Thanks for the heads up! I ONLY wanted this unit due to the ease of cleaning with a hose! So many on the market to pick from now. Guess I need to look elsewhere! I really appreciate you making this video to give consumers accurate information that the company will not!
Mammotion has backtracked on this again since this video. They now say it's okay to spray off the bottom with a water hose again as long as it's on its tilted to the side and not on its back. So if you just tilt it to the side and spray off the bottom and then put it back on its feet everything should be fine. I don't think they are super confident on their waterproof seals, but after the backlash they decided it was worth a few warranty claims to not upset everybody.

The cleaning (with water) issue is all I am waiting for. When that is fixed .... I am in.
I agree with you. That is a drastic change in their specs. I was hoping to buy a Luba in future, but am starting to think I should look at other alternatives.
Hopefully they will redesign The piece that's failing for future mowers and not just permanently remove the ability to spray it off with a hose underneath

The problem is, I don't know if there's a good alternative at the moment. The things that I'm personally looking for are:
* No boundary wires
* 4WD or at least AWD, which allows it to handle slopes without slipping (I'm looking at you, Worx Landroid L)
* A mower where the back and front can move separately, so that the entire mower doesn't pop up every time it hits a pebble and triggers a "mower lifted" error (yeah, looking at you again Worx!)
* needs to cut to at least 3.5". I'd prefer 4", since I grow turf type tall fescue, but it seems that getting 4" is nearly impossible (the reason why I bought the Worx Landroid L).
The only mower that meets all of these specs is the Luba. I don't mind that I need to use a brush to clean it. What I DO mind is the fact that they want you to clean it after every single time it goes out to cut! That's unreasonable to me. If I have to spend 30 minutes (or more) cleaning it every day (instead of once a month when I change the blades), then why shouldn't I just get a battery riding lawn mower and zip through my acre of land in 25 minutes every other day?

Yeah the no water debate has gone back and forth a few times Just make sure if you spray it with water it's on its side instead of on its back and you'll be okay better yet just use a leaf blower unless it's really bad. I love my luba!
So I’m 67 in July and have only quarter acre property. Have a Honda riding mower and Honda self drive. But really don’t like going out 2 times a week to mow. I’ve been waiting for a Luba to be invented. This might be it. I’m between 1000 and 3000 model. For extra 500 bucks might be good just to have the extra battery power of the 3000. Anyway I enjoy your videos.

Very interesting. I certainly intended to clean the Luba - 2 5000 with the use of a garden hose ( not a power washer ). Do you know if the water spray warning applies to ALL Lubas ( models 1 and 2) or only the first generation? Thanks again for posting this informative video!
This definitely needs to be addressed ASAP. Lots of people (including me) have the Luba on pre-order and have plenty of time to cancel still.

