Tommy was actually even more insane in real life, they all felt like walking on eggshells around him because they knew any little thing could set him off
Fact: His first kill was when he was 18. He and Hill were walking down the street one night, and they say a guy coming toward them, a guy neither of them knew, a total stranger, and Tommy shot him dead for no reason.
@@kylewestlake982 i heard it was because he got a new gun and wanted to try it out.
@@Melphas I believe that! Either way, he shot a civilian. He was pretty messed up.
Hill was a notorious liar and severe alcoholic, take everything he ever said with a huge grain of salt
for sure he was definitely intense and was describe as a animal
Its actually crazy how much power the MOB had in the 40s,50s,60s and 70s 😂
Definitelyyy
They had so much pull in Hollywood that in movies as late as the '70s they would use euphemisms like "the organization" or "the mob" instead of calling it the mafia.
80's early 90's after 9/11 a very very slow comeback but well below the Cartels and other "Gangs" of today. Anybody in their right mind of the old New York, Chicago, Boston etc etc would never want to be the boss. Now in Italy and Sicely that's a whole different ballgame. #Facts
During WW 2 the Mafia had made a deal with the US government to protect the docks from foreign infiltration and act as strike breakers. Something many don't know is that during WW 2 there were more strikes in the US than at any other point in our nations history. The government really wasn't interested in dealing with this in and around the docks. So they used the Mafia to illegally put a stop to it. As payment for that and other 'favors' to the CIA, the Mafia got to operate without any concerted gov. interference. Kennedy made deals with the Mafia and then betrayed them. His brother RFK was the first to really go after the Mafia in the early 60s.
80s and maybe half the 90s
Tommy's mom in this film was played by Martin Scorsese's actual mother and she had libbed all her lines because she was already so close to the actors in the dinner scene it was natural for her to interact with them like that because they'd all been her son's friends for so long, except Ray Liotta, hence the line about him being the quiet one.
Spider's actor had cut his hand, so they took him to the hospital still in the bloody costume. He kept trying to tell the doctors it was just his hand even though he was covered in blood, but they thought he was delirious. They shoved him into a bed and dragged him to the ICU. When they finally realized what he was saying and that's he's an actor, they were furious. lol
Omg that’s crazy🤣😬
Tommy's mother ( who they ate dinner from and got the knife from) is the director of the movie Martin Scorsese's mother in real life
R.I.P RAY Liotta
The scene where Paulie tells Henry not to mess with drugs, & slaps him-the slap wasnt in the script-Paul Sorvino, the actor who played Paulie, just thought Henry wasnt paying attention enough, lol, so he slapped him. The look of suprise on Henry's face is real :)
Oh & the cop in the end that Henry tells him "nowhere cold", he's the real FBI agent who dealt with Henry during his case :)
Lol thanks for letting me know that😄would’ve never guessed
Oh wowww
Despite your young age you seems to be very wise in reading people. Somebody gets lucky by having you on his/her side.
Thank you so much🙏🏼🙏🏼
Bronx Tale was soooo good. Loved that film as well. Yeah, Robert DeNiro has soo many classics under his belt. Goodfella is no different; another banger! Keep em coming.
Now yous can't leave.
And wasn't even the main character in some of them. Bobby's goated
She, and a bunch of actors in this, also in the TV show, The Sopranos! And the movie, Casino!!
Journey great reaction as always! If you enjoyed this you'll enjoy Casino with a lot of the same actors and same director. Martin Scorsese, Robert Dinero, Joe Pesci and also Sharon Stone. Another excellent "mob" movie.
Really cool trivia bits of the movie: rumor has it that Henry’s wife may have actually had an affair with one of the mobsters, and the fbi agent who negotiated with Henry and Karen-yeah that’s the ACTUAL FBI negotiator who talked to Henry. The real life Henry hill ended up making a cookbook after he got kicked out out the witness protection program.
She was having an affair with pauly
I own his cook book lol
I can't believe this; I JUST discovered your channel yesterday, just watched you do "The Godfather"......now one day you do "Goodfellas"??? Am I in Italian mob movie heaven?? 🤣 FANTASTIC reaction! Wild movie, right? "Casino" is practically a sequel, it's like "Goodfellas Goes To Vegas". "Donnie Brasco" with Al Pacino and Johnny Depp is also very good. Those movies plus the first two Godfathers and you've got the best mafioso movies under your belt! Lots to say but I won't bore you other than to say it's only been one day and I'm a VERY happy subscriber! GREAT reaction video!
