I played bass for Bumblefoot once and got to hang out with Billy Sheehan talking about bass for a long time and he is cool as hell. Bumblefoot is a great dude too.

Two amazing talents right there, folks!!! Billy is a monster! Met Bumblefoot, a super nice guy.
Love how bassists are all like the ultimate wingman, they hear anyone playing anything and immediately jump in to provide a line for them.
And it's one hell of a lot of fun doing it, too!!!! That's the role.
Imagine these guys just doing a podcast for hours.
Just talking, little jamming and telling stories.

Bumblefoot was just at my school doing a music business panel. Spoke to him for a few minutes, he was very nice.

I remember the days when Guns n' Roses followed Ron as his support band. Really great group of fellas giving Ron the limelight.

Billy Sheehan reminds me of Randy Coven. Both great versatile players by the way. One of the best, if not the best. Versatility makes you an even better players as evident from these players.
I think it's awesome that great guitarists always credit ACE Frehley for them picking up the guitars. Ace off Alive 1 blew our minds back in the day and it still holds solid ground even today.

Wow, crazy good / max tallent. Interesting to note, the Kiss Alive album inspired a wide range of great guitar players because of Ace's unique sound / style and a pile of great songs.
I saw Billy with The Winery Dogs a few years ago,I was standing right in front of him,front row,no one in between us, and his was Bass playing was just amazing to watch up close and in person.
that Ace Frehley solo during She was one of the most inspirational moments for me too

I met Bumblefoot once when he was playing with Scott Stapp. He is the nice humble guy in the world.
Bumblefoot is my favorite guitarist of all time and Billy Sheenan is an mastermind when it comes to bass, glad you got them on gear factor so they could play some badass riffs together, while shouting out Sons of Apollo (who came out with a fantastic album earlier this year.) great job loudwire!

Heard him play all the parts to bohemian rhapsody while singing it... On a shitty nylon string guitar... Asked him how long it took to master it... Said he winged it...
I will always be impressed with how much Kiss influenced a lot of my favorite metal musicians. I'm impressed with their influence. It's massive.

Kiss 1 had inspired me as well. I got that record along with an all in one stereo for Christmas in 1974 when i was 12. I still have and play that record today. Both musicians are badasses. Don't get better than that.

Billy is such a badass. Aside from his trademark hammering technique, he doesn't really have a style because he adapts and adds flavor to any type of song or arrangement. He has been influenced by almost everyone who has jammed on the four string instrument. In turn, he has become "the" most admired bassist of the last few decades.I love McCartney ,Geddy Lee, Jack Bruce,Steve Harris, James Jamerson, and Chris Squire among others. These guys are all distinctly identifiable in their playing.Billy, on the other hand, has filled his toolbox with borrowed tools from the greats and blended them into a fantastic non-style.

I always admired Paul Samuel Smith of the Yardbirds as a wonderful bassist of the 60's. Until today, no one talked about him because of his short career as a bassist. Thanks to Billy who brought up Paul Samuel Smith here.
