Hello, I am from Alabama, I enjoy watching your videos. I have learned a lot from you and a few others. I love finding things on the side of the road and taking it all apart for the copper, brass, aluminum and other metals. I have gotten my husband into going and finding it with me, he just isn't into breaking it down, he would just take it all to the scrap yard like it is if it wasn't for me. I hope to start recording some videos myself, soon. I just have to learn how to make and edit videos and not be shy. Thank you for sharing your videos.

Lately I’ve discovered to skip the step of cutting off plug ends. Instead I use the same method of pliers to hold plug in one hand and dull wire cutters to pinch and roll the brass prongs out and just tears the prong from the copper wire.

Greetings from northern Sweden and a fellow scrapper.
Don't we all love Hammer Time😂
Capacitors like that I put with Dirty Aluminium, pays better then shred.
Also, I use two yards depending on what material I have, one yard gives me prepared steel price for nuts and bolts, screws and any clean steel so to say. Scrapping for me is Theraputic Escapism and I admit it has put food on the table a few times. I also use my scrap steel weight for fuel in the car, not much to the lbs but it helps.
    Stay safe and take care.

That piece is called an armature or rotor. Some are made with copper (I have a video showing how to remove the copper) this one is steel and aluminum but the only way to remove the aluminum is to melt it from the steel. It’s hardly any weight in aluminum so it wouldn’t be worth the trouble or time to melt it.

@scrapitall200 mine was a an old propane tank cut in half I drilled a vent hole in the side that was attached to the hair dryer. I filled it with plaster of Paris it worked great I still have it. I cut wood into small pieces and kept feeding them in. My problem was I melted most every crucible I used. They may work a time or two but I killed a bunch. Now I have a proper foundry and proper crucible. Spent the money to save the time

I did not plan to buy this foundry though its pretty nice. I wanted a bigger unit. Now I have both

Just with firewood and I used a hair dryer as a blower. You melt the aluminum out of them motors. Steel will last a few burns. Stainless works best. Hit the thrift store for stainless steel pots. Melt and pour the aluminum yourself. Make sure your mold is hot. My friend a steam explosion is not something you will go through twice
