Tommy was actually even more insane in real life, they all felt like walking on eggshells around him because they knew any little thing could set him off
Fact: His first kill was when he was 18. He and Hill were walking down the street one night, and they say a guy coming toward them, a guy neither of them knew, a total stranger, and Tommy shot him dead for no reason.
They had so much pull in Hollywood that in movies as late as the '70s they would use euphemisms like "the organization" or "the mob" instead of calling it the mafia.
During WW 2 the Mafia had made a deal with the US government to protect the docks from foreign infiltration and act as strike breakers. Something many don't know is that during WW 2 there were more strikes in the US than at any other point in our nations history. The government really wasn't interested in dealing with this in and around the docks. So they used the Mafia to illegally put a stop to it. As payment for that and other 'favors' to the CIA, the Mafia got to operate without any concerted gov. interference. Kennedy made deals with the Mafia and then betrayed them. His brother RFK was the first to really go after the Mafia in the early 60s.
Tommy's mom in this film was played by Martin Scorsese's actual mother and she had libbed all her lines because she was already so close to the actors in the dinner scene it was natural for her to interact with them like that because they'd all been her son's friends for so long, except Ray Liotta, hence the line about him being the quiet one.
The scene where Paulie tells Henry not to mess with drugs, & slaps him-the slap wasnt in the script-Paul Sorvino, the actor who played Paulie, just thought Henry wasnt paying attention enough, lol, so he slapped him. The look of suprise on Henry's face is real :)
Spider's actor had cut his hand, so they took him to the hospital still in the bloody costume. He kept trying to tell the doctors it was just his hand even though he was covered in blood, but they thought he was delirious. They shoved him into a bed and dragged him to the ICU. When they finally realized what he was saying and that's he's an actor, they were furious. lol
I can't believe this; I JUST discovered your channel yesterday, just watched you do "The Godfather"......now one day you do "Goodfellas"??? Am I in Italian mob movie heaven?? 🤣 FANTASTIC reaction! Pam Grier, Samuel Jackson, Robert De Niro, Michael Keaton, Chris Tucker, Bridget Fonda...blah blah blah.....1997. GREAT movie! Also "Death Proof". Both of those are Tarantino movies with kick-ass female main characters.....you'd KILL on both of those videos. (You'd also kill on the horror movies "Rosemary's Baby" and "Carrie"!)

You said something in the vid that nobody caught. " Jimmy might be crazier than Tommy " Yes he was. In fact, he groomed Tommy into a killer, which spiraled out of control once he got older. Tommy was already unhinged from the get go, but Jimmy watered that seed. Good catch
Glad you liked it, definitely one of my favorites, i know all the words🤣. Watch Godfather 2 and Casino, Deniro is in both. When you watch comedy i have plenty of suggestions.
Really cool trivia bits of the movie: rumor has it that Henry’s wife may have actually had an affair with one of the mobsters, and the fbi agent who negotiated with Henry and Karen-yeah that’s the ACTUAL FBI negotiator who talked to Henry. The real life Henry hill ended up making a cookbook after he got kicked out out the witness protection program.
Favorite Gangster movie!!!! Most violent, action packed & you did a great job.... Love how you roll yer eyes when something doesn't sit well!!!! HA....

Henry's dad was not an a- hole. He was a hard working family man trying to raise his children. The guy who said, "Two n/%@ers just stole my truck" was an a-hole.
"The dude from Home Alone." Yooooooo!!! That's craaaaayzy!!! I get it though. If you havent ever seen this, or Casino, then he's definitely the dude from Home Alone. I've never in my life thought of it like that. Thanks for taking me back to the 90's for a second, though.

@@journeymariereacts When Henry starts walking around in the courtroom he's talking to us the audience, directly. It's what's known in show business as breaking the 4th wall.
One thing about these characters in this movie they're hard-headed and don't listen. If they had listened and taken heed, some wouldn't have been murdered or sent to prison. You noticed, too. 💯 🤔
I think you'll love the movie A Bronx Tale (1993). Its another classic Italian mafia movie, but its a coming of age story. It also has an interracial relationship featuring Taral Hicks (the girl from the movie Belly starring Nas and DMX)
If there are any Animaniacs fans here, the character inspirations for the Goodpidgens are based on Tommy, Jimmy and Henry while the Godpidgen is based on Don Corleone.
Gangsters are awesome. I idolize Lucky Luciano, Al Capone, Carlo Gambino, John gotti, Benjamin bugsy Siegel, Also, Albert Anastasia, head of murder incorporated. These guys were awesome.
The ..How am I funny.. scene, was not in the script, only Henry knew a bit, and the director. That's why that scene feels so tense! The white hair lady is Scorceses Mom! Not mob or crime movies and certainly not comedies, but two films I would recommend are "Saving Private Ryan" and "Schindler's List". Both were directed by Spielberg and while tough subjects, both are considered classics and important films that are well worth watching.