Lol thank you so much! I’m glad you’re enjoying my reactions & I really appreciate the support🙏🏼
@@journeymariereacts Hey, I forgot to tell you one more thing: Love the lights, love the pink chair, the painting on the wall, the camera angle....you got a really great formula, don't change a thing! (Or do whatever you want, you know better than me! :D) PS: I'm going to throw out one title at you I think you'd really love: JACKIE BROWN! Have you seen Jackie Brown? Pam Grier, Samuel Jackson, Robert De Niro, Michael Keaton, Chris Tucker, Bridget Fonda...blah blah blah.....1997. GREAT movie! Also "Death Proof". Both of those are Tarantino movies with kick-ass female main characters.....you'd KILL on both of those videos. (You'd also kill on the horror movies "Rosemary's Baby" and "Carrie"!)
The part where Henry is just dying laughing that's my screensaver for my phone. Rip Ray Liotta🙏
Joe Pesci won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor 🥰
You said something in the vid that nobody caught. " Jimmy might be crazier than Tommy "
Yes he was. In fact, he groomed Tommy into a killer, which spiraled out of control once he got older. Tommy was already unhinged from the get go, but Jimmy watered that seed.
Good catch
I definitley agree with you on that for sure
I believe in real life Paulie ordered the hit on Tommy. Tommy was out of control and he killed a made man. That was unforgivable.
And assaulted karen so that sealed the deal with him
Henry's dad was not an a- hole. He was a hard working family man trying to raise his children. The guy who said, "Two n/%@ers just stole my truck" was an a-hole.
I'm glad they stole it from that ignorant loser
The video "Foolish", by Ashanti was copied/based on this movie. Great reaction. Glad to see your channel growing.
Thank you!!
This movie is a classic love the video marie stay motivated Dream big 1 mill on the way
One of my favorite movies growing up😃
RIP to ray lotta, Henry. He was also great in, Field of Dreams, a movie as a cop where he is crazy with Kurt Russell, then Copland, and a great comedy with Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sigourney Weaver!!😅😊
A Bronx Tale is very under rated!
Loveeee that movie❤️
@@journeymariereacts ❤❤👍
I'm glad this popped up in my feed! I was like...five when this movie came out...came in and out of it while my parents were watching it and got into it lol. Grew up with it being an all time fave....Okay, so I wasn't 5, watching it every day....that came a bit later, but still, always had love for it. It was fun seeing your first time reaction and I'm glad you seemed to like it! You should absolutely watch Casino!
Glad you enjoyed! I’ll definitely be doing casino soon👌🏻
There was also a funny comedy about Henry Hill. Starring Steve Martin and Rick Morranis called either My Blue Heaven or Pennies from Heaven!
7:47 he was considered to play The Joker/Jack Napier in Tim Burton’s Batman(1989) but turned it down
13:00 Catherine Scorsese, Martin Scorsese’s mother
Enjoyed your reaction and glad you enjoyed it. Subscribed 😊
Thanks for subbing!
I enjoyed watching your reaction to this movie. This is a very good movie! One of my favorites.
You have to do "Casino" you will love that one aswell.
I think you'll love the movie A Bronx Tale (1993). Its another classic Italian mafia movie, but its a coming of age story. It also has an interracial relationship featuring Taral Hicks (the girl from the movie Belly starring Nas and DMX)
I absolutely loveee that movie, I’ve seen it many times lol
she was a pretty girl and baddie in both movies
Good reaction...I will say though your eye roles are very telling😃
15:08 "what's wrong with him?"
14:23 "they're psychopaths."
Robert Dinero directed A Bronx tale.
that makes a lot of sense
Really enjoy your reactions to these classics
Thank you!!
Remember hearing this on the Chronic Album and yes this song is talking about some real stuff that's been going on from day one in inner cities and small communities across the nation.
Nice one, JM. You're right, neither one of them was a prize! 🤣
Great reaction to a great film! You have a new subscriber today 👍🏿
Awesome thank you!
Glad you liked it, definitely one of my favorites, i know all the words🤣. Watch Godfather 2 and Casino, Deniro is in both. When you watch comedy i have plenty of suggestions.
Added!