Crazy, I watched that video this morning and all I could think of was your videos with Luba flipped over hosing it off full power, and several times! I totally agree with you - I think there instructions now make Luba IPX1, that's it, and that's false advertising. Like you I get plenty of flawless cuts a week, but if it dies in 6 months from a little water I'm going to be pissed.
It's a Chinese company there is no such thing as false advertising claims. At all. Zero. Their only motivation is to avoid bad reviews and lower sales. Let's hope they recover from this but the fact that they aren't acknowledging shows they don't want people to avoid buying it. It still hasn't made me completely think about avoiding honestly
I’m not convinced yet of this mower, I’ve had mine for 2 weeks now. It does a nice job cutting but lots of little glitches in the programming, I’m not sure of the long term durability of the unit, the underside has some damage already.
It’s disappointing that they have limited the mowers cutting area, if can easily cut more then 5000m2 in a week but I guess they tell you that when purchasing.
I wonder if they still honour the 2 year warranty if it’s it gets water damage.
Very useful video. I have just placed an order for a 5000 in UK for a 5000. Based on reviews, specs and Mammotion web site details. This would be illegal advertising in UK and against advertising standards if the claim IPX6 but you can’t spray wash it.
Is it up for debate if "any angle" means while luba is normally positioned or if it means water dumped on luba while luba is in any angle?
Mine is not working since I followed the original cleaning instructions except I forgot to turn it on and remove key. Any suggestions? I have the 5000.
This video was very helpful. I'm not purchasing this unit after seeing this. The whole reason we get these units is to remove hassle. This is the opposite of that.
They did a double reversal and it's okay to spray down your luba again.
Thanks for making this video, it's good to hear all views on this. I don't think they are necessarily walking back on the waterproof rating per-se, it's just that as you point out towards the end of the video, the Luba has a tender underbelly and is no longer ipx6 if that's damaged. The only way to fix this is a more robust rubber boot. The only reason users have been washing it down though is due to the safety guards - quick release bolts on those to make them easier to remove would negate the need to hose down.
I think they need to improve their communication though, this is the second major drop on a weekend that's annoyed users. They really should avoid that. This video should also have been emailed to all purchasers as well.
I believe They were legitimately IPX6 in the beginning, but with the possible failure of that rubber piece they are asking people not to spray it with water and I get that that makes sense. But I think they should redesign the piece that's failing and offer a replacement part If requested (some people might not care) so we can maintain the level of protection throughout Luba's life span.
@@Crazypostman I think they should redesign the piece - I guess the big problem for mammotion is the time and cost of RMA for all the units out there. If they said that they were working on a fix, and that it would be available from a dealer at the end of the season and this cleaning method was an interim solution (but would always be recommended) - I think would go a long way to resolving the problem.
I think at the moment they've been caught out by the firmware debacle and the water ingress issue and their customer support hasn't been able to keep up. They've always struggled with the difficult communication. I don't think it's a good strategy to drop anything on a weekend. Firmware, app updates, videos, changes etc should only go on Mondays and Tuesdays and customer service should be ready for the extra demand these will cause.

I have a quick question about the Luba 5000 (Not about waterproofness) since you have apparently been using one for a while. A local robot lawncare gave me a Luba 5000 to demo for a couple weeks. I really like the performance of the machine and the only issue I have is mapping "no-go" zones. I laid them out for a shed and round flower bed in a counterclockwise rotation but the Luba doesn't seem to want to cut close to the border I laid out. It's like one width of the Luba it misses. It apparently acknowledges the no-go zone but almost acts like the sensor is on the right side of the unit. Have you found that the Luba 5000 has a preferential side to use as the inside edge when laying out zones?
I have found this to be an issue as well, It doesn't clean up around no go zones like it does on a border cut. I'm filming a video right now for later tonight I'm going to mention this hopefully they can update this in the software quickly.
@@Crazypostman ...I have a steep short hill to a sidewalk about 35-40 degrees I was concerned about. Husqvarna dealer said those won't handle it. The Luba has handled it like a champ twice without issue. Only issue has been the cleanup of no-go areas. Shout it loud so they address it cuz I want to buy this thing in the worst way.

Mammotion has said they will be adding a border cut around the no go zones in a future update.
It's the same thing with many products. What they say is that the product is IPX6 (or whatever) *** only on the day it leaves the factory ***. As the seals wear over time, the IP rating no longer applies. For instance, I wear an extremely expensive medical device, that is "waterproof", and the manual says you can swim with it, but the manufacturers also clearly tells us: "DON'T SWIM WITH IT". Many wearers of this product has learnt the hard way that water gets into it and destroys it after they went swimming. The IP rating system should also have some time component to it, like "IPX6 at least for 1 year", and what you can do to make sure it stays IPX6 for the duration of the product's lifespan.
We are ready to buy the 5000 after months of comparing different mowers. If they cant resolve this, could you just use something lik a pie tin to shroud the blade? At 3:45 in the video, there is 3 silver screws visible that the pan/bowl/shroud could be mounted to. Just a thought, it would keep debris from the nooks and crannies AND teflon coated pan would be washdown!
In fairness, a lot of yard crews use pressure washers that have crazy high PSI ratings. You can sandblast with them 🙂
This has been reversed again now they say it's back to being okay to use a water hose to clean underneath.
What do you think - Does it last at least 4-5 years working? Wha'ts the build quality compared to the previous mowers you had? Thank you!
It seems like it's built solid, but there's no real way to estimate this, only time will tell. I will probably find out first since I was one of the earlier recipients and my luba is maxed out

