I'm 82kg and had sold my G 1000 after switching to the 900, I just didn't like how slow it was in roll (although I only used it with a PS 400). After riding the 900 for awhile, I switched to the PS 360 and was happy with that combo. Once I was able to get the 999, haven't gone back. It's a little slower in roll, but more pitch sensitive, faster, and pops up earlier. I damaged my PS 360 and went back to the 400, adding a -1deg shim. That works pretty well, but I may try chopping the winglets off next. I've also just changed from a 90L WC V2 to a slightly longer and narrower 80L board. I don't think the very short and wide boards are the way forward, and am looking forward to Slingshot's next offerings, hopefully they'll show them at AWSI here in a couple of weeks. Keep up these reviews, and thanks!
There are so many foil combos and it’s great you are dialing it in for your style. There will be some much different slingshot boards at the AWSI that I think you’ll like. 👍
Very nice review. I am a beginner wingfoiler 200 lbs using 140 lt. board with 92 cm mast PFI928. Now consistently foiling at the stage of learning jibe. I watched your other nice review on 899 vs G900. Would you recommend PTM999, G900 or E1090 for this transition?
@@saal2636 the PTM999 is very user friendly for a high aspect foil, it carries great speed out of turns. The G900 is also an easy going foil but you may outgrow it quickly, so maybe go for the PTM999
Hi, I'm 100kg and foiled a few sessions. I can go upwind, ride foil all the time and am starting to gibe now. I bought a Wing Craft 120liter and a 5M2 V3, now i only need a foil (and love the Slingshot lineup). The recomendation from SLINGSHOT site is the G 800 and G900 (considering i'm above 80kg). I was thinking about the G1000 or G1007 (becouse i'm alot above 80kg). I love to Wing with 10kn-16kn on the lake, but like the waveriding i see in Video's too (and we live next to the sea), so that would be the future. I'm a fast learner (always did watersports and skateboarding). Problem is, money is tight and want to buy something, and not regret it afterwards. Can you recoment something???
@@jurtuijn for your weight I recommend the g1007. It will help you to get up on the foil easily and because it’s medium aspect it will help you learning gybes and tacks as it has good stall speed.
Hi dean, My quiver is almost the same as yours: A 90 ltr Slingshot V2, 82 cm mast, 360 v-tail stab, and the PTM899, G900 and G1000 . I'm 80 kg. I'm thinking of swap my G900 and G1000 for the PTM 999. But i'm not sure what to gain. The reason the do this is to narrow down my Quiver a little bit. What would you advise me, or do you need more information? PS: I just put on my first video on RUclips: ruclips.net/video/hfkgurEn1mQ/видео.html
Hello friend, yes, I would sell the G1000 and G900 and get the PTM999 because the 999 will glide better and much faster upwind. You may have to pump a tiny bit harder to get going but the rewards are totally worth it
This was a very good review of the wing as a bonus. It looked nice and tight and well balanced.
Great, thanks for the feedback. I will do a review of the NXT wing next…stay tuned 👍
I'm glad you're back, awesome review.
@@Xtremecaves13 much appreciated. Thank you 👍
