    It appears you are following the excellence in construction of your canoe with more excellent work on rocker curve. Congratulations.

    When you screw the outside steam....what exactly are you screwing into? How is it when you remove the canoe from the mold. I just started my build today. Got my starter strips on. Just discovered your videos. I'm thinking of doing the same now that I have seen what you did.

      Yvan Perreault screwing the outside stem to the inside stem. Good luck and thanks for watching

    Thanks for making this build/video series think I've watch each one ten times. They've been a great help in my build. I'm about to finish stripping my own canoe. Congrats on the new baby hope all is going well. Looking forward to more.

      Harrison B thanks for watching and the kind words! It's really rewarding to know that they videos are helping someone.
      I love the little girl very much, but she is slowing my production some. If I am holding up your build process, I would also highly recommend build videos by "a guy doing stuff". Adam is a great guy.
      It certainly can't hurt to see different styles.
      Best of luck and please let me know if I can be of assistance

      Chronic Woodwork hey not holding me up at all. Enjoy your time with your little girl. I've watched a guy doing stuff does great work and I love his canoe. It's very impressive. Just nice to see more than one method of doing things.

    I'm enjoying your videos, I'm preparing for my first build, watching videos and using Canoecraft as my guide. Your canoe looks great.

      Thank you joe. And thanks for watching. Please let me know if I can be any assistance. I'm no expert, but I haven't screwed up too bad yet!

    I'm enjoying your build. Thanks for making the videos. Just so you know, the curve you cut is actually called the sheer of the canoe. A canoe's rocker is the curve of a canoe's keel. Zero rocker is a straight keel, and a lot of rocker is a keel like a rocking chair.

      Mark Hazelden well now my ignorance can be on full display for years to come haha! Thanks for helping me square away my terminology.

      I used to call it the same as you until I was corrected by an old timer. Your canoe looks great!

      Mark Hazelden thank you. Can't wait until I'm a wise old timer and can tell off some youngins.

    Good series so far. How is episode 7 coming along?

    • @chronicwoodwork5466
      @chronicwoodwork5466  7 лет назад

      Michael Meyer working as fast as I can! But 7 won't be as exciting as some of the others- it's prepping the hull
      For fiber glass
      8 should be really fun though!

    It is super satisfying to see such awesome project take its shape.. It's also going to be great seeing you putting it into water for the first time. Cant wait:). Also, are you planing of making oars for it?

    • @chronicwoodwork5466
      @chronicwoodwork5466  7 лет назад

      +lignum in excited as well. Yes I plan to make some oars. Just need to decide on a design. My closest hard wood dealer is about an hour away, so I want to define a design before I make a trip.

    Andy, I think you need better lighting in your work area. The headlamp isn't enough. Love the videos, the canoe is looking good.

      +Mark Elder it isn't as bad as it looks, but I agree. I'm in a really big unfinished basement and I think it's got 3 working outlets in my work area. I rent so I'm not putting a bunch of money into a house I don't own! Most the time I have enough light. I just used the headlamp to make sure I have enough light for high-stress cuts (rocker curve, hull). It's hard to see a pencil mark on cedar.
      Thanks for watching!

    Great videos! Thinking about tackling a canoe build soon so would be curious to know how much time you have put into it thus far. Cheers!

      Michael Anderson it's so hard to ball park hours. There is a lot of time reading, planning, etc. maybe 40-60 hours so far.

    It's easy to buy 10 year old epoxy just go to a local store. West Marine sells west epoxy. Go figure