Not mob or crime movies and certainly not comedies, but two films I would recommend are "Saving Private Ryan" and "Schindler's List". Both were directed by Spielberg and while tough subjects, both are considered classics and important films that are well worth watching.
Pack lots of tissue. Schindler's List is def in the top 10 of all time.
If there are any Animaniacs fans here, the character inspirations for the Goodpidgens are based on Tommy, Jimmy and Henry while the Godpidgen is based on Don Corleone.
Another Great Reaction Journey !!! You are on a Roll
Thank you!!
Great reaction to a classic movie and I am definitely going to subscribe to your channel 💯☯️ It’s always cool to see people reacting for the first time to a famous movie
Awesome thank you!
When you get a chance watch & react to the first 2 Terminator movies but Please 🙏 when you watch Terminator 2 Don’t watch the extended directors cut just watch the theatrical original version 👍 it’s much better and for some reason every reaction on RUclips for Terminator 2 are all The extended directors cut Lol you would probably get more views just on it being one of the only theatrical original reactions 😂💯
@@journeymariereacts When Henry starts walking around in the courtroom he's talking to us the audience, directly. It's what's known in show business as breaking the 4th wall.
Thanks for the very entertaining commentary. You're terrific.
Thank you!🙏🏼😊
Favorite Gangster movie!!!! Most violent, action packed & you did a great job.... Love how you roll yer eyes when something doesn't sit well!!!! HA....
Lol thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed🙏🏼
See "Donnie Brasco" -- one of Pacino's best. And with the amazing Johnny Depp. And see Johnny Depp as "Whitey" Bulger in "Black Mass".
The lady who played Tommy's mother is actually Scorsese's mother. She did the Cameo in Casino as Artie's mom too
Awesome reaction to a classic movie.👍 I would suggest you "Heat" (1995), another masterpiece movie with Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.
Another Classic 💯 I'm late but you are on 📍
5:27 "he had me!" 😆
Really liked your reaction. 👌🏻👍🏻
I'll definitely stopping by again.
Awesome thank you!
"The dude from Home Alone." Yooooooo!!! That's craaaaayzy!!! I get it though. If you havent ever seen this, or Casino, then he's definitely the dude from Home Alone. I've never in my life thought of it like that. Thanks for taking me back to the 90's for a second, though.
Lol yeaa that’s the only thing I’d seen him in before🤣😬glad you enjoyed though🙏🏼
@@journeymariereacts For sure. You got a like and a sub.
great reaction :) should react to" casino "its like part 2 to goodfellas with deniro and pesci starring another mob true story movie
You became my new favorite reviewer. You see certain things the same way I do. You're good peoples
BTW the most expensive tree is still a minor purchase
Thank you, I appreciate that😁
Biggest mistake was wacking Billy Batts…….. gangster code, never EVER mess with a “made man”
Great reaction 💯
Just found your channel and subscribed...I see you just started doing movies, looking forward to more. Liked your edit and your reactions! Off to check out Godfather next. Joe Pesci's Tommy is such a memorable character, but if you haven't already seen it, you should check him out in a really great comedy called My Cousin Vinny.
Thanks for the sub!
16:12 "you shouldn't of said that spider. you shouldn't of said that spider."
17:32 "don't call her crazy." 😆
smart
R.I.P., Ray Leotta.
Gangsters are awesome. I idolize Lucky Luciano, Al Capone, Carlo Gambino, John gotti, Benjamin bugsy Siegel, Also, Albert Anastasia, head of murder incorporated. These guys were awesome.
25:38 don't know if you knew this but the woman who plays tommy's mother is Martin Scorcese's mom and the one who kills him is Scorcese's father
Legit reaction 🔥
10:05 "don't shoot!"
it's a little funny 😆
Wow you going hard in the paint cranking out these reactions.
I try🤷🏼♀️😁
@@journeymariereacts You gotta react to the lord of the rings trilogy and the dark know trilogy.
@@journeymariereacts btw, you're so adorable. Too bad I'm too old (34) for or else I'd ask you on a date lol!
6:07 I LOVE that comment/reaction.
7:47 he was actually considered to play the Joker/Jack Napier in Tim Burton’s Batman but turned it down
Dr Melfi before she treated Tony's panic attacks.
Love this movie, now you have to do Casino 🎰🙌
Classic mob movie! Aside from all the great actors I love the music. So good
The ..How am I funny.. scene, was not in the script, only Henry knew a bit, and the director. That's why that scene feels so tense! The white hair lady is Scorceses Mom! He puts her in all his movies. He never gives her a script or practices lines. He just tells her what the scene is about, then rolls camera!
