      @@AzureAcademy Trying to deploy on our Azure session hosts we run through Nerdio. When we install using the bootstrapper on the golden image, Teams usually won't open for users on the session host. We've created Microsoft support tickets and no luck so far. Any ideas?

      Calls keen dropping randomly in Citrix on windows 11 multi session when using the slimcore and latest slimcore/teams client available to general public. Not an issue with webrtc. Slimcore on the endpoint crashes. I had high hopes for it working flawlessly but right not it’s so unstable. Some calls will happily last 30 mins without issue and then others 5 mins and disconnect

    Hi Dean,
    Great video as ever. As an IT manager for a MSP I have to say I'm not impressed with the new teams within VDI.
    We have encounter numerous issues upgrading to new teams on server 2019 citrix vdas even with the latest fslogix update.
    We have seen issues with the outlook addin missing and having to run powershell scripts on the vdi ms page to get it to appear for all users.
    We have so seen issues with it not showing for users at all in their start menu and being unable to search for it. We have had to rename the fslogix profile. Old and give them new profiles for it to appear.
    Very clunky it seems at the moment...the installer needs a lot more work to make this a seamless transition.

    I am trying to publish New Teams as a RemoteApp and have been using Nerdio's workaround, which partially works. However, I have encountered an issue where the video camera will not work when using RemoteApp, even though Teams shows "AVD SlimCore Media Optimized". Is there a Microsoft supported way of publishing New Teams as a RemoteApp? I've had a ticket open for several weeks and Microsoft support seems to be lost on this one. Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Are there any troubleshooting steps when SlimCore doesn't install automatically? We are stuck on it only showing the legacy AVD Optimization. Logging in and out does not work, and neither does quitting Teams/restarting the VM.

    • @AzureAcademy
      @AzureAcademy  20 дней назад +2

      Like I mentioned in the video make sure you have setup the teams policy and that you are not blocking the CDN. If those are ok the I suggest opening a ticket with teams support

    Great video sir as usual. Quick question: Do I still need to add teams details in fslogix redirection xml file? Thank you

    • @AzureAcademy
      @AzureAcademy  Месяц назад +1

      You do not have to. Classic teams cache would take up 5GB per user. New teams cache is about 300-500mb. So no real need to redirect it

    Does end-user need to have local admin rights on session host for slim core package to be installed automatically ?

    • @AzureAcademy

      no local admin rights needed...far as I know. The permissions are pushed from the Teams Admin Center

    I have also not seen any guidance on using new Teams under AVD Remote Apps. The old teams used to show up as a Menu item, but the new teams does not.

    • @AzureAcademy
      @AzureAcademy  Месяц назад +2

      The new teams is not a normal app it is a windows UWP app…they don’t get start menu icons all the time. Easy thing to do is open new teams on 1 VM then see the path to the icon, then create a remote app from a file path and tell it which icon to use with a file path

      @@AzureAcademy I did, it specifically said to choose the .exe path. You had mentioned opening up one of the host VMs, running teams, and locating the icon path. Where is THAT process described, or more specically any guidance on publishing new Teams specifically.

    • @AzureAcademy

    I guess im not understanding how the upgrade install works on VDI. Once you set the policy the version just changes? is it already installed in newer versions of classic and its just a flip? Our AVD environments have classic installed, machine wide iirc
    Also any features that arent in New Teams on VDI but on Classic? I recall a list of features not in New Teams but now the article just has a list of features not in either versions (in VDI)

    • @AzureAcademy
      @AzureAcademy  Месяц назад +1

      You can’t upgrade without the policy.
      The policy will tell classic teams client to upgrade/download the UWP new teams client in background
      The next time they log in the new teams will take over.
      Now…i haven’t seen features from classic that don’t work in new…tell me what you find
