  • Walt Disney was a true visionary, and his most far-reaching vision examined the future. During the 1950s, his investigation into space exploration and the wondrous opportunities and challenges of space travel not only came alive in several Disneyland TV shows, but helped create strong public support for The United States space program. Go back in time to the beginning of the future and enjoy four episodes and a theatrical short that delve into the mysteries of the universe and space travel -- "Man In Space," "Man And The Moon," "Mars And Beyond," "Eyes In Outer Space," and "Our Friend The Atom." You'll also get a rare look at Walt's last film, "EPCOT," in which he reveals his concepts and plans for the Disney World and EPCOT projects. Other not-to-be-missed features include a special interview with noted futurist and author Ray Bradbury. Featuring exclusive introductions by film historian Leonard Maltin, this is a timeless collection from generations past for generations to come.

The dedication plaque that walt read in 1955 at Disneyland is still there right by the flagpole. Also in Main street, you can go to the the mickey mouse theater but it's all silent except for Steamboat Willie in 1928 because that was the first disney cartoon of mickey's using sound.

Steam even helps in the kitchen or even when you're taking a shower or bath. The way steam helps in the kitchen is when people fill up a kettle full of water to boil when you're making tea. Steam in people's shower rises. But steam is also in 2 devices and they are the oven and the microwave. For instance, when you put bread in the oven, and take it out you might see the steam rise. But when people put frozen foods like pizza or those frozen dinners you can the steam rise.

As walt Disney mentioned on his show the Disneyland story there are 4 lands and they are Adventureland, Fantasyland, Frontierland and Tomorrow land. Right in the middle in Disneyland is Sleeping Beauty Castle. It's named after walt Disney's 16th movie.

If Walt Disney was alive today and saw the ISS and the Falcon 9 Rocket coming back and landing upright on the barge and land at Kennedy. I'm certain he would be so excited about what Elon is doing with SpaceX and Tesla he would certainly support both ideas and probably even make documentaries that would promote these ideas.

When the People Mover was at Disneyland, it took people by Star Tours, Space Mountain and into the world like the computer Disney movie TRON even past the rocket jets. At Disneyland today, you can still go on Attractions like the rocket rods. Do you remember star tours? It's still there. Space Mountain is involved with Star Wars. As a matter of fact, the most fascinating thing adults and children can watch in Tomorrow land is Captain EO. It's fun. But one thing people'll hear in tomorrow land is the music from the Disney 1991 movie The Rocketeer. Try this other show. But trust me I wouldn't go on it if I were you. It's called Honey I Shrunk the Audience and it's like the movie Honey I shrunk the kids. Cover your ears when the evil witch queen on captain Eo speaks because it's loud.

You're a very good host of your shows and you always show us stuff. My favorite shows of yours are Mars and Beyond(there's a cameo of Donald duck in there), cavalcade of songs, the plausible impossible, adventures in colors and Mathematics, the story of the silly symphonies, and the plausible impossible. The name of the Mickey mouse short on there is Thru The Mirror(it's like Alice in wonderland) and you even said the name of the Donald duck cartoon Donald's cousin Gus. That cartoon came out in 1939 the same year as the MGM film The Wizard of Oz.

If electricity weren't around there'd be no light nor television. Actually it was the fact Benjamin Franklin developed electricity because thunder is a type of that source. But remember don't put anything like a paperclip into a wall socket because it could cause fires.

Back in the '80s, in one of the visits to a library, we borrowed "Our Friend the Atom." Was it me? Maybe it WAS me who found it! Little did I know, it was also a late '50s Disney film. Notice how outdated it is, these days. It focused too much on the good things about the use of atomic power (including the Curies discovering Radium but not on how Radium products were promoted and what harm it did to those who bought such things!). We know such things would be too risky due to, ya know, radiation.
    Outdated but entertaining, nonetheless.

Some of walt's shows helps us understand the show's using audio animatronics. That's a way of letting machines talk like in the enchanted tikki room and it's a small world. Another thing about Disneyland that's in every land except for tomorrow land is music. For instance, if you go to both attractions the pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion you'll hear music in them. But when you enter fantasyland you'll hear when you wish upon a star. It's the academy award winning song in pinocchio. But at Disneyland now it's added stuff that is there but isn't there anymore. For example, remember the submarine Voyage, well that's now Finding Nemo submarine Voyage. And of course another area has changed it's critter country but there's a fun attraction there. What used to be where the country bears jamboree was it's no longer there. But what's in place of it is the many adventures of Winnie the pooh ride named after the 1977 movie. Another thing about fantasyland is when people are on the carousel there's 1 thing they'll hear and see and they are disney music and pictures from walt Disney's sleeping beauty from once upon a time to happily ever after.

I have been watching The Wonderful World Of Color & other Walt Disney shows & films. I went into my husbands office last night & all but yelled "Walt Disney for Emperor ! " I HAD to go past his being a mere king. Thus it was fascinating to hear Ray Bradbury (Also one heck of a guy) recount his story of mentioning to Walt about running for Mayor of LA. I still say even posthumous --- Walt Disney for Emperor :) A million reasons why.

Ray Bradbury fans should not miss his long interview at 1:44:20. Bradbury says: "Walt Disney is a 'optimal behaviorist'. Meaning, every day of your life, if you behave well, you begin to feel well. You get your work done every day. And at the end of the week, month or year, you turn around and say 'Look what I've done'. So you feel good. Walt could look back and say 'Look what I've done'. That's real optimism. That made him want to go on. A lot of people are pessimist because they've never done anything. If you go to bed every night not having done anything, you're gonna wake up unhappy. The answer to that is do something every day. Be busy. For God's sake, be busy."
