Love all your builds......I have just purchased my first 3D printer partly becasue of your videos......cant wait to get stuck into a spare grasshopper and hornet chassis I have lying about. Thankyou, brilliant!!
Thank you! Really appreciate your comments. By the way, I am planning to upload a all in one kit for this rear trailing arm conversion, where most of the design issues are resolved. Please wait few days if possible
Hi there, a great upgrade and design improvement for the hopper series. Amazing design details, super work my friend. Best wishes to you and the family 😊
That spectacular ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT. YOU ARE A GENIUS.very very good. I hope you keep the copyrights and don't sell this to some company. All the design details work was your work and you should make sure to put your name on this so nobody can say it was their invention.excellent and so much better than the stock Tamiya kit.👍👌🥰
My problem with the MK2 was that the bevel gear would strip as the printed parts cannot support the torque of even a silver can 540, I've also tried the MK1 but the bearing holes in the gearbox had too much play and would destroy the gears inside, I will try MK3 and test, thank you for designing these, hopefully the MK3 and Frog drive-shafts works better.
Thank you fro the feedback. YES that bevel gear was the headapleasand probably suitable only for 380 motor. I strongly recommend printing the gears in metal. Metal 3d printing option is available in most of the printing platforms
Hi, finally I purchased a Grasshopper 2 kit and a 3D printer! I haven’t set up my printer yet, but once that’s done, I’ll download your file and print it out!! Can’t wait!
thank you for the update! I am working on the newer version of the 3d files, hoping to release it by this weekend so please make sure you use the updated files! good luck on your 3d printer journey I am pretty sure you will love it!
@@HumbleVintageRC the 540 motor can clearly move over 10mm inboard with just a change in mounting. Most brushless 28mm diameter motors are more powerful than the 540, and shorter. Plus, the smaller diameter means they can be moved down. The goal is to get the motor inside the body without the huge 540 sticking out the side!
@@bs0u0155 that is exactly why I moved the motor in also. frog , wildone and many other lower end tamiya buggies tend to put motor way too outside, the balance of car hurts and sometimes as the vehicle gets older, motor drops down a little bit due to the gravity^^
Hi! thank you buddy! I havent tried it but I kmow that grahoo have put better gears from tamiya trf options or maybe other touring car gears. My intention was to create a conversion kit that requires minimum cost so I really didnt considered it, but I am sure you can find grahoo’s work with some searches!
@@TimeAttackRCno I havent really😮 one of the main target that I had during the conversion was to reuse stock parts as much as possible so I really didnt think about it^^; yes that would be a good idea but may require some time for me 😅
Hi thank you for your interest! I dont plan to sell those parts since I still think its experimental, 3d printed parts are good for normal run but may not endure hard runs as many fun users do.

Excellent work. Thank you!

Excellent work. Thank you for sharing all your valuable research time with this design and 3rd revision files. Looks great.
thank you so much for your recognition on my work!!!
This is very cool. And I never noticed that the box art was a trailing arm setup til now
thank you! yes the gh1 boxart is the only one that reveals its real identity^^ while all other hopper series box art dont^^
Thanks for sharing your amazing work!
thank you!
자세한 설명까지!!! 좋은 정보 알려주셔서 감사합니다.
고맙습니다!!!
Excellent. Brilliant work. 👍🏻
thank you always for dropping by!!!
Looks like a cross between a falcon and a grasshopper
thank you I always wanted a falcon but wasnt fortunate enough to get one^^
Great stuff! I'm in the process of redesigning the Frog gearbox to get the motor further inboard with a reversed pinion.
thank you for visiting my channel! I also had that frog gearbox idea! do share us your progress on the project!

Amazing work and a great video to watch! A lot of thought went into the engineering of your trailing arm mod. Congrats on making it work.👏👏👏👍
thank you so much for the comment! yes a lot of thoughts and trial and errors^^ guess thats the fun in this hopper series^^
This is amazing work! Very well made conversion. I've been following your 3D designs for years.
wow thank you! hope it helped in making your rc hobby any more fun!!!😅😅😅
I want one for my grasshopper 2
thank you! design of the printable files are not 100% yet they need some more improvements. I will get back with more updated files soon!
Nicely done!
many thanks!!!
Nice job, i will try this new version !
thank you! let me know if you have any issues with the prints!
Awesome design and great instructions, buddy!! Do you think you can fit some ball diff or “enclosed” gear diff from other cars?
