- Someone had mentioned this a while back so I thought I'd give it a shot. No, I don't sound like Brad Delp, aight? I pitch-shifted the hell out of it! I cranked up auto-tune so far it BROKE. The song structure even changed behind my back! But it is what it is! Hope everyone is doing all right, okey dokey, or maybe you're just having the time of your life!

Brad Delp is my favorite male vocalist of all time! And this song is one of my favorite! I sure miss him.. depression sucks and it got the best of him.. So people be nice and thoughtful, you never know what someone else is going through.. ❤️

Must’ve been going through but Boston made So many wonderful, one of a kind songs and Brad’s voice is magical. He gave us a gift we will have forever, as Boston will continue to be played by the generations!

On the other paw, I try to tell myself when I'm at my low points (I'm bipolar, and so go through chronic bouts of depression) that if Brad could do that, then I can at least get into my studio and practice. Such a gift he gave us!

I was 22 when it came out late in 1986, by September 27, it had reached number 1 in the Billboard Hot 100, the song was so big Boston didn't even have a video for it... it came out as their 1st single from their 3rd album Third Stage! The late 70's and throughout the 80's had, in my opinion, the best music ever!! Live long and prosperous man, blessings!!

I remember my youth, I was in a record store near my home village and heard this song for the first time. The album Third Stage was brand new and I had to have it...;-) Now, in the "vintage time" this album is to be found again and again gladly on my turntable.

Holy gob smack! I didn’t know what to expect but dude that was outstanding! Your vocal passion and emotion jumped off my mobile screen. I grew up on Boston, one of my all time favourite rock bands of the 70’s. And Brad Delp is and always will be my favourite rock vocalist. You sir are a reckoning rock force!
ty! I struggle mightily trying to sing well. I did okay on this but it's not epic. I think there are a few songs where I get my nose barely up into the epic stratosphere for a few seconds. hahaha But I think this isn't one. They are all just me struggling and trying to sound better than sucking. I think one of my best songs is Across The Universe by the Beatles. And Take It To The Limit by the Beagles. oh, the.. well, you know. Those whom we cannot name. :)

@rj zander sound more like a ping on some glass than a triangle. This backing track is one I found on YT and I added more guitar and the solos to it so if it had that in there.... it would just be in there. I guess the people doing the track thought it wasn't cool, too. :)

thanks. Nah, that Tommy guy doesn't melt my butter. For some reason, I think they could have found SEVERAL people better sounding than him. Of all youtube and other social media platforms Scholz could search, there has to be someone that sounds closer. Mike Masse does a really great job on some Boston tunes. And he doesn't have to resort to pitch shifting like me! He could do that live. It might be that Tommy was willing to do it for little pay and other people were not. who really knows?

thx for the nice words. I do my best on the singing (well, I slack a LOT on rehearsal.....) then I mix the hell out of it and tweak the vocal here and there. Some stuff is better than others. People seem to like the Scorpions one and the Alone one and Highway to Hell. But you know, they prob think wow, he sings like that all the time and they have false expectations because I did ONE SONG. It's okay. I am what I am and people can search my vids and watch what they want! see ya
