    I still have the original Grasshopper from the 80s to this day. Everything works. Nice!!

    I love the bell-crank mod for the steering, and how many factory/regular production parts are used in this build... it's very cost effective! Would love to see the same for the "big sister" of the Grasshopper/Hornet chassis: The CW-01. (Lunchbox/Midnight Pumpkin/Pajero....) So let me know if you conceive of such upgrades... because there's a group of us out there that'd love to make such great handling improvements to our little "wheelie-prone" mini-monsters.😊

      Thank you for another excellent comment! Surprisingly, I didn't have chance to own a CW-01 chassis yet....I will absolutely get one someday, hopefully within this year and see what I can do!

    I am suprised that you are using PLA, have you had the chance to experience with PETG or ABS filament? Thank you for your videos!

    • @HumbleVintageRC
      @HumbleVintageRC  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for the comment. I tried ABS when I first entered 3D printing hobby. ABS was very difficult to print and output was some what too soft? PETG also I tried. Output was acceptable but still it was diffcult to print properly. I realized the PLA became better as years pass by, and I now use PLA+ from eSun brand, which is more flexible and durable than standard PLA, which I am pretty satisfiled with it.

    Would it really be wrong to put bearings at BOTH ends of those trailing arms, or are ones that'll fit at the mounting/locating end just that hard to source? I ask because I recall in discussion of using Del-Alum bushing in automotive suspension pieces, one of the aspects had in their application was how their "slipperiness" and inherent lack of torsional resistance caused the rate of whatever suspending springs were employed to become more apparent, thereby affecting a suspension's tuning & effective ride height. 🤓

      @HumbleVintageRC  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hi! thank you for the comment! I am afraid I don't fully understand your technical knowledge^^; Reason I use plastic bearing in the chassis-arm connection is only that part do not require too much rotation, rather moves in just limited angles, so metal bearing wasn't really required, that's what I thought. And I also had too much left over plastic bearings^^

    Man, Korean sounds like Japanese sometimes. Just a few of the words. This a really good design and I like the result.
    Did you do a vid on the front steering set up? I wouldn't mind seeing how you did that. Also, did you get any bump steer in your design?

    • @HumbleVintageRC
      @HumbleVintageRC  6 месяцев назад +1

      Many thanks! yes Japanese and Korean pronounces very similar^^ Please check link below I did the vid on the steering. I am not sure bump steer was big issue in hoppers, however my converted ones do not have bump steer issue that much I think

      @@HumbleVintageRC Yeah the reason I ask is that a while back I designed pieces to mount TRF201 parts (gearbox, suspension front and back) to a Hornet tub chassis. The biggest problem was bump steer up front that I just couldn't get rid of. That and how to mount shocks up front.
