- It took me a while to find this technique of getting a perfect sleek ponytail on my naturally curly hair! This is how I do it, it might be different for you, but I decided to show you all my tips and explain my previous mistakes and what suits my particular face shape! I rock a serious widows peak (Dracula hairline) too! It is really hard to find hair styles that look good with this sort of hair line. Would love to hear/ see what you suggest for this in a video.

I do this hairstyle for a day or two and then I wash my hair. There's no coming back from this withiut washing haha

I love your hair my daughter is biracial she has curly wavy hair in it's natural state it shrinks wet and shampoo it's in the middle of her back after moisture shoulder length
we have the same hair texture!! I have a problem with my hair not growing. My hair looks healthy and I take care of it. I tried trimming it etc. My hair just doesn't go passed my armpits when curly. What am I doing wrong :(
Sandra you're not doing anything wrong by the sound of things. It's all about genetics. Some people's hair grows long. Others not so much, and I'll explain why. The hair on our heads goes through stages of active growth, then rest when it sheads and a new hair grows out of each follicle. These periods seem to overlap which is why we continuously shed hair when we wash it, comb it etc. You can shead up to 300 hairs a day and not be able to tell (i think that's an average it could be more). Some people's hair goes through longer periods of active growth.... for example ten years. Which is why there are Guinness World Record holders with hair that touches the floor. Other people's hair may have shorter stages of active growth such as 3 or 4 years. So some people will only ever have hair that is a certain length and doesn't seem to grow longer throughout their lifetime. Also, curly hair can be brittle and snap of at the ends at the same rate at which it grows even if your ends look healthy. Not everyone carries the genes that give them longer stages of hair growth.... a lot is down to heritage. I'm mixed race, the same as Lana and also have a similar hair texture but my hair doesn't seem to get any longer than bra-strap length/middle of my back, when straight (curly it looks shorter). I just don't think my hair is meant to be extremely long. I haven't inherited those genes lol. I know that sounds like a decent length but I'm 28 and it's never been any longer. I've had Asian friends who can sit on their hair. Although a tip I stick to now is not combing my hair every day. I used to wear my hair in a lot of sleek styles when I was at school and detangle every day. But now I just make it look neat with my fingers, I only detangle once a week if that. Silk sleeping caps/pillowcases help. Plus putting the hair up or in braids for bed so it doesn't get too dry or tangled. 💕 Hope that helps x

I wonder if this works this well for other kinds of textures, hmm... my hair is more coily/kinky curly. It won't lay down for anything! The closest I get is hitting with gel right after a wash!! I'll try it tho!!
I think you might need a slightly stronger gel than what I used. Eco Styler have some good ones!

If you constantly wear a sleek ponytail will it ruin the curl pattern on the top of your head???
Hmm, it shouldn't do? There's no heat involved, but your hair will get stretched out because of the water and gel, so when you take your hair down, it will look kind of straight on top, but only until you wash it again. I think yhe biggest concern would be breakage around where the haur tie is, since you need to tie your hair pretty tightly for this to work.

Part your hair to the side. In some time your hair will not part unless you do it yourself
