the lawn maybe once a year. So for $115 buckaroos plus $28 in parts for 45 years, my way is much more competitive, affordable, and healthier.

I would be curious what the lifespan of the blades are, especially for someone like yourself who has a large grass area. And while you say there's really no reason not to try one of their mowers, $2100 as a starting point is probably a no-go for a lot of people. Then again, you host a YT channel that is primarily geared toward the iPhone, and many in that group see no problem in dropping a $1000+ every year or so on the latest iPhone model.

@@-BUFFALOMan The people I was speaking about mow their own lawns (or don't mow at all), mainly because of the cost factor. If you can afford to pay someone over $2000/yr to mow and edge your lawns, then the cost may not be as big a factor for you. People who have large lots and have their own riding mower are probably laughing at this discussion of cost.

    • @robcaseyire

It works well when U take it out of the box after hours of mapping. Then a month later: the issue is Mammotion has no AI or U processor to deal with the variations in the SAT/LEO orbit congestion and firmware (because of SOC incorporation) updates are almost weekly as this product is not capable of positioning to the ever changing stratospheric environment and this reviewer is only reviewing the mechanics and simple electronics of the machine. Luba has no tech or customer support and I think even Amazon has dumped them as they are a over-hyped firm with now mower heritage. Avoid Mammotion like a skunk on your lawn as it is problematic and U spend more time troubleshooting this inferior positioning deice then mowing. Their RTK system is no up to the job and creeper U need 28 Sats to communicate with the RTK and Robot. A scam product, do not spend your hard-earned money on a product with no integrity or customer service which this reviewer dismisses as he knows they are not bona-fida. Forget the warranty as it is not supported once they have your money!!

My luba lost reception, again, in a very bad place right next to the garage. My wife didn't see it, and clipped it with her truck.
Broke the front and rear suspension, and I was getting fault code for the front motor.
Initially tech support seemed like they were going to help. I gave them all the information. They sent another email asking for the device name, which I sent. I never heard from again. I sent numerous emails. I told them, I am capable of doing the repairs myself, and that I will pay for the parts. Nothing. My only option is to buy the only set of used motors is can find for $250, and epithet JB weld tge suspension or pay about $600 for a used set. No guarantee that will fix my $2,700 paperweight.
If you're the gambling type, buy a Luba. Do not expect any support if you have a problem.

Hi, I love your video, it solves some of my problems very well. But some of the information I checked mentioned that the performance of the wireless model is not very stable, and the performance of the wired model is more stable. So can you do a video comparison of mowing robots that need to be wired? I searched some on Amazon, can you do a comparison of anthbot and sunseeker's lawnmower robots? Or other brands can also, want to buy a more stable performance of the lawn cutting robot, but know little about it.Thank you very much!

I can share my personal experience with you. I have purchased the Luba 2, and the RTK technology truly impressed me as it significantly alleviated the burden of lawn mowing. However, it also presented several challenges. Firstly, the stability of this technology is not optimal; once my Luba 2 loses signal, it ceases to function. Therefore, if your lawn is not spacious enough, Luba 2 may not provide you with an ideal experience. On another note, a friend of mine acquired the Anthbot that you mentioned and informed me that apart from initially burying the wire which requires some time investment, this machine operates efficiently on subsequent occasions independently. Moreover, in comparison to LUBA2's utilization of RTK technology, perhaps you could explore test videos showcasing this alternative machine!

The grass stops growing in the months of July and August anyway. You just need to cut it once every 4 weeks. Also it's great exercise, not sure anyone other than someone very old or injured can't cut their lawn. Also what about trimming, there is no way this is going to trim around areas that need it after cutting the lawn. I don't see a bag so the clipping just go everywhere. You're not going to get a great job, it will just be a very rough cut with long growing grass left all over the place...

    • @andrew7320j
      @andrew7320j 6 месяцев назад +1

Great exercise indeed, but some folks don’t want to let the mowing of their lawn dictate their free time or days off. Not bagging clippings is called “mulching” is is quite commonplace, unless the grass has grown too tall. It’s good for your lawn as well. I have an EGO lawnmower and usually trim every other mowing, especially this time of year. I imagine a person wouldn’t have a difficult time deciding if their lawn is due for a trimming by giving it a quick glance, but maybe that’s just my unreliable and wild technique…

Forget the warranty as it is not supported once they have your mone

As someone with a nice lawn, I am anxiously waiting to hear and see Ryan Knorr's review after using a Luba for a while. Without any suction, i am skeptical in the cut quality...but then again you can have it mow everday....so blades should never lay down.

Not for a big lawn that's frequently cut. A robot can mow every day to keep the law perfect.

Yeah I take mine inside when it’s done and only have it cutting when I’m home. I don’t even live in the city sadly. It’s probably just as bad in the country unfortunately. I’ve never been robbed, but I know people who have had things stolen, so I am not risking it. Thought about getting a dog house as I’m sure most robbers would not think anything of value would be in there, but still risky.

Luba makes a mower called YUKA that does that now, but in my opinion, it's better to leave the micro clippings. To each his own though.