maybe it is IPX6, but after some wear and tear it's not safe, and maybe some are spraying too hard with pressure washers
I am purchasing a mower and was torn between luba and ecoflow blade. If this is true then i eill have to purchase the ecoflow blade.
I would nudge you away from the blade, Even with lube's problems it's better.
It is IPX0... Luba si great when it works. But it will never be relaible! It is only question of time when you get a huge hole on that rubber on motor. I have luba one year now and I had so many problems. I actually have a third one! One came with a broken axle. The second one burned its lift motor after a few weeks. Third one works almost a year now but it is full of water now and it has many problems.
the most important thing is how the manufacturer requests. Because if you don't work as specified by the manufacturer, you can't claim anything. You lose the warranty and cannot claim a material defect in the product. I have in mind mainly the first official video from lube and the second official video from lube. greetings.

I totally agree with what you are saying about all sides, I just don't know why it would be shown differently in the intro video, half of them would also wash the lube with a hose from the bottom and not just from the top.

only from ipx7 the thing is meant to be water resistant and meant for submersion and water resistant from all sides.
I'm not suggesting Luba be submerged? I've never mentioned putting luba underwater.
How did they get the certification in the first place if it isn't really waterproof?
I remember videos from the Kickstarter days of them doing waterproof testing... To be honest I think it is legitimately waterproof but they weren't expecting such a high failure rate on that rubber piece underneath.
Just wondering if manufacturers can claim the IPX rating on their own? Or is this subject to a certification and approved centers?… which in that case would prove an (too) easy given certification.
The proper way to publish this rating would be to have it independently verified by a laboratory. I guess they could have self-certified also I'm not sure
Retired federal regulatory expert here. For things requiring marketing approval like medical devices, all compliance statements must be independently verified. In lieu of that, a consumer product company can self-test/self-certify. But there is a huge catch that has led me to walk out of design control meetings when company lawyers open their mouths, which is: if the product is used for commercial use, even if it was not marketed for commercial use, then OSHA requires the product to be not only certified but certified by one of a short list of authorized labs ('NRTLs;' UL is the best known). The legal issue is that technically it is the employer who is responsible, not the manufacturer, but I can tell you from 35+ years, that sh#t don't fly in front of an OSHA inspector.
Follow-up (tl;dr): I found Mammotion's original cleaning video and they claim IPX independently certified by TüV Rheinland, an ISO authorized Notified Body and pretty much the UL of Europe. But the IEC certification standards (the U.S. follows them as well, but in its dual role as both an NRTL and also a U.S. "Standards Body" UL re-issues them as "North American Standards") only requires three production units for certification. If a manufacturing or materials defect is sporatic, it might not show up until the next NRTL (or in this case, NB) review, which can be anywhere from six months to two years later. P.S. yes I know this stuff is boring, but somebody has to do it.
What about using a leaf blower on the bottom?
They have now reversed their backtrack... So I'm not even sure what direction we're going now lol But they say it is okay to spray off your luba again... I leaf blower might be okay if everything's all dry it could probably get it all out most of the time mine is caked on pretty good so I need the water hose.
IPX6 is 100l a minutes from any direction for a total time of 3 minutes with the unit in its normal orientation. Any test lab that gave them the rating would have done it this way.

Anyways, that is quite a big change that they don't even want you spraying water from the side even when Luba is resting normally (upright) on the ground.

