always nice working with you, my dear!
And with you!
Is that Mrs. Spencer? She is very capable. Beat some of the ground crew I have had.
Yeah, she's great to work with (when she's not working her own job) ... nice to help out with the trees when she can!
Good job.
Enjoyed the video. Great team working together. NICE!
Hard working couple. God bless yall I hope I can move like that in my 50s.. thank for the video. Stay safe climb on brother..
turning 53 in a few months ... always great to be out there!
Only as old as you feel...
Glad you were getting some help with the cleanup from the ground crew.
You and me both! :)
Nice work! BIG clean-up is the first thing I thought of when she was showing you the job! Nice to see the loader in action!
Huge work of the ground crew! Nice to see Melissa 👍
You said it! she's amazing
Poor ash trees! However, it warms my cold, cold heart to see those Trees of Heaven, buckthorn, and the burning bushes go to tree hell where they belong.
Excerpt from Mr Knittle's Native Flora and Fauna Field Guide:
"Always fighting the good fight, Tree Guy (Odorous arboriest x spencerii "Property of Melissa" ) is a Melissa-cultivated nativar. It is considered to be native, non-aggressive. and easily controlled if kept in its own shipping container. It is also a very beneficial detritivore, only breaking down and removing dead or invasive plant material."
I'm liking that field guide and wondering about illustrations? field mark systems? if range maps are included? :) I'm going to make a confession to you: I kinda like the burning bush!
@@metaspencer 😂 It's a real mickey mouse publication with stick drawings and maps off of tourist menus.
There is a very close native cousin to the burning bush: the Eastern wahoo (Euonymus atropurpureus). The way to tell the difference is that the invasive one has wings or ridges on the branches, making them look almost squarish. The Eastern wahoo doesn't have these. I just ordered four bare roots from Prairie Moon to plant in the fall.
@@mrknittle532 Oh yeah, I know those ridges/wings well .... thanks for the ID tip
When Spence is making you a cup of tea Melissa, does he conclude it by saying, "This is not a howto cup of tea, rather the story of how I made it?" Love you guys. Thanks
This has in fact happened :)
Thank you
Nice older home , like the area , from what I see 👀 love the doddle bug machine , keep it going, slow in my area, lots of people working extremely cheap .
Go Melissa!
It was nice to see Melissa show up for work. I don't know what's going on but you might want to start keeping track of her attendance.
Well, she does have a full time job ... so any help is always appreciated :)
Hope you are treating the ground crew well
Yall always do a great job and your videos are always great to watch. Stay safe
Thanks for that! Always some good times to be had out there
Hey, that bulldoze the tree idea is my dodgy method ;-)
Mine occasionally fall back on the tractor though 😐
Think those ash trees are like our dead wattles. Easy to cut down but explode on impact and take hours to clean up 😞
Nicely done ground crew 💪
Dead wattles! Hadn't heard of those ... hey, if the method works I'll overuse it :)
❤️👍👍👍
Lol. That was a nice job. I like how u used the mini skid push em. SwFlorida was 110 degrees today. Looked sticky there. yall stay cool 😎 stay safe. Climb on brother.
110! sounds toasty ... but I'd still like to climb a palm tree someday
Lol your ever on the west coast fl give me a ring. You got my # bud. Nick name is Jimmy palms lol customer gave it to me.
Good Job bro :)
Glad to see y’all again. What a great job & a descent haul on firewood.
Keep the videos coming. Stay safe
Big thanks!
I had to search out "felling bar," as I wasn't familiar with that tool. I haven't seen you use it before in your videos, but it looked pretty helpful in levering those smaller trees. Do you get a lot of use out of it? Nice use of the skid steer too!
It's a useful tool on smaller trees -- just a time saver, not really necessary in most scenarios. Leverage is a good thing :)
free firewood!!! great stash for the new shed man... nice one
yep we started splitting it today ... nice hardwood
Such a shame about ash trees. On both sides of the Atlantic. Hope we find strains that are resistant and they can make a come back. In the meantime, that's a tasty pile o firewood. 😃 Good job, Odorous Arboriest & crew 😂 👍
Yeah it's been quite a die off ... crazy to see so many dead trees around
Nice job and yes ash trees got to be the worst to clean up 👌
you said it: they all make such a mess
holy floor boards batman
How come you don’t use a wood chipper to shred all the smaller stuff down on-site? Love the vids and appreciate the effort that you are going to - keep doing what you’re doing!
I decided a while back not to run a chipper because I like my equipment loadout (truck+trailer) ... I find chippers slow, dangerous, and expensive to maintain. It's just my approach. No shade on the guys who run chippers. It's just not my thing
"Odorous Arboriest"....🤣🤣🤣
The doddle bug machine! I like that :)
Ahhhhhhhhhhh the yellow submarine is back😂😊..Thank God You have a good ground crew..my friend all I have been doing is Ash trees as well.... stupid beetle..
Always good hearing from ya ... yeah, ash jobs every day around here
You're not going to show us the behind the scenes of all the help you had?!
No way you did that all by yourself! 😂🤣
Btw, how was your experience with Infront?
The Infront mini-skid is definitely not as good as the bigger, more expensive machines ... but it's amazing how much work it'll do! great for what it is and a huge time saver
Nice job Spencer. My brother just had to have a couple of Ash taken out over in Fairport. Are the dying because of the Ash borer or something else?
Yeah it's the ash borer -- and then the ants move in and it's game over. Quite a blight
looks like a nice fun one! huge mess by lunch and cleanup while its nice and hot out
wheres the mini skid? or have I not watched far enough yet?
Yeah we brought the mini over -- huge time saver!
@metaspencer I'm still trying to buy that giant g1200, see if you can run one for a bit or pay a local tree guy to bring his out for a day, the difference between that and a skid is awesome when it comes to saving time
@@WoodCutr1 sounds like a plan!
Lol she seems like an interesting customer.
hahaha ... you said it!
ever thought of getting a stump grinder in ut tool kit??
I've ground a few stumps in my day, but it's just not my thing. I find my mind starts to wander ... worse than reading a book :) But no doubt about it: it's a great idea for a tree service to offer stump grinding as part of the service
How has that little Chinese Skid-Steer been ?
The dang thing shows up to work every day and lifts like a champ. Great tool on the job
@@metaspencer I was wondering how that little skid steer was working for you because I know you said it was really cheap and you bought it a while ago so I had to ask how you liked it
Emerald ash bore?
yep, followed by ants and woodpeckers
Bush definitely got burnt
haha you said it. toasted
enjoy it while it lasts cos the next one will be the real deal and u be replacing ur chainsaw for a firearm.
