I know what you mean bro. Just - don't do it. I've been gazing into the abyss of existence, but giving up is not a real option. Fight - we are born to win!
You need to listen harder man. This song is about facing those thoughts and feelings and accepting them so you can move away from them. How hard do you think it was for him to write this song? Don’t give up man.
I´d call it on the edge or letting go. Personally don´t remember if he still has contact with his family(father and mother), his brother is presumed missing or dead. I don´t feel that that is for me to know however, it´s his personal life and maybe it´s too personal.
@@josephsousa5552 i believe it is from his brothers point of view. Hearing the pain when he sings, i think the song is a way for him to cope with the loss and look at it and understand it from not his own perspective but from his brothers
Everything will soon turn black, so here's my letter. To get it off my chest. Promise father, don't look back, it's not for the better. I know you tried your best. [Chorus:] Everybody seems so happy like they all share something I haven't felt for years. For long I've tried to just hold on but now I don't care I'm closing down my thoughts and fears. Forgive me, life is cruel. I'm leaving you. Hear you little brother me, you know I'm sorry, for every high hand. Give my love to mother, please tell her not to worry. I hope she'll understand. So long, don't wait for me in vain. What's wrong with being free from pain? Be strong and live your lives like I never could. Farewell, let the memories be nice. To hell!? Don't think you go there twice. I'm well off right here, it's more than good. So Farewell...
If they release a Acustic cd i would buy it for sure. I love this. The other version is good to but there is more feeling to this one. I even cryed a bit :-P
Love this band.. Regret getting in on them so late.. Last few shows have been pretty far from me.. I'm going to make a show.. Hopefully, sooner than later.. They played Texas then Canada.. Im in So Cal.. Hit me when you get close..
Unbelievable perfect song!! It´s my first time to subscribe for a video but this is so awesome. Keep that music up and push further on for your limits in future times, but i think u reached it with that version already!! Saw you guys on Rock im Park`11 . Great show!
I can relate to this song big time. But as an atheist, this Jesus fella stepped in right at the moment I was going to end it. 15 years later, I'm spreading hope, there is life and there is hope, trust me on this.
maybe 8 years ago the reply functino was not here. "This is one of the most amazing acoustic versions of any song I've heard." seems a reply to that comment
I adore strung out so so much, but I do have to say that the live videos of them on here aren't nearly as polished sounding as their albums. Maybe it's the videos that are taking away from the performance? I don't really know, but I love strung out so so much, so I refuse to let those videos be the only evidence of how they perform live. I haven't seen them live and I need to, ever since suburban teenage wasteland blues I've been a diehard. What does everyone think of Greg Graffin's voice? I kinda think Nikola sounds like him a tiny bit. Also, how about Scott Radinsky from Pulley? I don't remember his name, but the guy from Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies and Swingin Utters? There's so many more, fuck man, as a musician, punk music has been in my life since 3rd grade and I am a punk for life. It's the most diverse genre in all of music in my opinion. And there's so much hidden talent and so many branches and micro genres like punk, pop punk, hardcore, Ska, reggae, on and on and on.. I love it
Ending your life is wrong. I love Millencolin and liked this song, but I don't feel the lyrics correct, that's a very sad story. Everytime this kind of subject is shared it should come with a message that this is wrong, that's probably why the song makes me uncomfortable. Ending your life only transfer your suffering and pain to the ones who love you.
If you suffer from depression, this is such a special song
I hope you‘re doing well man!
This is one of the most amazing acoustic versions of any song I've heard.
SO INCREDIBLE that youtube algorithm still recommends it out of nowhere 9 years later!
Each day this song makes more sense to me. And i'm scared with it.
I know what you mean bro. Just - don't do it. I've been gazing into the abyss of existence, but giving up is not a real option. Fight - we are born to win!
are you still alive?

I'm here guys! Thank you for your words. I'm getting better each year. Hope I can beat this thing soon.
@@vinapr Every day is a gift. Never forget that. You'll be alright. Godspeed.
Easily the most beautiful suicide song I have heard.

@@Gustafsson20 definitely suicide song
I always interpreted it as being written from his brother's perspective

@@Gustafsson20 his brother died because he was mentally impaired and got lost in the woods - not because of suicide FYI
Music can say things words can't. What an awesome piece of art!
Millencolin is just the most underrated thing ever.

I wish Nikola could capture this kind of feeling and sound on his solo records. They're great already but THIS IS FUCKING EXCELLENT!

niceeee
fäääääääääääät!!!!
always puts some tears in my eyes. the world is some fucked up place.
This ending is much better than the one on Machine 15... In my opinion

Then you should check out nikolas solo albums. They're right up your alley if ou like acoustic folk like music.
What tuning is he in?
A whole step down?
Half step down without the capo?
I think drop d plus capo on 1
Its from Kingwood
fuck this is good !
Nice studio.. xD
Can anyone tell the chords , and tunning of the guitar ??
Guess you never heard Greg Graffin...
who? Nikola? I'm sure they even know each other in person

agreed it's the best of new age punk
old school punk is sex pistols or the clash
i dont think so...
S - Streetlight Manifesto
N - NOFX
wot
This version of the song seems more painful.
At 38 years old a lot of their songs (even the earlier ones) I can relate to more so now that I did ask a young angsty teenager.
old punkers die hard
If you know someone who might be struggling, please reach out :o(
For most people who are struggling, they have no one to reach out to, this world, everybody, so consumed with themselves?

Jason is a big turn-off for me live. I love Strung Out and Jasons lyrics, melodies and intention but he is a really poor singer on stage.
I get it. Been to Strung Out shows. He can hit notes sometimes. I think he is distracted at shows. I talked to him. He seemed anxious.