Hello from Turkey. Nice reaction video. I liked your comments and you are pretty.
Thank you! 😃
Great react
Movie suggestions:
Starship Troopers 1997
Con Air 1997
Lord of War 2005
Kick Ass 2010
Nightcrawler 2014
I don’t have a problem with his dad. My dad would have beat my ass if I skipped school for a month. And I would have loved him for it eventually 😂 It’s a father’s job to keep us on the right path. This movie shows what happens if we don’t
Good point!!
Agree 100 percent. I caught a few butt whippings for skipping school, Sometimes a timeout in the corner just won't do it.
Growing up in NY: I'm in construction or I'm in waste management = mob lol
Pretty sure you’ve heard of it, we need reaction on “BLOOD IN BLOOD OUT”
I haven’t but I’ll add it to the list👌🏻
Marie, I enjoy your reviews. 😉
Glad you like them!
5:14 "your voice is funny. your hair."
"Can you even cheat on a side chick? I don't know."
4:12 tommy is a funny guy
13:00 that lady is Catherine Scorsese, Martin Scorsese’s mother
Make sure you watch “Casino”with DeNiro and Pesci!
It’s a wild crazy ride!
11:45 😮
alright alright alright 😆
Jimmy killed most of the people involved with the Lufthansa robbery because the amount was so much more than anyone thought it would be. He immediately become paranoid when it became such a high profile heist. He figured it'd be safer to kill anybody who knew anything.
@Brad1980 And the cops weren't going to let the biggest heist in American history slide. Someone would eventually get caught and talk.
@9:10 he at least 30 .. reminds me of the movie Bad Boyz 2 where will smith told Reggie shit you at least 30 😂
🤣🤣👌🏻
First time watching one of your reactions. You did a good job. Maybe see ya around in here again sometime . . .
I hope so!
Watching your reaction abd funny enough the part eith Henry being all paranoid about the helicopter? Yeah the FBI later came out and admitted that they were actually monitoring him with helicopters at one point
13:12 you have a *great* laugh 😆
Thank you!!
Great review and reaction! Have you done Casino yet? I recently watched it on a flight to San Francisco.
That’s coming soon! & thanks🙏🏼
@@journeymariereacts Oh, thank you, and you're welcome 😊!
Hey you probably don't remember me by my name alone but we went to the same high school (Miller Grove). I don't think we ever had any classes together though. Either way, hi! Glad to see that you're okay and doing well 💕💙. I also hope that the same goes for your brother and the rest of your family 😊!
Wow thank you so much!! I hope everything with you is good as well🙏🏼thanks for watching😁
You should watch Eric Bana's first film Chopper, a true crime story set in Australia and one of the best movies I've ever seen about Australia's most notorious, and charismatic criminal.
Chris Moltisanti shot that kid in the foot at the bakery in The Sopranos, as an homage to the actors role here where Tommy shoots him in the foot….
One thing about these characters in this movie they're hard-headed and don't listen. If they had listened and taken heed, some wouldn't have
been murdered or sent to prison. You noticed, too. 💯 🤔
Casino is another good one. Also based on a true story
💯💯💯💯💯💯 I hope you watch casino next💯💯💯💯💯💯
I can’t BELEIVE you edited out one of the most famous scenes in cinematographic HISTORY:
The firt date while they walked through the employee back entrance of the dinner club. Taken by one camera in one shot. GENIUS FILM MAKING…….
I loved that part but it was very long and I didn’t have much of a reaction😬
25:57 you might like the Irishman…there’s a very similar scene with De Niro and Pacino (just keep in mind that at least some of it is fiction lol)
33:33 -- that was the actual agent who dealt with Henry and his wife for their relocation. Not an actor.
Can you even cheat on a side chick is crazy. lol
That whole revelation was hilarious but also great question...I mean I guess you can, right. Easy way to get caught up doe.
Lol yea that whole thing was crazy🤣😬
a multiple cheater
I once got a free dinner from the real Henry Hill when he opened up a restaurant later in life. Not long after that it closed down when there was a fire there. Hmm.
Oh wow…
RIP Ray Liotta
If u like deniro u should watch “this boys life”. It’s quite the film. Also stars young Leonardo DiCaprio
