The realities of ultra trail running 🤣🤣... completely accidental and I only noticed it after editing but decided to leave it, as it's actually quite funny... thank you, glad you liked it!
Hi Michael, thank you! Glad you like it! We had some really good conditions on the day, a bit too hot in fact. The wee drizzle towards the end was nice! Last year was unbearably hot, so I'm not complaining! Well done on completing it, it really is a tough course!
Thank you and (I assume you ran as well) well done too! It was a tough day indeed, this one always stings. The climbs and terrain are definitely very challenging but the scenery and all the amazing marshals keep you going, don't they! Thanks again!
Well done, Matt 👍🏻 I can relate to the "who's idea was this? " and "ready for the finish now" thoughts. I had the same many times during my first 50k yesterday! 👍🏻🏃♂️
Hi Mark, thank you! This one was a toughie for sure! Isn't it funny what goes through your head during a running event? 🤣🤣... But we keep going regardless! Well done on your first ultra!!!
Great video Matt, glad to see we wasn’t the only ones running around with GoPros (or whatever you used!). It was our first GB Ultras event and both really enjoyed it. Well done. Subbed 👍
Thank you, glad you liked it! I was sure I could hear other GoPro beeping several times on the course but couldn't work out who it was! 🤣... They're a great bunch and the events are fantastic, I'm sure I'll see you on another one in the future!
Hi Matt! When you go to every station, you asked for tailwind. Do you know the strentgh? I put 2 scoops on my 500 ml flask, and I will be running this race this year...so wondering if i can count of the tailwind provide by them or if i should take all from home. Any infor really appreciated. Thanks.
Hi there, truth be told I'm not sure. These are pre-mixed before the event starts. I also use tailwind on my long runs but I buy sachets, so unsure how much is in 1 scoop that you use. If it's any use, I dissolve a sachet in about 750ml of water as per instructions (I think the instructions say 500-750 but I don't like it too strong) and it tastes the same as the event one. I think 1 sachet is 54g. Hope this helps. I wouldn't worry about it anyway. Between tailwind and all the salty and sweet food options provided, you will not be short for carbs or electrolytes during the event. Good luck and enjoy. It's one of my favourite Ultras!
@2:48 straight past the "gents impromptu toilet!" I wonder if they knew they'd be on RUclips?🤣 Great video non-the less.

A great watch. Looking forward to Saturday now.
Thank you! It's a fantastic event and a very challenging but hugely rewarding course. You'll love it. Gutted I can't be there this year, actually...
Great video and lovely scenery, I haven’t been in that area since I did the Yorkshire Dales Triathlon in 1985
Thanks Rob, it's a lovely area indeed. I'm definitely doing it again next year. Love Yorkshire Dales!
Great video. Very detailed. Captures a lot of what I remember of the day. I loved the condition of the trails. Hardly any boggy bits

Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! 😊
A cracking route with great aid stations and support staff. It was a tough day out ib the hills and warmer than expected. Well done on a great time 👍