I have been looking at Segway navimow but it does not handle zones.
The Husqvarna 320 is more expensive.
The ecovac blade have these strange front omniwheels.
I could recommend Husqvarna EPOS but it's almost twice the price. All the others (RTK and vision) that I've seen so far I would not recommend over Luba. We'll just have to keep waiting another season or two to get more product offerings from other companies and to let the technology mature.
That’s sad , since from I can tell you have to clean this thing so much more often than a husky. I clean my husky maybe monthly if I remember but still don’t have to break it down that far.
Navimow is also IPX6 yet it says in the manual never to use a high pressure washer. I think all/most robot mowers should never be cleaned with high preasure washers
I think everybody agrees with you on that fact You should not use a pressure washer on luba, or take Luba to a car wash. I'm just talking about spraying it with a garden hose.
Yeah, like you said. It's IP6X so it should be fine. Looked in my Navimow manual and it says "inspection and maintenance should be carried our by an adult every week". "Use a soft brush or cloth to clean the exterior". "If the chassis and blade disc is dirty, use a brush or a water hose to clean". So I guess thats a lot better than what Mammotion are saying right now
I agree. There is no reason to. I've never used a hose on my lawn equipment.

@@Crazypostman I merely stated that after visiting the Mammotion website and checking the prices of the accessories they offer for this mower reminds me of shopping for a inkjet printer. For the price of the ink, the printer should be free. For example the price of the replacement blades for this mower is $29.00 plus tax plus shipping. Seems to be quite outrageous for these tiny scraps of stainless steal that are most likely outsourced from China.
@@daddywags1000 yeah that's pretty standard, luckily these type of blades are very universal. You can get the cheapest ones you want from wish probably won't last as long though.
I was very much against the Luba after watching this, but I now see Mammotion changed the video to allow washing underneath, just not powerspray or on it's back.

I'm sure the crew at Mammotion are scrambling to address this. Its a new product and stuff like this is bound to happen. Just like a recall for a car really. But regardless, i have only cleaned mine once. I did it by hand, took a few minutes to pick the grass out with my fingers. I have seen a lot of videos of people spray cleaning it and i cringed every time. One bad seal and you ruin the electronics, which is whats happening.
My only complaint for how Mammotion is handling this is that they should send out an email to all buyers explaining the situation, what not to do for cleaning and what Mammotion plans to do about the issue. Not doing so exposes them to warranty claims.
Most likely the new buyers will be sol. Even if they find a fix. It is just how things work. They will only address warranty claims and likely very slowly. Focus will be on shipping to new buyers, marketing and positive reviews.
@@Scott-dn1bk I wouldn't be so sure. They held up production and delivery for several months to redesign the rear bit that holds the wheels on because it was breaking in some situations. Granted that might have been a bit worse but it is still a similar situation.

This is more like a car... Cars get TSBs for failures and people could be sent replacement parts for the hotfix.
And the next year of the same model has the fix already installed.
Except this is a mower, not a car or an airplane. People will not die if you don't clean the under-deck.

You're not going to see regular blades on the luba, there's some other companies that have robot mowers that have blades but they're not RTK type
Most people using that IPX6 = 100 kilopascal, 100L/minute really maintain that 3 m distance too?
IPX 6 doesn't cover pressure washers - 12.5mm (1/2 inch) nozzles are not your Karcher or similar and they generate far more pressure than a faucet.
I can totally understand why you are upset but I think it's important not to skip over the nozzle size, as 12.5mm is more like a hose jet vs a high pressure cleaner. IPX6 is a really high standard and should easily withstand a hosing down to clean rather than disassembly and scraping, easier to manually mow
Okay, the size of your hose aside, their video said do not use water to clean the bottom of of Luba. IPX6 that is not.
@Crazypostman I completely agree. It is not what you were sold. If I look up other sites, they state it as "Can resist high-pressure, heavy sprays of water," which is to your point exactly. The mower should be quick and easy to maintain. It is meant to automate your life, not create more work.

Agreed that is quite a distance, but The standard also says 100L of water per minute from all directions. That's quite a bit of water pouring on it.

Crazy, this video makes me sad that they lied. :^( I was seriously going to buy one next month. Not any more. I will look at other brands. If they do lower the rating they should also lower the price.
The problem is, I've looked at many of the other options that are coming or available now for boundarywire free mowers, there's no better option currently IMO. The best alternative option I see now is the Husqvarna EPOS but it's only two wheel drive and it's almost twice the price. Some of the vision only that I've seen are having real problems eco flow is having real problems luba is actually doing better than most but this loss of water resistance because of a bad design on the mower deck is a setback for Luba for sure.

