@scrapitall200 mate your videos are awesome so I'm always pleased to watch. On holiday in Tenerife with my family at the moment so thank you for keeping me entertained whilst having a little Jim Beam and coke 👍
I like the price break down at the end. Its interesting seeing what its actually worth. Some one was throwing out over 6 bucks and would have paid to throw it out.
I had fun doing this for sure, then again I always have fun scrapping. Probably isn’t worth it for most, but for me I’ll scrap them all. Thank you for watching.
I’m sure you are totally correct. I actually don’t strip them, I’m saving them to melt the copper from the steel once I get a forge, but figured I show how it can be done. Thank you for watching buddy!
I bet there was no money in it and yet there is money in it, haha. There is always that one screw that just tests ya patience, huh? That was a good itemized breakdown.
@@scrapitall200 I was just thinking. Your machete hack for stators, would that work on the likes of the transformer you broke down towards the end of the video?
@@MicroScraprMike that’s a great question. I’ve used it on smaller transformers with no problems at all. I haven’t tried it yet on one this size because I haven’t found one yet ti try. Because this one can be taken apart with the hammer, I choose to go that method instead of wearing out my machete. As soon as I find one though, I will test it in a video. Thank you for your question, I appreciate it very much.
@scrapitall200 yeah, I would normally do it, too, but if I can sell the whole thing, I won't need to get mad at myself for having it sitting around for a year.
@@HHRecycling it always comes down to time, right? Nothing wrong with choosing to just scrap things as they are. Thanks again for watching, I appreciate it considering you’re a busy guy.
@scrapitall200 I try to make time to catch up in the morning and you were the first one I saw. I also really wanted to know what was inside of it. You know we are getting old when the clickbait is what's inside a cash register.
Thank you, I appreciate that. I’m a fan of his channel, but you’re right, we are quite different lol. I wish I had the kind of copper he gets lol. Thank you for watching.
The main processing board with the ICs on it...leave the ICs on it and you should have no problem selling it as high peripheral. If you take the ICs off, it would probably downgrade it to just a mid-grade board and not worth shipping. Good breakdown video. Haven't seen a cash register done before. 👍
After I made the video I checked Boardsort.com and I was pretty sure it’s a high grade peripheral, thank you for confirming that for me! Thank you for watching, Roger!
@@THEATREGOD3 some stuff isn’t cost effective to ship, but some definitely is. Ram sells for $23 a pound and I can fit just over 3 pounds inside a flat rate box that costs $10.20 to ship. I’ve not shipped enough stuff to them yet to really know what’s worth it and what isn’t. Shark Scrapper on RUclips has some good videos about shipping stuff to Boardsort.com.
@@THEATREGOD3 A good general rule for shipping cost is $1.00/lb. Shark Scrapper has a couple of good videos on shipping to Boardsort and I also have one in my video list. ruclips.net/video/cWrxW-FbPks/видео.html Flat rate boxes are your best value for shipping if your boards will fit. The lowest grade I would consider shipping is high peripheral, as long as there is enough weight in the box to cover shipping. I wouldn't ship anything under $2.00/lb unless you're using it as "filler". When I have unused space in my box, I will fill that unused space with gold connector ends at $.70/lb just to use that space up. A large flat rate shipping box is like $22 and change right now, so as long as you have more than $23 in your box, you are money ahead. The higher the grade and the more weight you can fit into a box, the better. I make about $20 profit on a full 11 lb. box of CD ROM boards, and as you can see in my video, I made about $420 profit on that one, Hope this helps!!
Dear, Why do you cut the power cord before opening the covers? When I open tools, I can get the whole power cord to the brass connectors ir switch inside. I keep some long power cords in order to replace a damaged one in another tool. Best regards and thanks for letting us see what is inside.
Dear, The printed circuit boards, even totally depopulated, still have a thin layer of copper. I am not sure it's worth something, but in big factories, they should be able to extract this layer and also recover the tin from the solder. When I was a teenager, I used to print my own PCBs with masking tape and dissolving the copper layer with the appropriate chemical (ferrous trichloride). So I assume the big factories should be able to extract copper from the PCB, but don't know if it is worth the price.
On the plugs I guess I am cheap or I prefer thrifty. I cut that bit of copper of the brass. I need a vise I use channel locks in one hand pliers in the other and twist like chubby checker.
Oh I absolutely clip the copper off the ends, it might not weigh a bunch, but that copper adds up lol. Yes, I think the vise is much better. I’ve done it that way but gets a little hard on the wrists after awhile.
