We in the Caribbean dont prepare Aloe like this for hairwashing..Youre throwing away a lot of power by removing the outer leaf...Here we mash the whole leaf up , Bundled in an old t shirt or cloth..Just tighten the shirt up in a ball, and everything seeps through..wipe the ball over your crown and thats it..Leave it in as long as possible.Dont wash immediatly afterwards
@@Geechee_Chick Hi I learned last year not to blend Aloe Vera when using it for hair care. If you are making smoothies fine, but not for hair care. Check out Vyala Bloom on youtube, she has made a specific video explaining why not to do this. If you want you can even make your own Aloe Vera Powder by allowing the leaf to dry if you have a lot of Aloe Vera and then pulsing it in a blender for a couple of minutes.
Nice video, for anyone that want ideas of other tea rinses: hibiscus, rosemary, stinging nettle, curry leaf, guava leaf, moringa, I also use ayurvedic herbs.
Like you so awesome! Your teaching me something I can take and teach others. I appreciate this and you. Your doing everything you suppose to by that! Go girl!
Nope, I use it after washing and conditioning, and I never washed it out. I blend it and strain through cheese cloth. it’s awesome. Smooth the hair and softens. No itching or chunks.
Although I have microlocs its something about traditional...let me stop..all types of locs that just make me ughhhh😍😍😍🤤🤤 and yours are just gorgeous! How often do/did you do this treatment? Every wash, once a month 2x a year??
Hi, how do you remove the aloe vera flakes left in your locs from the aloe? I tried the gel for the first time had to shampooed my hair 3x and white residue still remained near the root. :(
The best things I've used to moisturize my locs is distilled rosewater or aloe vera juice. I add a tsp of infused oil and silk peptide/silk protein powder for additional moisturizing benefits. I also add fenugreek overnight before adding the above ingredients. The rosewater I buy comes in a glass bottle (2.97 at Walmart), found in the international food section (cortas brand). I basically replace the bottle top with a sprayer from a dollar tree spray bottle (cut the tube to the length that fits the bottle). I don't like plastic, especially if I'm adding essential oils and I'm going to be keeping the product in it for more than a day. Essential oil can cause the plastic to leach over time, which is why most essential oils come in glass bottles. For the Aloe vera juice, I don't add much to it except a few drops of essential oil and sometimes the tsp of infused oil. Sometimes I mix both because I love the benefits of the aloe on my scalp. I personally don't use water on my locs because it's not moisturizing. I find that once it evaporates, it just leaves your locs dry. When distilled rosewater or aloe vera juice evaporates you're usually left with softer more moisturized locs but of course everyone is different.
Hi, very rarely... honestly, whenever I feel like it (I don't really keep track) but let's say 2, maybe 3 times a year. I usually just separate the locs every so often. But again that's not scheduled it's when I fee like it.

Aloe is water soluble. And does not cause build up. If you let a lot of it dry in one spot in can become flaky but as soon as you dab a bit or water on it. Its gone. And this is a rinse out. So no build up

New fan of your how many time u wash your hair per month... An how long do u take before u twist again
I wash 2-3 times per month. I only retwist when I feel like it....average every 3-5mos. 🤷🏾♀️

Hi! I just finished watching your aloe *water* video-do you also have to rinse the aloe water out of your hair or is it only the gel? Thanks! 😄
Thanks for watching!
the aloe water is a leave in.... the gel you can rinse out OR use to retwist your locs.
Onyx Goddess thank you! 😁
Skin is so clear 😍😍
Thanks girl! I work hard on it
Hey thanks, great video 🌵
I love your locs video 📹
Very helpful. Thank you, love.

You're so welcome!
I love you and your locs video
Would you recommend I try this to help thicken my thinning locs?
Yes
Do you have to wash the aloe Vera out?
Gorgeous QUEEN😍😍😍
Thank you 🤎
So the aloe doesn’t cause build up in the locs? 🤔
No, not in my experience...if you leave it in and use too much if may dry white and flaky... but you with water it goes away.
Lol that intro 👌
An can u sleep with the aloe gel in your hair an wash it out the next morning
It will most likely dry out. you could try sleeping with the plastic cap but I haven't done that with my locs.
@@OnyxGoddess how do you make sure you don’t get any of the pulp in the aloe you apply to your hair? I don’t want it to stay in my locs lol

Hi, how do you remove the aloe vera flakes left in your locs from the aloe? I tried the gel for the first time had to shampooed my hair 3x and white residue still remained near the root. :(
Hi,
I usually just spritz the area with water and massage in the aloe... dried aloe will continue to absorb if you moisten it.
@@OnyxGoddess Thank you I’m sitting here stressed out didn’t see your video until after lol smh
I’m confused , do we have to wash the aloe out or can we leave it for a retwist ?
You can leave it.
Washing it out is optional.
Nice video!
Great video😁Where do you get your Aloe Vera plants from? I’ve been looking everywhere and can’t find any that aren’t already dead or unusable😒
My grocery store sells the large single leaves for $2
I don’t know of any stores that sell the single plants where I’m from I guess I’ll have to see about ordering some lol Thanks for the response👋🏼
I found some in Walmart the other day.
That’s also where I ended up finding some that I could actually use😋I mix it with my water and peppermint oil in a spray bottle for daily use.

How many months must you do this if you are a beginner please?
You can do it as often as you want. Or as often as your hair feels dry
So what if you just wash your hair
I was going to use the aloe Vera and then retwist my hair because you know it’s needed 😁
That's fine too

What do you use for weekly moisturizer? My hair gets dry every two days regardless of what I use.
The same oil I showed you. I just spray my hair with water first. (I have the same issue... maybe it's our hair texture)

Please can I use aloe vera to lock my hair ,,,,,I just want to start nw but I use aloe vera to lock can it please can it work

You don't need any product to loc your hair though. Just stop combing it. Or twist it and leave it alone 🙂

🌵🌵..I read the tiny message. 😄
😁😁😁
Hey! i'm doing this whole routine. question though, do you wash your hair with the tea blend or just spray it? and don't wash it out?
The tea blend was a rinse.
Shampoo. Pour rinse over locs. Let sit (long enough to bathe). Rinse out lightly.
Your commentary is awesome lol
@onyx would you recommend rice water for dreads?
I've never tried it so I can't really give my opinion on it.
How often do you retwist your locs?
Hi, very rarely... honestly, whenever I feel like it (I don't really keep track) but let's say 2, maybe 3 times a year. I usually just separate the locs every so often. But again that's not scheduled it's when I fee like it.
Have you ever tried Nopales? 10x better IMO
Not for my hair no...🤔 I'm not even sure where I'd get that in Toronto.
Onyx Goddess it worked good for my locs and oh damn nvm lol
@@OnyxGoddess you can get them in Kensington market, there's a Mexican grocery store there. Tuna is more like a cleanser, while aloe is more moisturizing.

Some were gifts but...the beauty supply store, craft store, anywhere that sells beads, old jewelry pendants, get creative.

Can i put castor oil in it
You can, though it may be too thick for a rinse out deep conditioner. That's something I'd use after washing.