I helped them clarify whether the test was IPX5 or IPX6 and they said IPX5. This is part of their verification/safety process.
Now maybe because your model is a test model, perhaps it’s not IPX6, but the commercially certified version could be (with the proper fixes applied). Does you Luba have UL Listed / CE markings? If not, then perhaps your test mowers didn’t go through an official certification process.
Also, just because something is IPX6 doesn’t mean the manufacturer can’t recommend IPX2-like processes. Now if they deny a warranty claim because you did IPX5 or IPX6 cleaning processes and their documentation says it’s IPX6 (is it in the manual?) then I believe you’d have some legal rights you could choose to flex, if the time came.
They could also be encouraging this conservative behavior because of a know defect to keep people from disabling their mower until it can be corrected and a replacement part can be installed in the backers’ mowers.
Ugh... Maybe we can do something else for now... like using a lawn mower deck spray, silicone lubricant coating, or graphite spray?
I know that specifically mower under-deck sprays are very difficult to get ahold of now, it seems that every company that existed in that market has stopped selling/producing it (deck spray).
But at least a lube spray underneath should help minimize the grass clipping from sticking to the underside?

A lot of frustration here for those who already got it (and paid the full price), and possibly already hosed it.. which, sadly, is even no longer recommended ..
So that means It's IPX3. IPX6 means it can get sprayed from any angle. IPX6 from topside only does not compute 😫 this might not be a big deal to some but to others it's huge.
Mine Luba was 4 days old and now no longer works after a heavy downpour. The thing is not suitable to have any waterproof rating. Had two reply’s from Mammotion then nothing.
I'm sorry to hear that! Thats certainly not normal, had to have been a manufacturing defect because these things are built to live outside.

This is a good read from a standards testing company about the standard. They say; A product that is IPX6 certified gives customers confidence that Any water exposure less than immersion will not impact the performance of the device.

This new video seems perfect! It's exactly what I would expect from an IPX6 certification. Not spraying it with it turned upside down makes perfect sense because it allows water to pool but spraying it with it on its side or standing up should be perfectly allowable! We'll see how this goes 😂
Personally i think it's great that people who don't understand the damages that can be done with a pressure washer will avoid buying it.
I am not bothered at all to "dry brush" the under side, and spray the top side. Electronics are sensitive to water, and I payed A LOT for this machine, so I will care for it like a baby. No high pressure water jets to clean a baby, right? Although sometimes you'd like to have some distance. lol

But what you claim is meaningless, because then the mark would be ipx7 and not ipx6.
I don't understand why you don't agree? I'm not giving my opinion of what I think it should be, I'm reading the requirements for IPX6 which states, the product must resist strong jets of water from all directions for 3 minutes. That's how they marketed the luba.

I would screen shot that ip6 rating shown on the web. Sounds like some false advertisement. Unless the company comes up with a fix for wherever they think the water is getting in.
As long as they keep honoring warranty claims for water ingress it is not false advertising. Because it is IPX6 waterproof until that piece gets compromised on the bottom.
I think Luba is just trying to protect themselves, 12.5mm jet of what angle? You could easily damage a precision piece of equipment getting too happy with a high powered pressure washer.
They are absolutely trying to protect themselves because they are finding out that Luba may not be capable of IPX6 like they advertised it as.
IPX6 Powerful water jets. Water sprayed for 3 minutes at 15 PSI (100 kPa), with 100 litres per minute. A High Pressure Washer runs AT LEAST 10 x that high on up to Well Over 100 x as High. I've seen High Pressure washers strip the Paint of new cars, imagine what 2000psi would do to the switches, buttons and seals on this Mower. IPX6 means it will take Rain and hand washing, not from a standard 1200psi Hi Press Washer I don't know how you consider 15psi to be High Pressure ? ? ? Atmospheric pressure at Sea Level is 14.7psi.
I've got the Luba 3000 and clean the undersides a Bottle Brush & compressed air, always directing the air away from Motor Seals & Buttons. Yes, compressed "Shop Air" is usually 125 - 175psi, but you can direct an air-nozzle Very easily and away from Buttons & Seals. Always wear Safety Glasses when using compressed air. It's more difficult to direct a Garden hose or Pressure Washer spray because the water will contaminate anything that shouldn't get wet.
Another tip I found works quite well is to lightly spray the cutter blade attaching hardware and underside decking "Nooks & Crannies" w/ WD-40. It won't hurt the motor seals and makes the underside deck grass clippings release much easier.
I think Luba's description of High Pressure Washer is Correct and fitting.
After watching the video, I am not buying a Luba 5000 or 10,000. If you can’t spray them down I’d rather just buy a spider mower instead
I honestly don't mind the fact that they want you to use a brush underneath. The part I DO have an issue with is the fact that it needs to be cleaned AFTER EVERY USE??? Are you serious? All of these robot mowers are meant to be run every day or at worst, every other day. It takes off a tiny amount of grass, you always have a perfectly manicured lawn and life is great. I'm sorry, NOBODY is going to be diligent enough to go out there every single day and clean it. NOBODY! A day (or 5) will pass and you won't be able to clean it. What happens when you go on a little vacation? I guess you can't use it? What happens when your job requires you be out of town for 3 days? I guess you can't use it?
To me, the biggest benefit of these robot mowers is that they (supposedly) do their thing with VERY LITTLE intervention on our part. Maybe once a month you change the blades, clean underneath it and it's ready to go again. If I have to spend 45 minutes literally every day cleaning it, well how is that better than me getting a zero turn riding mower and spending 20 minutes every day just cutting the lawn myself?
I actually have the money sitting, ready to buy this thing. But I sent them a question regarding cutting height and they still haven't responded to me a week later. I know that they're a kickstarter company, but that lack of a response scares the living daylights out of me. What happens if something goes wrong, I contact them and they don't respond? I'm holding off on buying this for now.
I'm going to remove the side guards I bet that helps alleviate some of the grass collecting... I've had a Husqvarna 310 model at my house for 5 years and I have cleaned it exactly zero times in those years 😂

I completely understand. Luckily we have a battery-powered leaf blower that will probably be able to blow off most of the undercarriage but it certainly not as good of an option as being able to just spray it with water.

It's a real joke this one. They even had official videos with the mower's underside being cleaned with a hose... On another note, many people are reporting that removing the protection grill improves performance and greatly reduces clogged grass on the underside. There is just one problem that I can think of with that - the blades can be easily accessed if someone reaches under the it from the side (and the mower is running). If there's no such risk, removing the grill should be OK.

Very disappointing! I can't even imagine removing all the blades and both blade disks to clean the mower after every use. This should either be a recall fix or they should allow the product to be returned if it can't be corrected. Otherwise I can see a class action lawsuit coming!
To me, using a brush isn't the issue. Cleaning it every day it goes out to cut IS the bigger issue. My plan was to buy this and have it go out every other day. Imagine spending 30-40 minutes 3 or 4 days a week just cleaning it? At that point, how is that any better than just buying a lithium powered battery lawn mower and quietly going out and cutting your lawn 3 times a week?
To be fair here while the instructions do say to clean it off after each use I only see Luba once a week The other six days it mows every day without me seeing it or cleaning it so that doesn't stop it from mowing but y'all have seen some of my previous videos where it did have quite the buildup underneath.
If you have to spend 45 min cleaning it , it kinda negates the idea of a autonomous robot mower. My indoor moping bot cleans itself..
To be honest I plan to just hit it with the leaf blower and get the loose stuff and maybe get the caked on stuff only if it looks bad

I would mod the back half a large hole grid for better grass removal, cast those boots and use automotive grade boot material and put a silicon skin over the stop button. I wonder what motors are on these. Doubt they are proprietary. Then at that point I'm only worried about their boards and software
Not impressed. Having said that I clean all my mowers with a hose even if the manufacturers say not. Life is too short to fart about scraping mush from under the deck. Most of the time it is the manufacturers erring on the side of caution so they can deny warranty claims. However if it fails I won't buy from them again.
Just keep washing it with a hose dude, If they can't back their IPX6 then their will be a lot of backlash for the company.

I have to say that I don't agree with your opinion, because the official video shows how to clean the lube and how not to clean it. the first as the first means ipx6 as you yourself said and showed in the table that it is protected from all directions against water ingress, only that does not mean that it is from below as well. That is
robotic lawnmower and it is on wheels, so it makes no sense for it to be protected from below with ipx6. Once again, I refer to the official video, where it is nicely shown how to clean it and how not to clean it. However, I am of the opinion that water cannot come from below when mowing, in normal use for which it is intended.
I understand the manufacturer mamotion and their video completely, because people would probably wash the lube with high pressure cleaners and everything, that's why they made a video.
I only remember the woman's lawsuit, how she sued McDonald's when she spilled hot coffee on herself and it wasn't written that it was hot on the packaging, they probably want to avoid such and similar things.

If they don't want sprays of water hitting the bottom of the mower they shouldn't label it as IPX6, because that means you can spray the bottom.
If It can only resist sprays from the top They should have labeled it IPX2.
But Mammotion has advertised a mower that has IPX6 capability.

The words at the top of the screen said do not use water to clean underneath Luba. And the example in the video they used was putting a red X on somebody spraying it with a garden hose not a pressure washer.
Blow it out with an Air compressor.
It is a complex machine with a lot of electronics in it. I would never tried to hose it clean lying upside down, whatever IP rating is written in the advertising. I clean my luba once a week with a screwdriver and a brush, no problem (and no messy grass sludge).
Keep mowing when the gras is dry, like you do with any other lawnmower on this planet...
IPX6- 3min, 3 m ??? What pressure????? You can destroy concrete with 1000 bar easyly. I think it is common sense, not to use a high pressure sprayer to cean it. You don't put a cat into a microwave oven too, don't you?😂
The IPX6 standard does define a pressure. The strongest pressure level standard is IPX6K
I understand you. It would be nice to clean it with water. But there are niches you can not reach with water anyway. It might be possible for now, but then will the sealing be leaking? You never know. The thing is to expensive to risk a water damage. Try pressured air instead. Cheers Ulf.

A power washer and a garden hose are very different. A 12.5 mm opening is a half-inch opening. That’s a garden hose with nothing on it. Why are you mad about being told not to use a pressure washer and then citing the garden hose safety rating?
The standard is between 2 - 3 times the water output of a standard garden hose. 100 liters per minute.
@@Crazypostman the point is it is not talking about a pressure washer. A pressure washer has a tiny nozzle way smaller than 12.5 mm in diameter and doesn’t actually spray very much water. It can make it high pressure due in part to the fact that it has a relatively small nozzle. You just want to be mad. Being mad doesn’t change what 12.5 mm is. 12.5 mm is still 12.5 mm whether or not you are mad. That’s what I’m trying to get you to realize. They say don’t use a pressure washer. And you shouldn’t use a pressure washer. Whether or not you should spray it off with the hose is a different matter. Whether or not it still meets IPX6 is another matter. *If* it is no longer an IPX6 device when it was sold as one, yeah, be mad about that. But that’s a different issue. A device that meets IPX6 cannot withstand the pressure of a pressure washer. It isn’t supposed to. The definition of IPX6 tells you this. Find a “pressure washer” that has a nozzle diameter of 12.5 mm. I guarantee you it won’t be what the average consumer can go to the hardware store and buy in a box that says pressure washer.
That still doesn't explain why you can't wash it with a garden hose while lifting one side up
@@hans-henrikjensen I’d still do so, regardless, if I had one. I can’t really see it doing anything to it. I agree that they shouldn’t be calling it an IPX6 device if it isn’t one. They’ll probably have to stand behind the ones that have already been sold as such anyway.

Problem is, noone will read IPX6 specs and keep the nozzle 3 meters away from the mower. The specs is also made from the perspective of the mowers normal position (standing on its 4 wheels). If you use a regular garden hose, I'm very certain you can spray it from 3m away, but people will get in closer if the dirt doesnt loosen from 3 meters.
